On December 20th, Girls’ Generation released their digital maxi single “The Boys” on iTunes.
Though the album had been delayed for a month, the wait was well worth it. The album has epic remixes of “The Boys”, including an a cappella version and even a cameo by hip hop legend, Snoop Dogg.
Those who watched Girls’ Generation perform at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards and remember their incredible performance will also recognize one of the remixes on the album, as it was used for that performance.
Head over to iTunes to purchase the new album.

Wesomee….wish I cldve said that I bought it bt I’m kinda in over my head with all the cash I had to spend for the solo con and other soshi goods! Always supporting them in spirit…soshi jjang!
wahh , this is daebakkk !!!
I really don’t know where any of you are coming from as far as anything “screaming” sex and hate.
That being said, I think I like the Lil Playy mix the best. The Snoop Dogg one less so because it just doesn’t make one want to get up and dance.
I could really do without the Suzi version, the rap is so unlike anything SNSD would ever do. It seems way out of place.
The Teddy Riley remix starts out ok, like it’s going to be the MAMA remix. But then they never sing the chorus and then he slows it way down instead of speeding up the intensity like in the MAMA version. The MAMA remix seems to be the Teddy Riley mix for the first half and then transitions to the faster pace found in the Clinton Sparks & Disco Fried Remix.
Anyway, still enjoyed listening to all the tracks. I think the Lil Playy version would do the best of all of them on US radio and the club scene.
@VzO but not adult things like lady gaga etc.. Maybe some kind mature image but not negative adult things..
Btw is it release for USA only ? I cannot buy it from my country.
sometimes i wish that the girls would remain in asia..SM is the one that benefits the most when the girls get into the states and other parts of the world at the same time tiring themselves
Yay! We should support SNSD no matter what. Hear, hear to multiple radio requests. We should also promote them to our friends residing in the US. They should make it to the top 100 if we do that. SNSD daebak!
if you think snsd should always have the “innocent image” then you’re kidding yourself, they are adults and do adult things.. grow up buddy.
I’m glad Snoop Dogg’s rap isn’t full of sexual images. It does not 100% fit the girls image but it’s not like it contrasts it either so I am content. That was one of my biggest worries about the remix – that it was going to be overly sexualized like BoA’s Eat You Up with FloRida
But to be honest snoop dogg’s rap, wasnt what i expected, i felt like he wasnt trying hard enough, but hat’s just my opinion.
But SNSD your doing brilliantly, JJANG!!
The Boys *Bring Dem Boys* (feat. Suzi) is my favourite
It’s the 119th album in iTunes right now! Our girls just keep becoming more and more popular — 119 on iTunes is nothing to sneeze at — especially this early on! Come on, top 100, we can do it!
Go SNSD! Hope you will be a huge success in U.S. and Europe and once you make your mark(s) in these countries, you’ll be even more greater and “everyone will see your name in lights”. I’ll support you girls no matter what. Good luck with everything in the future. Kamsahamnida SSF for the update. :)
The remixes itself is pretty good but the lyrics in some parts just threw me off. Sometimes it gets too dirty and pretty much indirectly screams the words “sex and hate”. I understand that Sment want to make it more appealing for the US listeners but the way they did it was a little bit too much. I may sound selfish but I don’t want our girls to have such a image, I don’t know about you guys but I fell in love with a girl group because of their innocent charm and angelic personality.
Bought the full digital album anwyays just because I wanna support our girls but I honestly think I would be fine any day without these kinds of remixes. :/
different remixes the boys will sound cool
This is the way they have to go if they plan on getting them out there. If you are a new artist in America you have to work your way up the charts with singles and ditigal maxi singles first. They aren’t well known here just because we sones know them. They have to start from the bottom and work their way from the top. A physical release would have been overlooked by people who don’t know them yet but this ditigal release first will help get them on radio and such. Also to all the others who commented saying adding snoop was a mistake, they had to add something that would at least make someone listen. Most artists, especially newer ones, get popular artists to be in their song because it may or may not boost the sales. It also helps get your name out there more like “Hey check out this new band they just did a song with lil wayne” for instance. I know to some it may not flow well or wasn’t what they expected but this isn’t just with them. This is with all new artists in the US. It’ll get better believe me :)
K, I love the girls, so I won’t be too upset, but…I was under the impression that this would be a physical release, and well…I mean, really, does anyone ever know when something releases on iTunes unless it’s something they’re already looking for? This isn’t the exposure I was hoping for for them :/
whatever it is, im going to support SNSD :)
-1 for the remix w/ Snoop Dogg. No offense to Mr. Dogg(I am a fan of yours, btw) but its like the song will be just the same(or better) if his part was not there … so yah, not good.
Well, for the others … I dunno, I haven’t heard them yet(except for the first remix that was played in Mnet Awards)
But “The Boys” is still “The Boys” … daebak!
This remixes are so cool!!!
to be honest, the snoop dogg “cameo” is totally unnecessary and actually does not blend well into the remix. it actually sounds like 2 totally different songs being spliced together. especially since the tempo jumps so suddenly. the rest of the remix is good, in my opinion, the “cameo” of snoop dogg and even the appearance of lil playy on the other remix are both weak attempts to draw in listeners from other genres. if you remove both of their lines from the 2 remix tracks, those remixes are actually quite good without the introductions from both artists. snoop dogg has had little relevance in the recent pop music, let alone hiphop music scene. interscope should have brought in more relevant artists like kanye west or will.i.am who are still active and producing some great music, not a “has been”. don’t get me wrong i like snoop dogg, he’s just not truly relevant, influencial or innovative anymore. the use of snoop dogg isn’t going to be what it takes for the u.s./western audience to take notice of the girls. it will take the SONEs drawing attention to this single by making collaborated efforts to make mass radio play requests all over the country and playing this song to friends and spreading the word about SNSD.
i’m very excited for this maxi single
and the potential exposure it can
bring the girls worldwide and in the
american market. howevere, due to
my finances, i can’t listen to them
right now as i save up my money for
the special album that will contain
all these songs as well. but i can’t wait!!!
i really hope that snoop dog raises their awareness in the us because the whole world should know about snsd!!
woooo!!
remixes!
definitely a real deal!
I wish they came out with a studio version of MAMA remix, but instead 1 part is in Clinton Sparks remix and the other one is in T.R.X remix.
SM, please make a studio version of the MAMA remix!!
uhh, ouri girls !!! :3
