Today the original choreography for Girls’ Generation hit single “Genie” was released on Youtube. Rino Nakasone, who choreographed the dance, tweeted earlier, “It’s out! Original Choreography footage of Girls’ Generation “GENIE” Check it out!”
There are some slight differences between Rino’s original choreography submission and the final “Genie” dance, but for the most part “Genie” stays true to the original. The iconic “hacky-sack” dance is on display, and once the chorus hits the trademark moves are left virtually untouched.
In addition to “Genie” Rino has choreographed for Girls’ Generation on “Oh!”, “Hoot”, and “Mr. Taxi”. She has proven to be a very talented choreographer, and the dancing and performing ability of Girls’ Generation really makes the choreography shine.

So THIS is how the decide on the choreographers? They do an audition with them? cool! I would love to see more of these! I have to admit though, I like this version a little bit more. It’s a bit sharper than the final version of Genie. But I still prefer the ending SNSD did compared to this one. The salute really fit the theme of pilot’s/soldiers

wow yeah its cool!! but it looks so incomplete without 9 ppl dancing it!! haha..SNSD really have left their mark on this song ^^ and well its kinda special for me too, in a certain way, cos genie was the first song the got me started on ,my life as a sone, and caught on the hallyu wave ^^ been one crazy ride, and ive got no intentions of stopping soon! i think im too used to seeing the choreography with the girls, and with their moves, so this feels kinda diff to me ! :P whatever happens, will always be behind the girls! SNSD fighting!

I was kinda hoping to see the original version with the original choreography.
Anyway, that aside, the feeling she gives is so different than soshi!
Not better or worse, just different!
Funny that I’ve been reading Nakasone-san’s name in Japanese in my head, so I didn’t even notice she has SONE in her last name. It’s like she was meant to work with Soshi! She is a fantastic choreographer, I hope we get to see more of her work with the Girls in the future.

oh yeah i just watch it as soon as i saw ssf retweet it. Rino is sick, I freaking love her ever since on ABDC season 3 with her female dance crew The Beat Freaks. I’m so hoping she do OH!, Mr. Taxi and Hoot video like this. I can’t wait to see Soshi comeback and what new moves they got to give us from SM talented choreographers. Thanks ssf for the update, man y’all are busy. :D
