On February 18th, Taeyeon and SHINee’s Jonghyun appeared on Mnet’s “the Music” for an interview, during which the subject of Taeyeon’s 2010 musical, “Midnight Sun”, was discussed.

Taeyeon said quite frankly, “Musicals were very different from what I’d imagined. It was much more difficult for me.” She continued, “I had to act while singing and do three or four things at once, and it required concentration all the time.”

“Every performance had to look like the first performance. And it was difficult for me to do that as someone with weak focus. So I struggled a lot by myself. That’s something I still have to overcome.”

When the MC asked if she wanted to try it again but better, she replied, “If there is a good opportunity, then…” before trailing off. But then she confessed, “I honestly don’t want to. I don’t think musicals are for me,” to the laughter of the MCs.

Check out a brief part of the interview below, during which Taeyeon sang “Set Me Free”, her solo song from S.M. the Ballad’s second album. The full interview on “the Music” is available in Soshified’s Video Downloads Section.
