On February 16th, Taeyeon appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s “Blue Night” radio, hosted by SHINee’s Jonghyun. Taeyeon and Jonghyun are currently promoting for S.M. the Ballad, singing a duet titled “Breath”.
On “Blue Night”, Jonghyun, who said that he would like to say greetings as a member SHINee for a long time, asked Taeyeon, “How long do you think you (editor’s note: Girls’ Generation) can actively promote together?”
Taeyeon replied, “Of course, I was born in front of the public as Girls’ Generation. I’d like to be Girls’ Generation to the public until the end.” Further, she opened up her heart and said, “It’s also something the members would like to keep among ourselves. When I grow old, old enough to not be able to dance with high heels, I’d like to still be Girls’ Generation. It’s something all nine members would like to keep.”
She added, “I’m always hungry to sing more. Even when I’m actively promoting, there are feelings where I’d like to do more with the songs.” Taeyeon also discussed her solo promotions and explained, “I like that these opportunities keep popping up. Our goal is for our members to show a variety of things in different areas.”
Taeyeon mentioned the days she takes time off as well, revealing, “I stay home, watch live performances on YouTube, and make things like cupcakes.”
Later, Taeyeon and Jonghyun brought up alcohol and drinking. Jonghyun began by asking Taeyeon if she liked alcohol, to which she replied, “I do.”
Jonghyun also asked, “People think Girls’ Generation will only drink wine. Is this true?” Taeyeon replied, “We drink wine a lot. We revealed we like champagne too.” Jonghyun drew laughs, saying, “Lies!”
As for snacks, Taeyeon said, “I like ddukbokki. But I can’t eat spicy food very well. So I eat things such as cuisine ddukbokki.”
When asked about her behavior when drunk, Taeyeon said, “About drinking behavior, it comes out when a certain amount of alcohol goes in. By then, I don’t know.”
Jonghyun then claimed, “When we all went to go eat together after an SM concert, I saw Taeyeon’s drinking behavior. It’s the best. Her voice is the prettiest. Taeyeon can’t drink very well. So when others start to get drunk, she’s drunk already. Everyone said Taeyeon is cute after seeing this.”

I guess I’m the only one that finds this article somewhat upsetting. I’ve ready numerous translations of it and they all seem to say that she likes alcohol. Nothing wrong with that, she is an adult woman, but drinking and drinking to excess are two different things. It concerns me that she goes on to say that she drinks so much she can’t remember. I guess I miss the days where they would dodge questions that would potentially hurt their image. While articles like this, and the drunken post on Instragram, make her more real I’m not sure they really put forth an image that is good for advertisers, children that look up to them, etc. Anyway, not trying to bash, curious what other think, maybe I’m just over reacting.
Hey I feel you man :) But when she’s that drunk don’t you think that she’s with her members so that she won’t do anything ridiculous? I don’t see anywhere of her saying she drinks so much she can’t remember in this article if my eyes do not fail me.
I personally feel glad on how she does not mind sharing anything. The thing unique in my opinion about Girls Generation is how open they are with their fans. I would really rather them being honest then hiding anything as we all know some groups do. Just be glad to be a Sone :) The girls are big enough to take care of themselves and they know what they’re doing. It may just have been one of those stressful days for GG you know? They have very high expectations of themselves and the way they present themselves so yeah I don’t see whats wrong with drinking even abit to excess with friends.
Just some differing opinions from yours yeah :) cuz for me if GG are happy=I’m happy

@Kronex1998 Thank you for your very civil, very thoughtful reply. I consider myself a SONE but sometimes I question the girls and it is very nice to not get bashed for that here.
As for the remembering part the line I was keying in on was, “About drinking behavior, it comes out when a certain amount of alcohol goes in. By then, I don’t know.” That seemed to imply excess drinking to me but it could be something lost in translation or I could simply be reading too much into it. Either way you make some good points, the environments she chooses to drink in are most likely safe ones with the other girls around who would hopefully help protect her if necessary. I’d just hate to see someone try to take advantage of any one of them.

@daxsus Why would I bash you for? The problem with our community is that there’s always a number of fake sones going out to bash other groups and in return the sone community is never thought of well. It’s perfectly fine to question the Girls I do too who doesn’t?

lol i would love to see how she behaves after she get tipsy or drunk. when i’m under the liquor i’m still aware of things around me and what i’m doing, so does that consider to be drunk or not that drunk? i started acting more confident and let loose, things i wouldn’t normally do when i’m not drinking. oh well nice to let go sometimes >_<. ah Taengoo i love your 1st answer, she answer almost the same when a similar question was ask some yrs back. she or they still have that goal firmly stuck in them and that's awesome. while some peeps tend to sway or weaken as time goes by, here our Soshi still stand firm by their goal. i do hope if whenever they start doing English songs/promotions and become huge around the world, that they'll keep that firmness about still wanting to be SNSD and protecting the SNSD name. there are no other girl group like SNSD and if there is, well i don't know who they are then. It’s a freah side of them that they can be morr open and honest about what they like, dislike, hope, and do. I remember a tine when they would laugh cutely and avoid questions like those in order to maintain a certain image.
