On the night of September 22nd, Girls’ Generation performed alongside their fellow SM Entertainment artists at Jakarta, Indonesia for the fifth concert in their “SMTOWN Live World Tour III” series. Held at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium, the largest stadium in Indonesia, last night’s event was the biggest concert of the year. Girls’ Generation was joined by Kangta, BoA, TVXQ!, Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), and EXO for their first performance in Indonesia.
Two hours before the concert started, Taeyeon represented Girls’ Generation in attending the press conference. Taeyeon expressed that it was an honor to be able to perform in Indonesia for the first time and wished for the fans to enjoy the concert. She also mentioned that their upcoming plans include an album release in both Japan and Korea during the second half of 2012. The MCs were left speechless after Taeyeon’s remark, and they expressed that her beauty had left them baffled for a few moments. You can watch the full 18-minute press conference here.
By 6 PM, the sun had started to set and the sky grew dark. Fans who have waited for over a few hours started to shout and cheer for their favorite artists. The lights dimmed and the concert started at 6:30 PM, right on time.
The first member to appear onstage was Jessica, who performed Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” with her sister, f(x)’s Krystal. However, Girls’ Generation’s first appearance was marked by Taeyeon’s signature “Devil’s Cry”, which shook the whole stadium. Her strong presence garnered a lot of cheers from the crowd, and the other eight girls joined her for their next performance, “Run Devil Run”. Dressed in black, the girls were able to make all the SONEs wave their lightsticks frantically for their first performance of the night.
The girls then went on to their introduction segment, in which they tried a few Indonesian phrases to communicate with the crowd. After they finished introducing themselves one by one, Taeyeon nudged Sooyoung and Hyoyeon while pointing at the paper project amongst the crowd, which said “Today is Hyo(ur)s”. Hyoyeon then playfully acted along as everyone sang “Happy Birthday”. Sunny pushed Hyoyeon to the middle, and the girls jokingly hit her.
The next song the girls performed was “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)”. The crowd roared wildly as Tiffany shouted, “Indonesia, put it back on!” After their performance, the girls disappeared to the back of the stage.
Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun appeared again as Girls’ Generation – TTS for their performance of “Twinkle”. After performing in the center of the stage, the girls hopped onto the carts and spread out to perform Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” with EXO’s D.O., Luhan, Sehun and Chanyeol. The performance was followed by a dance battle among the best dancers from each group, and Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Yoona represented Girls’ Generation. Fans all around the stadium cheered for these three gorgeous dancers.
Spliced into other artist’s performances was the Korean version of “MR. TAXI”, which the girls carried out with confidence. They also performed their similar set of songs, “Gee” and “Kissing You”, donning familiar white shirts and blue jeans.
The last song Girls’ Generation performed was the Korean version of “The Boys”. Fans have waited for this moment in excitement, which could be clearly heard from the “GG” fanchant which echoed throughout the stadium. For the ending song “Hope”, the girls went back on stage wearing their SMTOWN shirts while playing around with gifts from their fans.
Overall, it was very pleasant to have Girls’ Generation perform at the biggest K-pop concert ever to be held in Indonesia. “SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Jakarta” was definitely a very unforgettable moment for all fans in Indonesia, so we hope to see them perform here again soon!
The next stop for the upcoming “SMTOWN Live World Tour III” concert tour will be in Singapore on November 23rd.

I was there. the concert was awesome.
it feels great seeing them all together in front of me.hehehe
omo omo omo omo…..the concert sounded interesting, and full of fun man! wished i could be there. :(
OMOOOOOOO!! I WAS THERE! First time seeing them live, and when my bias, TAEYEON, came right in front of me, I was so speechless I didn’t shout her name, I didn’t take a close picture of her, I forgot and finally didn’t get the chance to give her a gift that I had prepared from a week before…and that was because I was so amazed by her beauty! I’m bit disappointed that I couldn’t give her the gift, but that night will still be the BEST night ever! Keep doing your best SNSD! Saranghaeyo!
Hey, which area were you at? :) Mosh pit?
I was thereee!!! One of my dreams comes true.I’ve always watching them from media but yesterday I watched them live!! It was one of the most of the most amazing night I’ve ever had in my life. We sang happy birthday song to Hyoyeon 언니, and when they’re singing Genie, and Tiffany said “INDONESIA , PUT IT BACK ON!!!!”, the whole people in the stadium was like “KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~” very very loudly and of course so am I. And on the last song “Hope” Yuri 언니 and Hyoyeon 언니 playfully dancing on the stage. I like it so much!!
Their beauty, performance, togetherness, charisma was undoubtedly incredibly AWESOME!! I really hope that they would like to come again next year. 소녀시대 언니들 다시 인도네시아로 오세요. 우리는 항상 소녀시대 언니들 기다리고 있습니다.
사랑해~~
Hi SONE! need your advise please! i am going to attend SMTown concert in spore Nov 23rd. i am goin to buy the Mosh Pit ticket, so based on your experienced for those who had went to SMTown concert before, should i buy the side standing (left or Right) or centre standing for the mosh pit?? thank you very much… :D
Well, every side have their pros and cons but i personally think it will be better if you buy the centre one since you will have a wider range to see when they run along the stage and of course they perform a lot at the centre. I was at the left side yesterday and I kinda missed a lot during the ending part since they mostly interact in the centre
Centre standing! in there i saw soshi member so close :D
THANK U SO MUCH KAYANDRA AND ENOOOPS :D Greatly appreciated it!!!! okay, i will choose the centre one !!! OMG i cant wait to see them!!!! i am super duper excited :D
SNSD Fighting SONE Fighting :D

Hope to see Girls Generation come here again soon…
I was one of many fans watching this concert.. their performances were excellent, above expectation.. I am greatly thankful the girls came to jakarta for the first time.. hopefully, next year, they will put indonesia as one of the countries visited :) GG jjang!
“Indonesia, put it back on!” kyaaa~
I was there and it was an amazing night. I think it was the best night I ever had. Haha..
The most memorable moment is when Tiffany said “Indonesia, put it back on!” and then, imo, every one in the stadium were shouting. It was so loud and it made me thrilled. LOL.. The second one is when TTS performed twinkle. Idk, if in other countries, the fans from other idols will be very cooperative or not but one thing for sure, while TTS sang twinkle, I think most ppl in the stadium who knew the lyric were singing together. It’s not a short phrase but they sang along. FYI, most of the ppl who watched SMT in Jkt are ELF. If you were there, you would notice it immediately because you will see blue light stick ocean. Haha.. But the positive side is they always cheered enthusiastically no matter who was performing.
Btw thx soshified for making a preview news abt SMT in Jkt. Hehe..
i was there…!!!! my dream come true…at last i can see my nine angels live…!!! not from my pc again..,wooohoooooo….^_^
