Girls’ Generation released their third album “The Boys” today along with a music video for the English version of the title track. “The Boys” has already been gaining a lot of attention in the US.
Radio host and TV personality, Ryan Seacrest, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show with millions of listeners, On Air With Ryan, featured the girls and their new song on his website as a top story. As Jen Erza writes for their article, “This South Korean girl group by the name of Girls’ Generation released an English version of their latest music video “The Boys” that we absolutely love! It’s a foot-stomping, head-crackin’, and girl-powered track sung by nine girls that everyone needs to hear.”
Also, at the time of this article, the song has soared into the top 100 songs on iTunes at #77, and is currently at #33 on the top Pop Songs on iTunes.
As expected, Girls’ Generation recorded an all-kill on the Korean charts with “The Boys” taking #1 on every real-time chart. As if an all-kill weren’t enough, the rest of “The Boys” album’s songs were highly ranked as well. On Soribada, the first three spots were Girls’ Generation with a total of seven songs in the top ten. Olleh Music had nine out of the top ten as Girls’ Generation songs. Bugs saw all top ten spots go to Girls’ Generation.
It seems all eyes are on Girls’ Generation now, and the girls will be able to showcase their talents in the US this weekend at SMTOWN Live in New York at Madison Square Garden.
You can purchase “The Boys” single on iTunes and Amazon. If you haven’t ordered the album already, you can order at YesAsia(without poster) and with poster. Also, Soshified is organizing a bulk order with Korean fansites, so check that out in this thread.

The girls are soaring high but I know they’ll remain the same. This is an outstanding achievement for a kpop girl group. I’m so proud of their maturity as girls and as artists. Can’t stop playing The Boys!
I haven’t been here for a long long while. Well, this surely pulled me back in. I’m thinking of getting a copy of the album. :D omg, sunkyu.

girls generation are awesome!! especially taeyeon!
SNSD Taking over, One chart at a time !
The MV is great, the song is very nice. After I heard the song the second time, I love it.
I think the concept is a little different from what the previous songs have. The feel is more mature and serious compared to the fun, teen concept like for Oh! and Gee.
The girls are not afraid to try something new, and they have done well.
Apprecite the hard work our 9irls done.
I’m so happy for them! The girls will definitely kill all the competition. :))
SNSD are awesome!!!!!
@Franimal: I think that’s expected, really. We have such high expectations for them sometimes that if they don’t live up to them then of course we’ll be disappointed. :]
I’m glad they’re being well received in Korea, and they are slowly climbing up the iTunes chart. I’ll be thankful just for the girls to get at least -some- recognition though.
that’s the whole issue. people are being so narrow-minded. “oh it’s not kpop, its american pop, so it stinks. this is all teddy riley’s fault because he’s american.” that’s bordering on bigotry. i mean, how ridiculous is that! the girls haven’t failed because the bar was set so high. give it some time and you will see that they easily cleared it.
a little heated right now…can’t you tell…HAHA!
another point…it was all fine and good when
international sones where listening to and loving
the girls sing kpop, but when the girls’ sing a little
different pop for the international sones, the native
fans immediately start bashing them?! come on man!
Getting Ryan Seacrest’s praise is no joke. A TON of music lovers in America listen to his show and that will certainly help publisize them even further. I’m actually thrilled to hear that they were mentioned on his show with such high regard.
This is GLOBAL GENERATION~! Bring it on,Music shows!
They’re getting recognized for their hard work that they put into this album <3
As expected from our girls :D
wow! congratulations to the girls. they have proven once again that they are the best girl group of today’s generation. :) kudos to them.
WORLD DOMINATION<3
DOES THAT SOUNDS GOOD TO YOU<3333
friggin’ awesome stuff girls! awesome stuff! you have put in
the blood, sweat, and tears, and can now reap the reward!
unbelievable stuff!
now, i’m gonna get on my soap box for a bit, which i hate doing,
but i am really taken aback by the negativity amongst sones. i
am a football-playing, steak-eating american man, and one of the
first snsd songs i ever heard was oh!. it was awkward at first, but
i gave it time and came to love it. i didn’t immediately spew how
bad it was all over the internet! talk about adding fuel to the anti
fire! everyone across the pacific has to be a little more open-minded,
patient, and overall less selfish. otherwise, all us international sones
are gonna learn even more about asian culture, and a lot of it won’t
be good. song rocks! teddy riley rocks! girls rock! end of story.
