Stay Girls is a song to Sones, a song to saying goodbye to their So Nyuh years, a song to embrace their womanhood. :') Because my dear nine, no matter how you grow into ladies, you will forever be that funny, dorky So Nyuh Shi Dae in my heart. <3

This marks my third anniversary with the girls and yes, the journey so far has never sounded longer. But still I felt that the years has just flown by, and each time I see the girls on the computer screen is just like the very first time Seohyun took my breath away in Gee.

For those who are unable to understand the significance of the 5th anniversary and are intending to take this anniversary like any other one, please don’t. 5 years of peace, progress, and more importantly, staying together as a 9 while keeping true to their personalities isn’t just something you get even after years of hard work. The number 5 is not all the wrong, but it is not exactly short either. We stand in the middle of a group’s life expectancy: 10 years. We can no longer see the start, but we don’t really know when it ends. It doesn’t feel like 5 years, really. Every single time when I watch GGTS, it feels just like yesterday.

When the girls started out, majority who were in the Kpop world back in 2007 never really took them seriously, all expecting the group of 9 to break within three years. But ironically their third year was the boom of Kpop, and currently as one of the most senior groups of the industry, the 5th anniversary of Girls’ Generation is not just about the girls, but a mark of how far Kpop has come and how far it managed to go. The journey on from here is pretty much unknown terrains since no one has ever made it this far this smoothly and it’s the very first time in history Kpop was this successful, but I am sure it will be beautiful.

Together as a fandom, we have progressed so much. Like everyone else, I wasn’t at the start of the journey, just hoping on in the middle as the train sped along the tracks. It’s like the bullet trains in Japan, it moves really fast, but you don’t feel a thing. I feel so very sorry for not being at the start, not being there for the girls at the 2008 Black Ocean, not being there for the girls at their 2009 Gee winning streak at Music Bank, but I am thankful enough to be there to watch the girls debut in Japan, to grow from teenagers into young ladies, especially Seohyun. The scenery so far has been very pretty, but I have to say this amidst the festivities – Sones should never be complacent about it. We don’t really ever know what is coming up for us. We don’t know whether we will be alive the next day. I don’t think this is a problem to the older Sones, but to the newer Sones who just boarded the train, welcome, and enjoy it while it lasts, hold tight and still to your seat when it rains outside. But even when it rains, it will still be warm inside the train, for we are all in this together.

The people who make up the fandom – Sones. I have been very blessed to meet nice people that I am proud to call my friends in the fandom. It is very heartening for me to see people from all around the world, come together, and talk to each other, even though we may never meet each other, all in the name of Girls’ Generation. The way it connects and bond people together – it’s actually very magical, no?

Lastly, to my girls, Taeyeon Jessica Sunny Tiffany Hyoyeon Yuri Sooyoung Yoona Seohyun, happy 5th anniversary, and may all 9 of you stay together for the rest of your lives as you grow old, find a boyfriend, get married, become a mom etc. Sones will always be there for you, right till the very end. Thank you for always putting us as a ruling factor in all that you do, thank you for even existing as a 9, and thank you for creating this very magical journey for all of us.

Because we are forever 9.

You might find the following fanaccount similar to another three fanaccounts posted here in SSF. But oh well, different perspective of things, nevertheless. :)Very detailed and long, read on with my warning. ^^

So when we heard SNSD were coming for MAMA despite the fact that their concert in Singapore is only one week apart, we decided to ditch MAMA for their concert, partly due to monetary reasons while another being MAMA couldn't confirm the remaining setlist at all. But after they arrived, my Twitter was spammed with tweets about how some of the people I know met the girls etc and made me really jealous. Soshi was on the very same piece of land as me but yet seemed so far. Eventually I made the decision to head to Marina Bay Sands (MBS), the hotel that they are staying at, to try my luck with any Kpop star. Or at least feel a bit of the Hallyu wave for the short three days.

I arranged with my fellow Sone friend, Dum-angel, to meet as early as 7.45AM as there was rumours they will be out by 8. Turned out that she was late and I had to be on my own until she arrives at MBS directly to meet me. We saw a A Pink member, but I wasn't really sure who and she didn't have make up on early at around 8+. We also saw Ryewook who was walking back to his tower lobby slightly later. But no sign of any stars thereafter and we have been waiting for at least two hours straight in an area marked out by MBS as "Fan gazing area" which was just right in front of the tower 2 lobby. Sounds awful, really. And nope, they didn’t come out at 8 but I think it was rather morning call for them.

There were two girls in the “fan gazing area” who booked a room in MBS in the same tower, which means they had the pass to use the hotel facilities freely. They said they saw the girls many times and also other Kpop stars as they were are situated in the same tower. That’s because they can use their room keycard as a pass and start going random floors, and there was a high chance of meeting the stars. Listening to them made us really jelly and me and Dum-angel decided to head to the convention centre opposite the hotel to catch a glimpse of them before press conference. But to no avail as the security was very tight for the event. Anyway, here's a photo of something rather interesting.



Yes, the stars have breakfast in a separate ballroom where all the food will be transported there. I actually thought they might have booked a restaurant down instead so fans can actually head there to star-gaze. XD Back to the point. We got a phone call from another friend who was at the so-called fan gazing area that someone managed to get Tiffany's autograph and we immediately rushed back after walking aimlessly in the shopping mall area trying to find out of any secret passages we aren't aware of.

We took a rest and had a look at the autograph. We were really butthurt, seriously. Any Sone in that area would be jealous of her. Apparently, she got the autograph when she was using her friend's pass to access the lifts and met Tiffany by chance. We knew right then we have to get ourselves into the tower if we really wish to meet any of them, regardless Soshi or not, and the stars will never come out by the main lift lobby at all. Waiting in the fan gazing area isn’t going to work out either.

Me and Dum-Angel decided to walk to another tower without the guards, since the tower the stars are at have been very heavily guarded and even barricaded off while the other two towers’ lift lobby were left free. Another two Sones, Brian and Ming decided to join us, and with our soshi goodies and markers in hand, we set off not knowing what will happen. Reaching the unguarded tower, we realised we needed the pass before the lift will work. You need to scan your hotel room key then press the floor you wish to head to or it won't work. We then followed a random MAMA official who had the card and I quickly pressed the highest possible floor after he scanned his card. (MBS is so tall you have to change lifts at certain floors if you wish to progress higher. No kidding.)

We somehow managed to get ourselves to the Skypark where Singapore's famous rooftop swimming pool was and by luck, met Brian's relative who had the access card. Seriously speaking, that was the moment we knew there was hope to meet Soshi or perhaps, any of the stars. We walked along the Skypark, which was the first for most of us and took photos, admiring the view. Then we heard fangirls screaming. It was Simon D. He's really handsome, by the way. I braved and led the pack ahead of all the fangirls to ask for an autograph on my sketch book after he was done with the photos and he signed mine and Dum-angel's, who was closely behind me. That's all. He didn't sign for any of the fangirls and one eventually cried as he made his way into the lift. Sorry fangirls!

We waited for another lift and made our way down too. We met Simon D again on the storey where you change lifts and he came into the same lift with us after failing to wait for a lift of his own. I don’t think I will reveal which floor did his room was at. Here's where the magic happens.

"Which floor?"

"Anything lahh."

me: *presses 35* (I was closest to the panel of buttons, that’s why)

And when the lift opened, we just walked out. There were three ladies standing outside who politely moved to one side and allowed us to walk out first. Their skins were really white so I thought it was another Korean.

Then I realised their faces were awfully familiar when I walked passed them.

So. Nyuh. Shi. Dae.

There, right in front of me, was Taeyeon, Yoona and Sooyoung in that order. I stunned for a second, started shaking and went, "Oh, annyeonghasaeyo." The rest began piling out slowly and Taeyeon bowed backed and said annyeonghasaeyo too, then smiled. (DIE) Then I looked at Yoona. Then Sooyoung while they were walking in. We kept saying hi and the girls greeted Simon D as they went in. Dum-angel kept waving to Sooyoung as the lift closed and Sooyoung gave that shocked look but eventually smiled a little as the lift was about to close. Yoona walked into the lift normally though. She looked kinda pissed/tired? I don't really know what that expression meant.

And after the lift closed we totally died. We muffled our screaming since we are along the rooms and started jumping around. I totally went jelly and kneeled on the floor, shaking from what just happened. They were really really really really (okay you get my meaning) pretty. Like dolls. Their make up is actually very thick close up and smelled sweet. They were already in the new white outfits that they wore for both the press conference and MAMA with their knee-high boots. Taeyeon was really small and petite beside Sooyoung and Yoona, slightly taller then me by a bit with her killer heels while Sooyoung was basically towering over me. I am around 163cm, wearing sneakers then. Do the math.(no insoles, relax)

So while we were spazzing, the lift opened again. Yes, again. While we were all being crazy jumping around, and me, crying. (don't ask why I cry so much. LOL)

And Seohyun walked out.

I kinda stunned for a moment like what I did when I saw Taeyeon but it was even longer. (She's my bias, so yeahh, imagine that!) I chased after her while the rest said Yuri was in the lift too. (So I didn't get to meet Yuri actually. ) Dum-angel asked if she could help us sign and she said yes. Omg, the way she looked directly in my eyes with her perfect face... I really died inside. And to top it off she's my bias. Like OTL. She began asking for our names and started spelling no less, all in English. We then told her that her English was really good, I mean, honestly. The prounounciation isn't off or anything, but recognisable on an international standard. I got her to sign on my Into The New World album (yes, really) and she had trouble with my name like Simon D, then spelled the same alphabet wrongly. But I don't really care or mind because when you romanize it from Korean, its correct. Dum-angel then told Seohyun we were from Soshified and will be going to the concert and she went, "Oh, really? That's great." and continued signing, then told her that I am a really great fan of her and she looked at me. I plucked up some courage and said, in Korean,

"Unnie chinja neomu yeppo da."

She smiled, then said "Ahh,kamsahaminda." Oh, then she giggled. I think it's because of my weird Korean. (I was about to cry anytime.)

FANGIRL DIES HERE/

We asked if we could take photos, but she said it so apologetically "Sorry... no photos" and it was pretty soft. We understood and immediately kept our cameras (poor things, if you think of it. Everyday they face cameras and flash clicking away) Dum-angel asked for a second one to be on The Boys album while I asked for my second one to be on the Vita500 bromide I brought with me as a fan board. After signing all we thanked her really profusely and she left for her room. Yeahh, we saw her walking into a room but we can't be sure if that's her room. If it was, then it is not a presidential suite like what rumours have been going on. And I don't think it's realistic anyway. The presidential suites are located at another tower, in case you don't know. Photos below!

We headed to the other end of the corridor and into the staircase area and totally crumbled then. I cried so hard like what I expect myself of when I first meet them while the three of them were spazzing. We sat down on the floor and started tweeting about our encounter while trying to calm down. (we had a heck of mentions. Everyone was like "ARE YOU SERIOUS"?!) All of those took place in perhaps, less then 15 minutes. We saw Seohyun walking out of the room, or should I say, strutting out because the way she walked isn't like us but very slowly and her legs cross each other with every step. Very slow and elegantly and this time, with a bag. We won't confirm that's her room or not since that could just be another room for make-up and she left her bag there or something.

And after lounging for awhile we took the lift back down to the first floor and out by the heavily guarded exit. There was this certain pride in me and honestly, I will never forget this day. Walking past the awful fan gazing area with two Seohyun autographs in hand is like I have accomplished something really big. *giggles*

I think you deserved it. Honestly. Waiting for them since 11.30PM is just crazy. I believe you didn't get much sleep right? 1st in queue, that counts for something.

And yes, like you, I believe its fate if we meet the girls. As much as everyone here hoping to meet the girls, I think we should let fate guide us. If we are fated to meet, we will.

BUT OMG YOU HUGGED TIFFANY. LIKE HUG. OMG. I have heard tons of fan accounts saying how strict the security and managers are but you got to hug her! That, on another note, counts for something as well. ^^

Haha not really. She studies in a normal school but was forced to take art as a subject even though she doesn't have any artistic talent in her or anything. >.< Do continue drawing though, it doesn't have to surpass these drawings but more of how each drawing look so real.

Oh so you are the sone who got featured! My sister, who is currently an art student says she's really envious of your drawing abilities! 3 hours... that's fast. It can take my sister a whole day to work on a drawing. Okay, maybe she isn't all that talented.

BUt I would say your "crazy" dream of having these hung in their dorm may actually be possible. It's too great to miss! Are you intending to draw any more of the girls' potraits? I thought it would be good to make full use of your talent as a Sone.
