From the way they sound, they are so mature!
They answered every question honestly and showed their true selves to the interviewer!
They're so brave.. It must've taken alot of courage to be yourself in front of the whole world.. ^^

That was an awesome interview! Thank you so much for posting it. Something about the answers the girls gave was very raw and genuine. Was it just me or did the interviewer never cite who said what?

wow. I really like this interview. This is the only "serious" interview I have ever read about them. And its kinda sad that maknae had to give up her dream to be a lawyer, I bet she could be one heck of an awesome lawyer. You can't fool yourself and deny the fact that SNSD will be disbanned in a few years time, because, well... its called GIRLS Generation for a reason, but SNSD will rock on forever in my heart! <3

i know it's kinda late but this is like the best interview that i have ever read. thank you for the translation. all the antis and people who still think that idols are just a bunch of spoiled brainless beauties have to read this article. #RespectYourIdol ! I know it. If all what they have were just looks, they wouldn't be able to change my life to be like what i am right now. I GREW my love for them, it was not an instant process. They are my inspiration, truly define the world "idol". ;)

I really like how they define their life of an idol.... it's just actually the same like all of us. we go to school, then go to college, and through competitions managed to land a job, probably started out in a very low position, and then rise to the top if you do well. they're just exactly the same, the only difference is just they started much more earlier (hence ended earlier), anything under this sky is not immortal, all have age.

For those who think that I ,and maybe some of us, only admire idols just because of their looks, need to lick their words back. These girls have proven themselves as worthy successful figures to be looked and learned upon.

Thats what I love about them they are always Honest..

(I was surprised at their honesty. The expected answer, â??I want to be recognized as a singerâ? was wrong again. Their goal is to be good at Math and Science.)

If you don't love what your doing you'll give up easily.. =P

What an interview, I'm sure to all who read this interview are attracted towards SNSD even more. I challenge you with this question, "Do you feel the Bond between Soshi and S♥NE grew even stronger?" I felt like I was attracted towards SNSD with a stronger force. What caught my attention the most is that they do not compete with each other instead they helped and encouraged each other to do better , not being the best by oneself but being the best together as a group.

I just read this interview for the first time. If I hadn't checked the date of when this translation was posted, I would have believed this to be a recent interview in 2011.

Reading this interview is definitely refreshing. Lol I'm having a really really good time re-reading all these old transcripts. The reporter isn't a fan (I conclude from his comments), and that's what makes this more interesting. These days, the girls seem really well-liked that some interviews are always conducted by reporters who like the girls. Also, their answer to the breakup question still makes me think until this moment. This was three years ago and the recent interviews have the girls saying that they'll forever be SNSD. Well, like what Taeyeon said, if you're not one of them, then you won't understand.. :)

I got to here from the quote box.

It's really IMPRESSIVE how girls were already so spirited 3 years ago.

I'm a brand new SONE, when I search their past, I just find the roots of everything I've experienced at the SM Town Paris Concert.

I hope they'll go far, very far.

Like Taeyeon said in her self talk in AAGG, she hopes we won't have to be ashamed of being a SONE anywhere anyhow. I feel like this goal has already been achieved a long time before when I read this interview ...

I felt like crying after I read this. Here SNSD is presented not as the innocent, almost naive girls they usually seem to be but as mature, serious, and intellectual women. Even though the reporter seems to be quite skeptical of the honesty and truthfulness of their answers, SNSD still shines through with their unique and heart-felt answers.

It's sort of eye-opening to read from SNSD's own words of their trials and hardships they went through on their road to fame, even without the guarantee that they'd be able to debut. Being part of SNSD isn't all just fun and games. It's hard work, exhaustion, and pain. They give up all their previous aspirations and dreams for this one career where they get bashed, made fun of, and criticized. Even their "fans" take the opportunities to bash and fight, and SNSD has to even post apologies on their website. They keep on going even when some would never recommend this path for ones they love, and they're so completely self-less. And yet the road to actually expressing or becoming themselves is steep, because everything they do is carefully monitored and scrutinized by the public. Being part of SNSD means work and more work without a minute's reprieve from fans, antis, or in fear of scandals.

And for all this, I greatly commend SNSD. I'm amazed that their hearts, minds, and bodies and strong enough to withstand all this and that they can continue to do what they have declared that they love. And because of that, I greatly admire SNSD and will continue to be their fan forever.

SNSD fighting!!
