Hello, this is Jessica.
On September 29th, I was notified by my company that I was being withdrawn from Girls’ Generation. I can’t hide my confused and upset heart, and want to express my position.
As a member of Girls’ Generation, I’ve put Girls’ Generation’s activities before my personal life and business. However, despite my hard work and dedication for the group, I was notified to leave the group by my company.
While planning my business that I’ve personally had lots of interest in for a while, I’ve sufficiently discussed things and sought understanding about my business with the SM company and members a number of times, from the beginning to recent times. Well there is lot to know about business news at insidemma.
Early August, up until the launch of BLANC, I received consent and approval from SM about carrying out my business [alongside group activities]. I received congratulations from my members and started the business.
However, only one month after the launching, in early September, the members changed their positions and they called a meeting. After that, without proper reason, they requested for me to choose to either quit my business or to leave Girls’ Generation. I explained that I received permission from the company, I hadn’t neglected Girls’ Generation’s activities, and that I couldn’t end my business after one month of launching due to a contract with my business partner. As a result, I said that choosing is an unfair request.
Becoming a Girls’ Generation member has been the greatest thing in my life, and I never thought about quitting. I was taken aback, met with the company’s CEO on September 16th, and told them my position. The company’s consent regarding my running of the company [alongside group activities] was reconfirmed at this meeting.
However, on September 29th, I received a one-sided notification by the company to leave Girls’ Generation. Through that, I was not able to attend the fan meeting at Shenzhen, China that was planned for the next day, September 30th, and I’ve been excluded from all of Girls’ Generation’s activities thereafter.
More that anything, I’ve been hurt a great amount by my colleagues and the company that I spent over 15 years together with, pouring out my passion and affection, requesting that I leave Girls’ Generation because I’m running a business, and I cannot hide my regrettable feelings.
I want to apologize to the fans for making them worry. I would like for it to be understood that this situation is not what I wanted, and that I’ve always valued Girls’ Generation, and I always will. Thank you for always supporting and loving me unconditionally.

As many others have said, it is almost impossible for Jessica to return to SNSD in the future now. Was just simply wishing her success in the future in her personal endeavors.
If she has to leave SNSD, regardless of the method, we should wish her amazing success.
We have had 7 years of the SNSD 9, very successful for a K-Pop group. Several members are already dating, Jessica wants to get married, at some point the group will move on to other projects and adulthood.
SM obviously didn’t trust Jessica to balance her new business with SNSD activities, they may have been correct in this, and that is why the 8 members agreed with SM to let Jessica go. However, they didn’t handle it well, firing her, instead of giving her a send-off and a thank you for years of efforts.
please sone..give support and respect snsd and jessica.
if there’s no one of the eight talking right now, it has to be a reason they keep silent. it isn’t an easy talk, they must be prepared well in any condition. Once they speak up, there’s still doubtful evrywhere, let them be, there’s a time.

It saddened me to read the announcements from the last 2 days.
You’ll be missed as one of the 9 SNSD members. You’ll be missed at performances, fan gatherings, MV’s. Your high pitched vioce will be missed in the songs still to come.
On the other hand.. I wish you all the best with BLANC and what might follow business wise. I hope BLANC will become a name or big name in the fashion world. In Korea and world wide. I hope that we’ll get to see you now and then on shows like Running Man, So Happy Together and Hello Counselor. I just hope, because you turn out to be not a member anymore of SNSD, that KBS, SBS,.. won’t forget about you. You’re still THE Jessica Jung.

Hopefully they now realise what a huge mistake this was and they can resolve this issue. The way I look at it if they do nothing GG will be as good as dead. I can’t see that there will be that much of a fan base left after this.
I hate to say it but if Jessica doesn’t come back to GG then that might be it for me:(
I just listened to the Fancam of Complete from the Shenzhen fan meet and to put it bluntly it sounded incomplete. Parts of Jessica vocals weren’t sung at all and other parts were sung by other member, but no member can emulate Jessica’s voice so those parts sounded flat and lifeless and that was just one song. I can’t imagine what it would be like sitting through a concert without Jessica singing her parts of the songs:

I’m really sad seeing this. I have never imagined this day would come and to my precious 9 girls, the only kpop girl group that i love. Sometimes people changed and she herself doesn’t know that her changing become a burden to other people. When i saw jessi’s statement i was really angry to other members, i even posted some harsh words on IG to them. But to think it again, jessi might has changed to the point that the 8 others can’t advice her anymore. She might pays too much attentions to her own business and addicted to it and unconsciously neglected her members, she might has asked her self but couldn’t find the real answer for this problem but to put the blame to other members whom she has known for years.
I have been through this path in life, when i started to think the different thing from my best friend and we had a huge argument, they said I’ve changed and I argued back that I am not. They loved me that’s why they honestly advised me, and bestfriends always use harsh words but I mistaken those kindness into blaming words. I mistaken them and they were really disappointed but couldn’t do anything.
Jessi maybe is in my previous position right now when she is the one who left so she might think the others are blaming her for reaching her dream but she has no idea that she pays too much attention to that dream to the point she needs to lose her precious people in life.
We, people couldn’t live alone, we need a lot parties in life. Pursuing your dream is not wrong but sometimes you are doing it TOO MUCH.
Jessi, i know you’re hurt but the girls are too, you’ve known them for years, you are the only one who know the, the best beside us SONEs who are just outsiders. I hope you all, 9 girls talk it out calmly and peacefully without hurting one another’s heart. I am in no position to advice you, but as human i have those thoughts.
Sones, the only way we can make a difference is to voice together. Only 33,000 signature on the petition at Change.org Keep Jessical in SNSD! If you care enough go sign it. Only with hundreds of thousands of signatures will SM pay attention. Millions and they might change their attitude. This and stop giving them money are the only options as fans to make a difference and quickly.

As to those who are asking who Tyler Kwon is, he’s an important CEO who has invested a lot in Jessica’s fashion brand “Blanc”, due to that they have been seen together numerous time.
It is also rumored (only rumored, and we don’t usually put this info here but since you asked I’ll just tell you what I know), that he’s been dating Jessica for over a year, and that they’re planning to getting married. (nothing has been confirmed, rather Tyler Kwon has already released a statement saying he doesn’t have plans of marriage for the time being).

I hope at least one of the 8 girls make a statement soon because people seem to be making conclusions about how it all happened and have already heaped a whole lot of blame on the remaining girls and it really makes me upset when people make SNSD out to be fake when they don’t know the real situation.
Deep down I’m still hoping Jessica would come back to SNSD even though this happened (my arguments with my sisters get serious but eventually it blows over in about 2 months…) maybe this is the groups only massive fight and then after they will make up and be closer than ever?
WOW, I am shocked and stunned. All we read about and watched were how the 9 sisters wanted and would stay together. To hear that they voted her out is just unfathomable. It was my life long goal to see GG in concert. Now it will never happen.
Its really hard to watch the whole thing unravel, and after Jessica’s statement I really don’t see her going back to GG. As others have said she really did say thing that would make it hard for GG members to forgive. Im not sure who to really blame since we as fans don’t know the whole story that led up to this unfortunate event, SM would be the favorite to blame in this case but we may never know the entire truth. All I know is its truly a very sad day for all fans of GG.

I dont get it why people are blaming the 8 members. Although I really believe Jessica’s statement was legit, their decision did not just happen overtime. They really thought about this. They are mature girls. And I believe this decision was harder for them than for us, their feelings for each other is genuine, that is one thing that I still believe. I think Jessica did unconsciously act in a way that made the others feel this way.
My take on this situation was that at first the other 8 was at ease cause Jessica told them it wouldn’t affect GGs schedules but in the long run, the opposite might have happened. Members having other activities like dramas, radio shows, programs, were under SM management so SM had control over their schedules and conflicts on GG activities can be avoided most of the time but Jessica’s was personal, SM cant do anything when her schedule conflicts with GGs commitments. we might have forgotten that aside from the activities we see in front of the camers, GG also does something behind it. They are preparing for their TOKYO DOME concert, and this is their dream concert, they are probably preparing this already, and remember they are more involved now in their acts as presented by TTS album “Holler”, somehow maybe the members felt Jessica couldnt attend the preparations anymore, the meetings they had, so they thought GG was not her priority. Although Jessie didnt actually mean to do it, but it happens. Remember that they have become successfully due to they have devoted their time with GG without having other personal activities. Maybe they think that all of them also want to follow their dreams, but felt that they couldnt at this time because they still want to promote GG, that is why they thought Jessica was too early with her decision. They have made a lot of sacrifices just to make GG what it is right now, somehow they might feel that Jessie didnt think of the same goal that they have as compared before, as a team its very important that you have the same goals if not then conflicts arise.
Its sad to blame the 8 members, we know them to very wise, sensible and mature people, very passionate about their job. This decision was difficult for them it was something that I feel they have no choice. They wanted to show us their teamwork, good performances, good music but it wont happen if they are not united with one goal.
I think this is the wisest comment I’ve seen so far, and I’m with you, I do believe that Jessica could feel back-stabbed with what has happened, but I think that’s also been the case with the other party. They are friends, sisters even, and it must have been a very hard decision to take, but in the end, GG is what it is today due to hard-work, and I’m sure Jessica wanted to stay but in the end couldn’t make it to everything, thus causing today’s situation.
We have always known that they have crazy schedules, and it would have been unprofessional of them to keep going this way.
I will keep supporting Jessica from now on, and I will keep supporting GG, to me, they’ll always be a “whole”, even if they part ways in the future. My only wish now is that they can talk things calmly between each other and keep remaining friends, friendship conquers all, right?

I feel very sad and even so since Jessica has decided to go public with this problem when it should be solved privately. When you divulge issues like this to public and to media, a lot of speculations are being raised and those involved will be even more hurt and affected by what they hear.
Since Jessica provided also her one sided statement, it appears that people have been judging the others. I felt she couldnt care less any more about GGs image that theyve worked hard and destroyed it, If she cared about her members that were left she shouldnt have done this. The girls cant defend themselves due to restraints from the company. I hope that people realize her statement is only one side of the story, it doesnt explain why, what, or how this became the 8 members decision, what pushed them to do such thing. I pity the girls espescially the maknaes, yoona and seohyun, I feel they are very good dongsaengs and to must have done this must be very hard. Jessica is in pain and her pain causes her do irrational thinks. I hope they get past this and be like family again.
I seriously cant listen to their songs right now, I listen to them everyday, but now I just cant. I have never fangirled any celebrity before, only them, and to see them like this it hurts me.

Since yesterday i always assume that Jessica is willing to do GG but she just don’t manage her time wisely, which the company and the member saw it as sica have a different goal as them. But since sica post her opinion this morning, my mind blown and i don’t know what to do, that’s why i’m afraid to think this way.
Since i have a similar case with my partner. We’re close friend, really close. We have been friend for 3 years but it feels like forever, both of us have a same interest and dream which we want to make it come true. But because some issues, she have to manage her family business then she have to left me for 2 years study. She said that she still willing to work on our original dream, but as the time goes by, she lost her focus and it’s breaking me to see her. So with a heavy heart i told her that she don’t have to work hard on our dream, she can manage her business. We’re still friend and I always wish for her luck

Dude your comment is probably the most thoughtful and neutral arguement I’ve seen so far. Most people (especially fans) are taking sides either with jessica or the other 8 members and start blaming the opp side, which totally sadden me as I love both side as much. Your points finally gave me a glimpse at basically what was happening to them back then in august.
I understand what you meant because I had a similar argument with a friend of mine before. I’ve known him for like 3-4 years, although I like him (not gay) because he’s quite clever and humorous. However he always break his promises sub-consciously which frustrated me a lot. Like sometimes he promised me that we can go hangout and later that day he said hes busy with some ridiculous excuse, or going to gym together but after I’ve been in the gym for an hour I found out that hes yet again “busy” with some excuses. These are mostly small things however once they add up they really pisses me off cuz I feel like he’s like toying with me and treat me like nothing important. Hence one day I kinda exploded on him and almost ended up not becoming friends anymore.
He told me that he never meant it and never thought it would causes me to feel the way I did and that he apologize for it. At first I was still angry at him so I didn’t accept his apologies and continue ranting at him which also frustrated him as well. So we had a big argument that lead up to me saying lets not be friends anymore. But after a while later when my tempers cools off I started to understand what he meant and feel like I should also take a step back. Thus we manage to become friends once again as both sides take a step backwards.
I think this is whats happening in GG, jessica may not meant it and she considers herself doing her jobs for the team but actually it hurts other members’ feeling. Although they can put up with it in the beginning, as time passes these small things add up which causes they to belief that Jessica is not focusing on the group anymore rather on her own business. Thus they want her to make a decision between the group and individual which surprised jessica since in her point of view, she never meant it that way and that she was already doing everything for the group too. Thus resulting in this.
This is basically just a big argument between them, it is a clear miss understood between the members and miss-communications that lead to both side no being able to understand each other. If only they could both take a step backwards, then they might be able to figure things out and find solution to it. However in this case there is not just two sides, there is also a third side- SM. I feel like SM consider Jessica’s act as an offense that hurts the companies’ profit, so they sped up the whole process, not giving the group time to sort everything out themselves and forces Jessica and the members to make a decision, which ultimately lead to this today.
So I think that the blame can go both sides as both sides have done something wrong, if only they could have time to clear this issue out things could go back to normal. But Jessica’s statement now imo was a bit relentless as now things is near impossible to turn back when she puts everything on the table in front of the public. Just sad how a seemingly small argument turn into such a huge problem in the group…

How sad it was to read Jessica’s statement. It leaves little doubt that Girls’ Generation will be an 8 member group from here on. Jessica destroyed almost any possibility of getting back together. As we say here in the States, “She threw the other 8 members under the bus!”. By clearly blaming the other 8, she drew a line that said if she comes back it will be on HER terms, with no room for compromise. I don’t see how the other 8 could accept that. It would be nice to see a statement from the 8, but I doubt if we will. Clearly the bond has been fractured, and Jessica just drove a wedge into it. It’s sad, but life moves on.

After reading Jessica’s statement and the suppose insider info dispatch is releasing, it’s looking like SM and the rest of SNSD knew and agreed to Jessica starting a business and pursuit her interest and possibly getting married. But the timing of it happening seem to be the problem, they didn’t think she would do it so soon and Jessica didn’t see it as a problem because they all knew and agreed to it and she believes her performance in SNSD won’t suffer. Next thing you know, one thing let to another, the members met and give Jessica their reasons for her to choose and Jessica didn’t think it was fair because they agreed to it already, the fact she was away running her business didn’t help the communication. Guess we can’t blame any one party for this mess. But I still think to kick Jessica out is a huge mistake, fans always believed SNSD will stay together like sisters forever, to shatter that image is a bigger loss than whatever scandal Jessica could have caused with her plans. It’s just not the same with 8 members.
I’m reminded of the time when Ice Cube left N.W.A. in 1989 due to financial issues. Just like Jessica and GG. Ice Cube is independent to this day. Dr. Dre finally left N.W.A a few years later. Jessica will survive this and a few other members, but most of GG will lose. I love GG and will always love GG. SNSD (the original 9) forever! But here are my predictions for the future. Jessica will survive, like Ice Cube. One will become bigger than Jessica, like Dr. Dre became bigger than Ice Cube. Seohyun! Others will find careers on TV, the biggest being Yoona. Taeyeon will continue to sing duets.
Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sooyoung, Seohyun and Tiffany or any of them eight must speak up. Their side and their stand must be known too. I can’t have myself to come to believe that they could–after everything they’ve been through–ditch Sica just like that (like how Sica said it in her statement). I am pretty sure it is SM’s doing. The stupid company is holding back the other eight. I hope they would get to have the courage soon to bring to the table their side of the story. Because their bond’s worth is far more than this.
