On August 21st, Seohyun graduated from Dongguk University, after four years majoring in theater. Seohyun attended the graduation ceremony in the traditional cap and gown and sat among her fellow students of the graduating class. Seohyun also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the school. Late last year, Seohyun had donated 100 million won to the university.

To congratulate her, the members of Girls’ Generation sent Seohyun a wreath with a message. The left side reads, “Group Girls’ Generation who owns a college graduate”, while the right side says, “Juhyun, we are proud of the breathless days of your past”. Seohyun had led a busy college life, often balancing school and her activities for Girls’ Generation. During her time as a student at Dongguk University, Seohyun traveled around the world for multiple tours and concerts, made dozens of trips to Japan for recordings and arena tours, appeared on “We Got Married”, performed in a musical and a television drama, and participated in all of Girls’ Generation’s albums, including “Twinkle”. Her free time away from Girls’ Generation was spent in school, making her quite the amazing idol.

Sooyoung also posted a photo of Seohyun as congratulations on her Instagram account with a message saying, “There’s a doll here? Congratulations, Seohyun. You’re really incredible. I admire you^_^”. Seohyun later posted on her own Twitter account, uploading several photos of herself in front of her flower wreaths. She tweeted, “To everyone who congratulated me on my graduation~ I sincerely thank you^^ I will work hard to continue to grow as a member of society with a sense of responsibility and duty~! Thank you again to the many professors who taught me so much along the way!! My peers!! I love you♡Thank you”.
