Wow. Another Japan Tour! But what’s bugging me is the World Tour.. It’s so spread out and the concert dates and venues are released intermittently.
Another Japanese concert? smh. *sigh*, why does this seem like a maneuver for SM to make money nowadays. I wish they would actually get on with their “world tour”, quite frankly its not a world tour if you haven’t left Asia yet for the past year. I don’t think the girls have any plan to venture into the US market at the moment, but it would still be nice to have them here for a solo concert, even if its at a smaller venue. I’m tired of waiting SM, make it happen.
LONDON- the center of European entertainment.!…that’s a dream come true if GG will have a worldwide concert there.they already dominated, Asia,Northern america and Paris(EU country)..but it’s not the same as having a concert in LONDON!Girls Generation is NOW,the emerging KPOP entertainer that can surpass PSY..if they can have a concert there…it’s a dream come true.Love to watch them live.they are ICONIC.
There goes my hope that they will have a concert in my country next year. I don’t get why SM is so eager to please Japan. I mean, isn’t it proven already that they’re popular there? Their world tour isn’t even a “world tour”… and now they’re planning a Japan tour… again. SMH SM. SMH.
Japan tour again? Take 3? Japan is so lucky to have 3 concert tour. I want to go in japan to watch snsd concert.
Want to go Japan too. Waaa… so snsd concert has begin again soon. Yippie…. saving money…. yeay ! Hahahaha….
Shouldn’t they enjoy a bit of a break instead of touring again?
This is my last comment on this.
My wife and I have for two years now waited on GG to come to the States. We are tired of waiting. If SM Travel offers a package deal for the Hiroshima or Kobe concerts we may just suck up and go. The point I want to make is, Dallas to Tokyo air fare, hotel, food, car your talking $5000 minimum and neither SM nor GG sees a dime of that. They’re just going to see the few hundred we will spend on tickets and memorabilia. If they came to the states , we could spend it all their way.
My friend and I are also hoping they would come to the States…any state will do! Sadly who knows when that will happen. We were lucky to have flown to HK to see their concert but the process of getting tickets for it was ridiculous. The ticket site was buggy because once you select two tickets, they give you one ticket? WTH?!! Japan sones are so lucky. Anyway, maybe they will go to Vegas.
damn another japan tour? j-sones is so lucky. snsd have so many tour in japan. all the best to our angel 3rd japan tour.
the way they’re dress up makes me want to dress up like them and go party with them. i’m sure a party with Soshi is 1 never to be forgotten. goodluck girls on this 3rd tour and with success on both 3rd album and tour. those J-Sones are truly one of the luckiest apart from K-Sones who are the ultimate luckiest out of all the Sones around the world. i pray that they stay in good health and strength and be safe travelling and working to please their Sones. \o/ hwaiting Soshi!
kamsahamnida SSF :D
3rd Japan tour already? Wow.
They even haven’t finished yet their world tour.
I hope in their busy schedule, there will be another korean comeback.
I miss them so much.
But still, keep healthy girls! As long as you happy and enjot it, sone will always support you all.
Well hrm… this may put a damper on my Korea trip! I was thinking to go there between ~ April 20-30 next year but now I’m not so sure lol
Does anyone know when ticket purchase may be available and how I can purchase them? I am going on a long awaited trip to Japan in June and when I found out that they announced this I WAS SO EXCITED! I have a change to see them in person and it just makes me so so happy!!! :):):) I live in the state of Colorado in the USA so I thought I was never going to have a chance to see them, I AM SO EXCITED!!
email [email protected]
If they are going to offer tickets to international fans, that’s the address for info.
Otherwise you will have to read and write Japanese.
@Texassone Thank you so much!!! :) I will email them!! ^_^
@glider003 Most people just assume that when you release an album in America it is also recognized as a worldwide release in all English speaking markets and any album release in North America would filter though to South America, Canada, Europe, The UK, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. At the end of the day it’s more a case of who (SM and/or Interscope) is releasing the album not where and often worldwide releases involve multiple record companies and are often staggered releases. There are many reason why Universal (not SM) releases GG’s music in Japan.
I personally hope that whoever/whenever they release an English album that they offer the the same kind of limited edition and special packaging and bonus material they offer in Asia. The Boys release in America was pretty underwhelming in terms of just the one song and multiple remixes in very plain packaging.
I can second this. As someone who lives in the UK, not America, I can confirm that just because it’s released in America, it isn’t always going to be on the worldwide market. For example, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Psy are never played on British radio as they don’t release their songs in the UK, but sometimes they gain popularity here through YouTube alone. I just hope SM don’t neglect the rest of the world when SNSD release their next English album. Although, if Interscope releases the song, then there is a chance it could be released in the UK, as Lady Gaga and Ellie Golding are played on the radio here all the time.
Ugh, I wish I lived in Japan, they’re really getting SM’s attention lately, look at all the Japanese singles! And now another tour!
When can they perform in Texas??T.T But anyways, I wish good luck to the girls to have fun and be safe through the whole tour~ and hope one day that they’ll make it to become a worldwide act!:D SNSD fighting! SONE fighting!!
It’s not like SM doesn’t know where Texas is. F(x) was at South By Southwest in Austin earlier this year. So yes, SM does know where Texas is. Now if we can just get them to send in the “A” team, I think everyone would be surprised by the large, excited turnout.
Is it just me or are the dates for this tour closer together than usual? At least there is that so it’s not like it will go on forever like this World Tour is. I think it is weird they are not finishing the World Tour before they start a new one. Is SM biting off more than it can chew? I think they are pushing the girls a bit too hard lately with the World Tour, the next Japan tour, and their various other schedules.
It is good a lot of people are being understanding about the American market plans being changed. I really agree with everyone about ways that would make it work. They just gotta do it perfectly and the girls would blow everyone’s socks off, not just current fans. English remakes plus originals worldwide would put it in American market, but not centered there, so they would get exposure here without as much risk. It’s a good step into the American market if they ever do decide to do it after all. If there is no going to America, I want at least an English album, that is the main thing I am looking forward to.
The tour currently has 10 less concerts than the 2nd Japan tour. Hope it doesn’t take too long, meaning no making it longer than the current schedule.
Really appreciate this discussion and agree with the business motivations of SM managemnt who look at the numbers, see what makes $$$ and try to repeat and grow that segment, often at the expense of missing new markets. Japan is close and they buy CD’s, but there is also something called “overexposure”. The only Korean entertainer to break into the US market is PSY, but frankly, I think he is considered a novelty act. Really like the idea of an English album for the World.
Dancing with the Stars just finished their 17th season in US. PSY performed last season and the audience all had fanlights. Someone at DWTS must have done some research because the staging this year looked like SNSD concerts with lots of lasers, fire, smoke and … fanlights. DWTS in US has 9 pairs of pro dancers. It’s a worldwide franchise from the BBC and Hyoyeon did a great job on the show last year in Korea. One primetime TV exposure would help a lot. Anybody know anyone at DWTS?
Would they ever come to Canada? T_T
-sigh- ….we dont have nice stages……. T_T
If SNSD mixed and released JUST ONE eng hit song, everyone in no america would know.
Im in Hollywood now, can do it if they can adjust their SM CONTRACT.
SOSHIFIED could produce it
They did release a bunch of mixes of one English song (The Boys) and it flopped.
If SNSD mixed and released JUST ONE eng hit song, everyone in no america would know
Let’s face it, America is too big. We’ve got lots of people and lots of money, but we’re just spread out too much, then there is that pesky problem of the Pacific Ocean. Japan on the other hand: not as many people but way more than Korea and packed together more than America, also, no ocean.
To do a good job here (USA and the rest of the New World) would require an extended stay not back and forth like Japan. There is way too much loss of known revenues. Why perform for 3000 in Houston when you can spend less time, energy, and resources in Japan and perform for 15,000?
Culture is another problem, Japan and Korea are not the same culture, but American culture is from another planet.
SM has done about all they can through their travel agency. The “World Tour” just depends on your definition of “World”. If we want to experience GG we’re just going to have to make that ocean trip ourselves. I just wish that SM would admit that as a solo act, GG will never come to America.
I wish SM could get them as half-time at the Super Bowl. They are perfect for that venue and everyone in America would know what we know.
I feel like they already have a foot in the door in America and the only think stopping them from becoming truly successful is the lack of English Language songs. They have so many catchy songs that they could release in English and could easily become popular song that it is kind of disappointing that we are still waiting. Genie, Run Devil Run, Hoot, Gee, Oh, Mr Taxi, Bad Girl, Great Escape and so on could all be released and I find it kind of ironic how much English is in some of their Japanese song, Reflection is practically an English Language song with a few words of Japanese thrown in from time to time and if they can do an awesome song like reflection I’m wondering why they are not releasing some actual full English language songs.
Also it was pointed out that even if no new people in America bought their English Language album there is still enough existing fans to make it successful. Having heard most popular songs on the radio and Girls’ Generation’s songs I find it almost impossible to believe that they wouldn’t be successful.
My unbiased opinion is that their music is better and more catcher than most popular American pop song. They just need to release the music!
SM staff recently said in an interview that they are not interested in entering the US market (at least, not anymore), because there are other ways of becoming world stars. I think if they release an English album, they will release it on worldwide level, not just American market.
@glider003 I agree totally. GG could easily become successful on the worldwide market. There is a huge lack of girls groups in the worldwide market at this time, with the only one I can think of being The Saturdays, that if they were to enter the worldwide market with the right song they could become HUGE! And this is my unbiased opinion. All SM needs to do is make English versions of their songs alongside the Japanese and Korean versions. My Oh My, Galaxy Supernova, and all the songs from the IGAB album could be HUGE worldwide, they just need to make it happen. The problem with The Boys was that it was just an American release, and they can’t use the popularity of simply America to choose if they should release songs in other countries such as Britain, Australia and the rest of the world, as I know for sure that American and British opinions on songs are huge.
Please let me share from another perspective, from another side of the globe, which is asia.
I am a fans of Metallica, Steve Vai, and Dream Theater. And my country finally have a chance having a concert of Metallica in 1993 for the first time (waited for nearly 10 years) and the second one after waiting for 20 years! on Oct 2013, and same to Steve Vai and Dream Theater. But it’s worth to wait :). But in contrary, US fans of them could have a year long concert from one town to another.
And about Soshi, in 2 consecutive years, Soshi already visited my country twice, and because my country quite close to Korea and Japan, I could fly just to attend their concert.
