On October 15th, “Nightline”, an American nightly news program on the channel ABC, ran a story highlighting K-Pop, from PSY’s “Gangnam Style” to Girls’ Generation, calling them “The all girl pop craze sweeping the globe.”
Scenes of fans waving pink hearts greeting Girls’ Generation in New York last October for “SMTOWN LIVE in NEW YORK” were shown as “Nightline” begins to explain K-Pop beyond the success of “Gangnam Style”. “Nightline”‘s piece explores the K-Pop industry through SM Entertainment, and even went into the company’s offices for a behind-the-scenes look at the training process. The reporter for “Nightline” singled out Girls’ Generation, saying, “The hottest act, a nine member girl group called Girls’ Generation.”
Clips from other SM artists’ music videos from Super Junior, f(x), and EXO were shown, as well as Girls’ Generation’s music videos including “Genie”, “Run Devil Run”, “Gee”, and “The Boys”, where the reporter referenced Girls’ Generation’s chart topping success.

glad to know that GG is already known in the US :)
k-pop sure has spread to many parts of the world!
I just read the New Yorker articke, and I learned not to obsess too much about SNSD coming to America.
Although tentative decision has been made for a US album, it sounds like there are still many obstacles, and SM and interscope are still negotiating. The article also mentions high opportunity cost for the girls to promote in the US. There’s high risk, and because of that it may not be in the best interest for them to come here. I wouldn’t be surpised if plans change. Just have to wait and see.
Girls’ Generation Saranghae!
The Soshi unnies are CONQUERING along with the other groups but they are SHINING there way through all of them!! xD This just made my bad day turn 360 degrees all over!!
Wherever, Whenever I am in this WORLD I’ll never regret to say this line….
“I’M PROUD TO BE A S<3NE!"
Watch, because of this, next year we’ll be reading this headline:
“American television network ABC to air SMTOWN Live World Tour III in New York. A special edition of 20/20 to follow featuring interviews with Girls’ Generation and BoA.”
SMTOWNers can dream right? lol
It could happen! (mimics small boy’s voice from Angel in the Outfield flick) :D
Watching this just made me incredibly happy. K-pop is slowly coming into America and our girls are recognized as the most popular. I am so proud of them and all of SM Ent.’s artists. SNSD FIGHTING <3
Wahh~~~ i’m really hyper after watching the video for some reason :) SNSD jjang^^
lol i cant explain it but i feel happy inside hahaha
IM SO PROUD!! XD they definetly are the hottest in kpop no one else!
Yeah, proof enough that Kpop will challenge the world of their greatness! :D
USA jjang! We’ve finally seen inside the huge mystery that is SMTOWN! As far as I know, no cameras had been ever in SM Ent, like they said. It’s one step closer to knowing the reality of the trainee period!
I SCREAMED when this report began! I thought it was going to be one of those “Girls’ Generation is a second Spice Girls and blah blah blah”, but they did their research! ABC hwaiting! ♥ (They forgot DBSK though! Pity~)
We’re going to prove everyone that said SNSD won’t make it into America because they’re too many people and too cute WRONG.
Amen to your last sentence. Let’s do this S♥nes for our Soshi angels. They’re seriously depending on us to love and support and protect and give them strength. It’s gonna be tough and painful but with our help, these babies are gonna pull through and break down barriers. Just you wait! :D
