On October 15th, “Nightline”, an American nightly news program on the channel ABC, ran a story highlighting K-Pop, from PSY’s “Gangnam Style” to Girls’ Generation, calling them “The all girl pop craze sweeping the globe.”

Scenes of fans waving pink hearts greeting Girls’ Generation in New York last October for “SMTOWN LIVE in NEW YORK” were shown as “Nightline” begins to explain K-Pop beyond the success of “Gangnam Style”. “Nightline”‘s piece explores the K-Pop industry through SM Entertainment, and even went into the company’s offices for a behind-the-scenes look at the training process. The reporter for “Nightline” singled out Girls’ Generation, saying, “The hottest act, a nine member girl group called Girls’ Generation.”

Clips from other SM artists’ music videos from Super Junior, f(x), and EXO were shown, as well as Girls’ Generation’s music videos including “Genie”, “Run Devil Run”, “Gee”, and “The Boys”, where the reporter referenced Girls’ Generation’s chart topping success.
