Girls’ Generation has just released the music video for their Japanese Version of “Oh!”. The music video features the members dressed in both casual outfits and two sets of brand new cheerleader uniforms as they perform in front of backgrounds showing a locker room and a sports stadium. The numbers seen on the cheerleader outfits used in this music video are the same as those on the outfits worn by the members in the music video for the original Korean version of “Oh!” and for the song’s promotions in 2010.
In addition, the ringtone for the Japanese Version of “Oh!” was released earlier this morning at 5 AM JST.
Girls’ Generation’s fifth Japanese single will be released as a double A-side which features “Oh!” as the title track and “All My Love Is For You” as the second song. The album will be released on the September 26th along with the “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection”. For more details, click here.
Girls’ Generation’s official Japanese website has also been updated with new photos and an “Oh!” theme. Download the music video for the Japanese version of “Oh!” from Soshified’s Video Downloads Section, or check it out below.

Okay I’m seriously in love with this MV. The Japanese lyrics didn’t bother like in other songs and the cheer leading costumes were so much better than the Korean version (I couldn’t stand those yellow and blue things hanging from their hair)
Somehow the choreography looked a lot cleaner, maybe because the girls have danced to this song so many times already that it’s second nature to them or maybe it’s because the camera made more close ups.
I would have wanted to see RDR but I guess it wouldn’t make much sense since they’ve already released it.
All of the girls look absolutely beautiful, Hyoyeon finally got a cute haircut and she is just gorgeous.
I have to say this was far better than I had expected.
Oh wow! Oh! was my favourite song and the Japanese version lived up to the original!! I love how Taengoo took off her jacket at the end.. I swear I drooled.. It was great! Just like all soshi videos!!
They were so cute in this PV!
I actually like it more than the Korean one.
Although, on the down side, I think they fix up their voices more in the Japanese version, which I wish they didn’t do because it sounds a little too smooth and I prefer it sounding a little more on the raw side (this is coming from a music audio major, so yes, I do know what I’m talking about and I know what I hear).
Overall, it’s great nonetheless.
Anyone else being swamped by a storm of nostalgia? hahaha oh my gosh GREAT music video! :D
one word: AWESOME!! :’)
guys, anyone noticed the emphasis on numbers 5 (Yuri) and the 10 (Hyoyeon) at the begging?? you think it may mean something? like 9 plus 1 (Sone) and 5 for being together for 5 years as GG and fandom? :O it would be cool, right? xD
I love it!!!
The ending was CREEPY!
It reminded of the end of the Shining, where you see a photo of Jack Nicolson with a crowd of people from 1921. Like he was trapped forever as a ghost in the Hotel.
That photo of the girls in the abandonded room gave me as similar sense creepyness. Yikes!
Fierce or cute, the girls always nail it!
I have seen the music video earlier today and I gotta say that it is so amazing, just like the MV for the original Korean version. I know that the girls look so beautiful in the cheerleading outfits and they also look so pretty in the blue and white varsity jackets with the same numbers they worn for the original Korean version two years ago. And with the fact that all nine girls are all grown up now, I like how they put a “college girl” twist to the cheerleader concept by wearing casual clothes at the start of the video and also wearing college cheerleading outfits with their initials, “GG”, on the tops of their uniforms during the entire video. And oh yeah, the cow herding dance is my favorite part. So yeah, I really like the video a lot and I applaud the girls for being confident enough to do the cute cheerleader concept again, especially Seohyun and Taeyeon, who hated being cute
after clocking out from work i waited outside for my ride to come get me, so i decided to see what’s happening on Soshified and saw that the OH! Japanese version is out. Immediately i check the MV and boy it’s a good thing i come to my senses and not scream the place down, even though i really wanted to so badly. it’s the happiness that was building up inside me wanted to let loose. i didn’t want people to get scared and call the psycho ward to come and get me, so i keep my cool and grin like a bloody idiot “love struck”. my phone doesn’t do justice to this MV and i couldn’t wait to come home and watch. this is beautiful and the lyrics match in sync, no awkwardness to the sound. i even like how they mix Korean words from the original in there and of course the English words too. SNSD = PERFECTION!
kamsahamnida SSF ♥♥♥
A remake of the video that got me hooked on these girls in the first place. Excellent!
same as me! this was the song that got me hooked on them! it’s made me sooo happy it’s brought back even in a new language but with a new video too! daebak!
Much better than I anticipated, I watched right to the end but sadly no sign of a Jap. RDR :(
Because they already did RDR Jap version a couple of years ago. That really made me wonder why they didn’t include Oh! in that list of songs (Genie, Gee, and RDR) when they first ventured to Japan in 2010.
Oh my goodness this video,
I can’t stop hitting the replay button ><
I love every bit of this remake <3
This is soooooo adorable!!
Very “Red-ish” I love it, no no SONE love it!!!!!
This compare to the korean version, this is more to Red, and More” Checkered” Style?
And oh oh oh oh the chorus is just like the Korean Version~~~~ Haha….
Still need to get used to that though~~ HEHE~
SNSD DAEBAK!!!!!!
Forever 9, Forver SONE! <3 <3 <3 lots lots of love!!!!
Oh Oh Oh Oh SNSD Saranghae~
Gotta love this concept to be quite honest. I was worried about how they are going to pull this one off considering their past images, but then… after watching this video, it made more sense (at least to myself).
The college girl look is really quite appropriate for going back to Oh! That little addition to the PV made all the difference to me, and put all of my worries to rest. They still look mature enough, and yet cute enough for Oh! This is really a smart addition to the concept.
Overall, it is way better that what I expected. Yes!! Fanchants, anyone???
Some of you guys mentioned fanchants while watching the video…god do I hate fanchants. I rather hear Soshi than the fans chanting over them. It just ruins everything when they start chanting when the girls are performing. Cheering is one thing, it’s not as obnoxious, chanting is just overkill.
Anyways, I loved the mv and the whole sound. I do find it weird they kept some Korean in there, but I suppose it suits it more since Oh and Oppa went together in the chorus perfectly. Probably sounded back when they tried in Japanese? Well I enjoyed that it had the same effect with a more grown up, mature feel to it. They were like a sorority in the beginning and all looking sooo beautiful yet cute. I think they did an excellent job overall! :D
You gotta understand one thing about fanchants though. Those fanchants mean a lot, not just to SoShi, but to all idol groups who perform live. I don’t know if you’ve heard about it, but last Christmas season during the year-end shows, SBS Gayo Daeum producers and SMEnt screwed up a bit when they didn’t inform ELFs that Super Junior was recording for the show. Not only did it upset a lot of ELFs, but also some Super Junior members like Donghae, Siwon, and Leeteuk. Why? Because their fans weren’t there to fanchant for them. Fanchants are made to support their idols, and idols get strength when they hear the audience do the fanchants. It means so much to them. If you look more closely, you’d see the good reactions in their faces when they hear their fans do the fanchants.
Peace.
Oh ! … Love struk again <3<3

First reactions:
– Ooh what a nice room!
– Hmm…no computer means no RDR crossover. Guess they took that out.
– Ooh! blue uniforms. Looks nice. Sooyoung looks Good!
– Lol. There are 3 languages in this song: English, Japanese and Korean. teehee
– Yay! Hyoyeon has normal hair!! In fact she looks pretty good too!
– Where…..where is the story?
And that last one is my biggest complaint with this MV. It was another big box MV. I know that the original Oh was on an indoor set as well but I felt something of a story there. “So these girls are cheerleaders who all really like the football players. They are practicing for the big game but keep getting messed up because they are distracted by how much they love “oppa”. but then they pull it all together for the final showcase! Meanwhile, dark computer versions of themselves have been born and laugh at their light counterparts.”
With this MV, I didn’t really catch the sense of them being cheerleaders as I felt that they were girls generation in cheerleading outfits. With that said, I did like the new white skirt outfits and hope to see them perform in those because they were cute and new for the whole concept of Oh seeing as how the original MV had three outfits all with shorts or pants.
Anyway! The song sounds great. Flowed well and worked with the melody. No overhanging or lacking syllables like in some of the other translated songs.
All of the girls look nice even YoonA with those big fake glasses.
The close ups were well done but I think they needed a tad more Hyoyeon(?) – need to watch again to be sure.
Somehow I agree with you..
I find that the Korean version got a story to tell, while this one, not much. more to the dance and the girl as student are just to fulfill the MV. I don’t know.
Something missing.
I also wonder, how are the girl adjust to go back to that girlish style as they now appear more woman-like and sexier. Haha. However, they still look like a baby. Still fresh and still a beauty.
Hyoyeon, I must admit, she’s adorable in this MV!
LOLOL SUPER HAPPY! I HOPE KOREAN COMEBACK COMES FASTER!! I WILL TRY TO PATIENTLY WAIT!! I WILL BE THERE FOR THEM 101% HAHA SNSD FIGHTING!! <333
Absolutely Fantastic!!! To be honest, I was hopeless: Oh! is my fav mv and concept, so I thought that this new version could only be shitty. But it’s still very good!! I love how they kept the cute aspect, but adapted it to what 2012′ soshi… PROUD TO BE A SONE ONCE AGAIN
i was kind of hoping for a new song for their Japanese single, but i still like this new mv
AMAZING! SNSD are the best! Going to go order myself an album right away!
wow this is way better than expected! japanese really fits this song well :3 and is it just me or did the girls seem extremely happy to be able to promote this song again? xDD their happiness instantly put a smile to my face^^
i hope this will reach 1st place in japan! 8D
SNSD HWAITING!!
i really liked the music video! i love soshi music
videos in general, and this did not disappoint!
i found the gigantic floating horn a little strange.
HAHA! but other than that, it was great! especially
taking off their coats at the end…that was so
sexy…and just plain unfair. HEHE! how am i not
supposed to go crazy for that! :-)
i couldn’t help but do the fanchants!!!

jap. version is better then i expected
