Girls’ Generation kicked off an historic week of events as they performed “The Boys” on “Late Show with David Letterman”. The official SMTOWN Facebook page updated with several pictures documenting the girls’ arrival in New York and the Ed Sullivan Theater where “Late Show with David Letterman” is filmed. Also, before the recording, Girls’ Generation signed autographs outside the Ed Sullivan theater for fans.

The girls matched the special occasion with an equally special version of “The Boys”, which featured two dance breaks and a strong drum background instrumental. Girls’ Generation showed off their signature dance moves and powerful vocals, dazzling not only the studio audience in attendance, but millions of people throughout the United States as their performance was broadcast across the entire country. Also, during the performance, #WeLoveSNSD reached the third spot on the trending topics on Twitter in the United States. You can check out the performance below or watch the entire episode on CBS’s website (Girls’ Generation’s segment begins at 39:02).
After the broadcast of “Late Show with David Letterman”, a picture surfaced online of Girls’ Generation posing together with Bill Murray, who was the other guest on the show. Bill Murray smiled brightly in the picture as he was surrounded by the girls. Afterwards, the members of Girls’ Generation were quoted as saying, “Our hearts were pounding from the moment we heard that we were scheduled to perform until we completed the performance. Our “Late Show with David Letterman” appearance was an enjoyable and fun time.”
Girls’ Generation’s incredible journey into a new world continues tomorrow with their appearance on “LIVE with Kelly” and then the first ever fansigning in the United States on the following day. Earlier today on “LIVE with Kelly”, Kelly Ripa and her co-host Daniel Radcliffe mentioned the girls’ upcoming appearance. Kelly Ripa noted that she had been getting messages on Twitter from all around the world expressing interest and excitement for tomorrow’s show. Daniel Radcliffe also said that someone had given him Girls’ Generation’s CD (presumably “The Boys”), but that he had yet to listen to it. Further details about all of the girls’ American events can be found here.

My two favorite things Harry potter and snsd together. <3
I still prefer the Korean version because the English version lacks depth and meaning but I do understand why they needed to do this in English. It would be the greatest if they released and album that will be full of their hit sonsg (RDR, Genie, Oh!, Gee) in English. That would be so awesome!
PERFECTION!!!
Wow..the best “The Boys” performance to date. Nice remix, flawless moves, awesome voices, and oh so gorgeous faces ! I pray for the best for the girls in their American debut.
dang..!! SNSD sure has conquer the world…Taeyoon-ah,i love u!!!

I want to take more pictures/videos of em.

Our Girls' did an amazing job, the remix was perfect
SNSD Fighting! Hope to see you in LA soon :D
The performance was great but how I wish Jessica would sing her high notes part live ’cause she can sing very well & she has a very good voice, just saying. I never heard her sing it live or maybe because I haven’t seen them live in concert. =)) Congrats on their U.S promotional tour. Hope that the ‘the boys’ album will hit it big time. Awesome! =))
such an epic remix music ^^

they are the best.. ever..
SNSD daebak..
proud to be ur fan.. ;)
I can testify that in the span of the entire “Late Show With David Letterman” era and the “The Ed Sullivan Show” era that that hallowed stage in the Ed Sullivan Theater has never seen, supported or presented anything like Soshi; their uniqueness has forever put their indelible mark on the history of that legendary place. Talk about the immovable object of history colliding with the irresistible force of perfection. This one is for all times. I toast to you ladies, you are now immortals of pop!
PROUD:)
They did amazingly, they sang well, danced perfectly, they were all stunning, the remix was good, they seemed confident and that they had fun.
It must have been difficult to perform with 9 girls in such a small area, but you’d never know it because the they pulled it off without a hitch!
this have got to be one of the best boy perfoemance live i have ever saw.
best The Boys performance ever!!
was so happy with the performance, it was so flawless!
happy that no mistakes happened, and they just totally rocked the Late Show’s stage!
unfortunately, no interview was done here… but Live with Kelly compensated for that! :D
(in david letterman performance) Maknae! Why share Yoong unnie’s POT? Be the hottest somewhere else! :D
But seriously, Seohyun and Taeyeon noonas didn’t seem to be affected by the pressure of such a huge performance. Contrary to that, Seohyun even seemed to enjoy it and stepped up in every way. (or maybe they just managed to pull that off because they really needed to. for everyone’s sake.) Anyways, they made a lot of people so proud! ..again.
Wishing our Girls more well-deserved good/better luck in their history making.. Yongwonhee~ SNSD!!
So proud :)
Just absolutely amazing to see our girls on American television. This was something I never thought would happen when I first got into Kpop over 10 years ago. I’m glad I was proved wrong.
