S.M. Entertainment
2012 Global Auditions
2012 SM Global Auditions will be held in 15 cities within five countries – Korea, China, USA, Canada, and Japan – for three months beginning January 2012.
S.M. Entertainment (SM), the company that has produced many famed K-pop artists such as BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee and f(x), has announced its plans to hold a grand-scaled global audition. SM Global Auditions have been an annual event since 2006. Through these auditions, SM has been able to discover talented young artists such as Henry, who was the finalist of the 2006 global auditions and is now a member of Super Junior M, as well as current f(x) member Amber who auditioned in 2007 in the US.
In the New Year SM begins its next search to find the next generation of Artists. As a result of the Korean wave, the popularity of K-Pop singers has reached new heights and SM expects its next line of auditions to attract a lot of fierce competition. The SM Global Auditions
will take place in New York on February 18th, Chicago on February 20th, San Francisco on February 26th, Los Angeles on March 3rd, as well as Korea, Japan and Canada.
Auditions are open for anyone and there is no application fee.
Applications can be sent via e-mail to: [email protected], [email protected] or
YouTube (www.youtube.com/audition).
Finalists will be given the opportunity to sign an exclusive contract with S.M. Entertainment.
This contract will cover all initial costs in launching a musical career.

Woah…. my goodness that’s soon, haha, time to get to work xD
This might be a dumb question.
I’m white. Would it be totally foolish of me to go audition? I’m confident in my singing and dancing abilities and know a bit of Korean, but am afraid I will be totally out of place by going to this audition. Honest answers please, even if they’re harsh lol.
I might, or I want to try singing, but I was wondering.
Do I have to be able to write my own songs? Cause that might me a challenge for me…
Couldn’t find answer on SM.com
Thanks!
