Sooyoung has been cast as the female lead in the new drama “Speed”, which will be aired on the cable station, CSTV.
“Speed”‘ revolves around around racing, the racers’ fierce competition, and of the love and separation of four men and women. It is a piece depicting their growth. IRIS’s director Yang Yoonho is on to direct, and Lee Jungjae and Yoo Ah-in are being discussed as the male protagonists.
Sooyoung is the orthopedist of the team “Chicanes”, Seo Jiwon. With a height of 170cm and incredible beauty, her work ethics are impeccable and thorough. Her character is bright and cheerful, but she carries the wound of losing her parents to a car accident during adolescence.
Sooyoung has previously been on 2008 KBS2TV’s “Unstoppable Marriage” and “Hello, Schoolgirl”. She also had a surprise cameo on Paradise Ranch last year.
Drama casters are choosing Girls’ Generation members (Yuri, Yoona and Sooyoung specifically) as their desired female protagonists.

Perfect role to play by one of the most talented idol entertainer, Sooyoung. She’s going to destroy the role so nobody better get in her way lol. She’s going to do great, I can picture it already and her possibly getting rewarded for her acting skills on award shows. I would love to watch when it release. I’m very happy and proud to see Soshi getting work left to right in other field of the entertainment business. SM did very well to their idols in their training and now it’s paying off. That’s why I think they are the best company to start in if people wanted to become the next big kpop star. Congratulations Sooyoung and hope you do well and be safe on the set. Thank you SSF! :)

Wow the director of IRIS is directing it, i really wanna watch this now, but mostly because sooyoungie is in it lol. I’ve never really seen a racing drama before, unless initial D counts. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen yoona and sooyoung act, and i never knew yuri was coming back to acting too! Can’t wait :)

An orthopedist? Well, she’d make a beautiful doctor for sure, but isn’t Sooyoung, like, 22 years old? In the US, you’d get your undergrad at around 22 years of age, followed by 4 years of med school–so now you’re 26 with your MD. Another 3-5 years of residency in your area of specialty, and all of a sudden, your career starts when you’re at least 30. Oh well, TV-Land knows no age boundaries. I actually just saw an orthopedist recently–I would’ve paid out-of-pocket if Sooyoung was my doctor!
It’s been so long since the last time I saw Sooyoung’s acting. This is a great chance for Shikshin to show off her acting skill. I’m so excited to know this. Now, not only Im Actress but also Choi Actress has come back :) Hopefully the members will make cameos in her and Yoona’s dramas.
