Recently, there was a claim that netizens found an issue with Taeyeon and Yoona’s performance in their MTV Iggy interview in New York on October 24th, particularly the screencap above of Taeyeon resting her chin on her hand.
SM Entertainment released a statement on November 1st detailing what exactly happened, stating “The program MC wanted to talk while watching the Girls’ Generation music video being shown on the low monitor. Taeyeon was shown on screen naturally resting her chin on her hand while watching the monitor” and that “We hope there are no other misunderstandings.”
Also, “That day, Taeyeon and Yoona, as well as the other members’ conditions weren’t very good, but they appeared on the show of their own volition and, along with the fan meeting schedule afterward, did their best to digest their schedule.”

It’s amazing the sort of detail people find in these videos. I saw the video clip and I didn’t even notice the other girls since Tiffany was doing most of the talking. But looking at the screencap, it looks like Taeyeon is staring at a monitor. All the girls, though (especially Yoona) look really tired.
I am glad SM cleared this up. I personally felt that there had to be a reason for their actions and even watched the videos several times. Fact of the matter is, despite being sick and tired all 9 girls were laughing when they needed to laugh and responsive. Netizens seemed to want something to complain about and of course, without all the fact, they ran the risk of hurting our girls who (I’m sure) felt happy in themselves that they pushed through their sickness and tiredness for the fans. I mean, really, imagine how they felt after doing that only to see that people are complaining about a few ill timed shots?

This is no big deal really. The girls were exhausted performing and probably still had jet-lagged that day, not to mention Yoona and Tae Yeon were sick. It’s good that SM made an explanation to support the girls. Hope no one will talk about this issue in the future.
AIgoo yah.. if u look at their schedule just the one in NEw York already having the feeling of:
1) lack of sleep
2) jet-lag
3) exhaustion
4) sickness
8hours is the minimum of sleep timea human must get PER DAY but im getting a feeling all 9 of ’em gt less den half of the minimum time… x.x Even computers nid rest or else, it’ll explode. x.x

Thank you SM for the clarification. As I get to know these girls more and more I realized something wasn’t right with those two. I could tell they were tired and probably sick. None of these girls would intentionally sulk on tv. I respect and appreciate how hard they work and to be there for their fans. All of this was the morning until late afternoon the day after the smtown concert. Of course they will be fatigue. Get well soon girls!
