MBC TV’s ‘Cover Dance Festival K-POP Road Show 40120’, which will explore the Hallyu wave through cover dances, will air starting on the 22nd, every Thursday night at 11:05.

The Visit Korea Year Committee will be looking at the current Hallyu wave through the ‘K-POP Cover Festival’, targeted at Hallyu fans all over the world. ‘40120’ stands for the distance across the globe, which is 40,120 km.

They will be holding a total of 8 preliminary stages starting on the 22nd in Russia, continuing onto Brazil, the US, Japan, Thailand, Spain, as well as Korea.

Idol judges who will be present for each country are SHINee (Russia), miss A (US), KARA and T-ARA (Japan), 2PM (Thailand), and BEAST (Spain).

On October 3rd, at the Gyeongju Gymnasium stage, YB Band’s vocalist Yoon Dohyun and Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and Yuri will be the MCs. A total of 16 teams who have passed the first online preliminaries and second local preliminaries will take the stage. It is planned for duo TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, and 4minute to judge.

The production crew revealed on the 20th, “It’s not just a program that shows people doing covers of idol dances. Not only will we show K-POP fans’ performances, but their thoughts and lives. It will be a time to experience Hallyu in different countries.”
