Hallyu girl group SNSD has ranked at the number two spot in the Oricon chart with their third mini album, ‘Hoot’.

On the 22nd, SNSD released the Japanese package of their Korean mini album, which ranked in the Oricon chart the same day.

According to the daily chart, SNSD’s ‘Hoot’ sold 21,271 copies landing them in the number two spot.

It is an unusual result as they have not promoted in Japan, and because the album itself is in Korean.

SNSD took home the trophy for the second year in a row on the 17th during the year-end KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ special.

They also won the daesang amongst other awards at the 2010 Golden Disk Awards on the 9th, getting a triple crown. On top of that, they won the ‘Artist of the Year’ award for two consecutive years at the Melon Music Awards.
