Korean pop stars officially invaded Bangkok—-at least for one night. Twenty of South Korea’s biggest names in pop music performed in front of a sold-out crowd at the MBC Korean Music Wave at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, March 12th. The concert was put on by MBC in celebration of their fiftieth anniversary, and one of the performers was Girls’ Generation. In addition, the emcees for the event included Tiffany and Yuri, along with 2PM’s Nichkhun. Tiffany and Yuri’s microphones even had their names on them just like when they were hosting Music Core, which of course was broadcast on MBC.

Before the concert, the girls participated in a press conference at the Centara Grand Hotel with other Music Wave performers. The girls were also interviewed by Seed 97.5 FM and Nine Entertain.

During the concert, the girls performed three songs: Hoot, Oh!, and Gee, to the delight of many fans who were waving pink glowsticks and enthusiastically fanchanting and singing along in impressive unison. Thai SONEs even spelled out “소시” (SoShi) with their lightsabers. The girls provided fanservice by saying hello in Thai, and Taeyeon and Yoona wrote messages on their iPads to fans sending their bus off to the airport.

And just for fun, a fancam of Yuri and Sunny at Seoul Incheon Airport before their flight to Bangkok:
