The “Breath” track from S.M. the Ballad’s “Breath” album, featuring Taeyeon and SHINee’s Jonghyun, has been released on iTunes and various Korean music portals, including MelOn (one-minute preview), Mnet, and Olleh.

Teaser videos in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese were revealed by SM Entertainment for S.M. the Ballad’s upcoming album “Breath”. The clips give a short preview of each of the songs featured on the album, including Taeyeon and SHINee’s Jonghyun’s duet, “Breath”, and Taeyeon’s solo song, “Set Me Free”. The clips also give a very brief glimpse at the “Breath” music video and show scenes from TVXQ!’s Changmin’s Mnet drama, “Mimi”.
Shortly after the videos were uploaded, Taeyeon posted a short audio snippet for her songs on her Instagram account, clearly exuding her excitement and anticipation. At the end of her video post, Taeyeon is seen singing herself.
On February 4th, Taeyeon posted a photo on her Instagram account with a caption telling fans about her feature in S.M. the Ballad’s new album. The caption reads, “I’m overflowing with emotions, thinking of letting you listen to a new song for the first time in a while. ‘Breath’ that I sang together with Jonghyun. And my first solo song that isn’t an OST, ‘Set me free’. Please look forward to it. I’ll see you next week”.
It has also been revealed that the Korean version of the “Breath” track will be released on February 10th and that “Set Me Free” will be released on February 12th through major online music portals in Korea. Finally, Taeyeon and Jonghyun will perform “Breath” on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on February 13th.

SM Entertainment’s project group, S.M. the Ballad, will release a new album, “Breath”, on February 13th featuring Taeyeon. Taeyeon will sing for two songs in the album: the Korean version of “Breath”, the album’s title track, and “Set Me Free”. The Korean version of “Breath” will be a duet with SHINee’s Jonghyun, and “Set Me Free” will be a solo song for Taeyeon.
Other artists to be featured in S.M. the Ballad’s new album include TVXQ!’s Changmin, Super Junior’s Yesung, Super Junior-M’s Zhou Mi, f(x)’s Krystal, EXO’s Chen, and Zhang Liyin, in addition to Taeyeon and SHINee’s Jonghyun.
“Breath” will be the second S.M. the Ballad album. The first, released in 2010, did not feature a member of Girls’ Generation.

I am extremely excited about the Tang-Bling duet. They are a great vocal pairing, as both have incredible vocal range. Though I must admit, when it comes to Shinee, I love Onew’s voice the best….that boy can melt an iceberg with that buttery-smooth voice. I have always believed that Taeyon is the best female vocalist in all of K-pop so I’m sure this song will be a gem.

The new songs from the SM unit, SM the Ballad will be released daily starting next Monday. On Monday Feb. 10th KST, “Breath”, Taeyeon and Shinee’s Jonghyun’s Korean duet version of the song that is also the title track, will be released. And on Wednesday Feb. 12th, Taeyeon’s first non-OST solo song “Set me free” will be released. The album itself will be released on Thursday Feb. 13th.
And Taeyeon and Jonghyun will be performing “Breath” on music shows next week, starting with M!Countdown, Music Bank and etc. Though I think they will be performing “Breath” on music shows only for one week.
Yay this is gonna sound real good, I feel. :) Go Taeyeon!! Now waiting for S.M. The Ballad TY’s teasers and SNSD comeback teasers–> which I have been waiting since like FOREVER.

The first our kid leader’s solo single that is not an OST… Of course, we’re all excited! With ballad kind of song, her voice should be amazing :)
well i’ll be waiting on Taeng’s 1st solo song and will buy only that song. ONLY SNSD for me and no one else. hoping her 1st solo song be as successful as her previous OST songs or as SNSD’s singles and albums. i can picture this talented babe doing very well in the future when she finally goes solo and well this solo just might give her the push to think in that direction. i don’t want SNSD to break up but eventually it’s gonna happen and that’s gonna be a very heartbreaking moment. so i’m just gonna enjoy every second, minute, hour, day, month and year(s) with these lovely 9 and hope that they’ll come back 30 yrs later to do a reunion tour and that all their lovers aka Sone will reunite too. :D

I just found somewhere online that SM did confirm it. “SM confirmed that SNSD’s new album is a mini album and their comeback was delayed because they have to re-shoot the MV again”
It didn’t say anything else. I didn’t see anything about it anywhere else so I’m not sure how accurate the news is. Apparently that was a tweet, too.
I am a bit worried when I saw the title of Taeyeon’s solo song. It is as if the message behind is to “set her free” from something.
I saw related videos and articles about Taeyeon’s apparent depressive behaviors, including the Milk Club participation. Hopefully, she has overcome her inner demons and become stronger.
There are so many SONEs and I am sure some are actually well trained to help Taeyeon if she needs to – all she has to do is ask and these SONEs will do their utmost to aid Taeyeon’s recovery.

Milk Club incident was about a year ago – it’s some internal SM Anti-Depression Club of sorts. I just hope Taeyeon is okay now.
I just saw her newest Instagram photo munching away at cotton candy with Tiffany. That cotton candy was so enormous that I thought it was pillow stuffing.

I’m excited Taeyeon will be singing, since her ballads are always AMAZING! But am I the only one who finds it odd that it’s Krystal, not Luna, representing F(X)? I love hearing Baby Jung sing, but I thought Luna was like *THE* ballad singer of F(X).

And some Korean media outlet apparently asked SM how this will affect SNSD’s comeback, and reportedly SM replied that this new SM the Ballad album release will not affect whatever plan they have for SNSD’s comeback, whenever that is.
