if writers can be bias so then the readers can be as bias as they want
writers chose who they want to write about and so does the readers, they can choose whichever story to read

yes i understand that
writing is all about bias, but also reading something and able to get the feel and emotion throughout the story is also greatly influenced about people's bias
especially in real person fan fiction

To answer your question, writers can be biased because writing is creation and creation stems from the ability to imagine; bias and preference are necessary. Reading, on the other hand, in my opinion at least, should be an open, expansive, comprehensive way of opening the mind to new ideas. That is why I think readers should not be biased but read everything that is offered. :) Thanks for the Q.
