Time flew so fast and it's like a blink of an eye since SNSD came and capture our hearts. 5 years that were full of hardships were never been a joke. Of course it's inclusive in those years where we could see our girls crying, laughing, and being a complete dork. One thing I really love about this fandom was, the members weren't fake. They just don't act like this and that to please people nor fans. Yes, it is true that SNSD were a totally different persons when they're onstage. But once they're off from the camera, bet you could only see regular ladies who were full of hope and potential. Nowadays, it's really difficult for a group to stay together. Issues and misunderstanding would always be there. Good thing that our girls managed to have a very unique family like relationship or sisterly bond. Theirs is one of a kind in this world.

My wish for you, Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun unnies is that you'll always take care of yourselves. It's our concern to see how your health's doing.

Even though i became ur fan in just beginning of this year, i really-really grateful that i became one of the sone~~ (die hard ok ) hehehe.....
since i know SNSD,everyday of my life, i just sit in front on the lappy and watching your performances and variety show.. i dont know why.... there seems like a magnet... hahaha ..
Honestly, when my friend introduce SNSD MV GEE back in 2010, i didn't show any interest... maybe im not matured enough.. hahaha XD but thanks to Tiffany hwang- miyoung and Kim- Taeyeon(both are my BIAS) , now i became the sone .. its because i really attracted to Tiffany eye-smile and Kim-Taeyeon powerful vocal... and also i love how close relationship between the members... Even if SNSD becamo Ahjumma,i still supporting them

It's been two years since I became a fan. I honestly didn't think that I'll last in this fandom for this long, because that's never happened before. Then I got into SNSD, and that changed. It's true what they say; the physical appearance draws you in, but it's what's inside that makes you stay.

I feel so lucky and blessed to be a part of the heartwarming bond between SNSD and SONE. But what I am most thankful for is the fact that I got to see and feel the very special friendship that keeps all these nine girls together. Their bond is something that I truly want to last forever. I know forever isn't possible, but I believe that a bond as strong and beautiful as theirs has the power to go beyond the limits of time.

Happy 5th Anniversary, SNSD and SONE ♥ I can't be more thankful and happier that I stayed in this fandom. They have taught me valuable things that one wouldn't get from books. They make me feel happy, sad, excited, but most of all, they make me proud. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand the 5^th of August has arrived.


Curious thing, admiration; I can testify for it's vagueness, for I have only just been a fan for a few months and yet, I feel the same level of pride and bliss for their accomplishments in comparison to those who have been with them for 5 years.
Truth be told, the first time i heard of the Hallyu wave reaching the shores of my native land, I detested every single entity of it with extreme prejudice, including the ones I revere to now, 수녀시대.

I remember my initial reaction to hearing that K-pop's popularity escalates in a high pace: "What THE F***?! You people understand nothing from their music! You don't listen to music with your eyes, all of these artists rely on two things: banging face and bodies."
After weeks have passed of this news, this certain TV program that supposedly shows international music videos decided to focus on one MV source, K-pop. Without hesitation, I quickly changed the channel and went back after a few minutes. Then lo and behold, the upcoming MV is still k-pop; but then, my curiosity felt that it should be satisfied. So I waited for this particular MV to start, and then it started..

They call themselves Girls' Generation.

A bunch of gorgeous looking ladies started appearing by threes, confirming my initial thought that they rely heavily on looks. But as a man, even with eyes rolling from dissatisfaction, I couldn't simply look away. Then..

*Screen fades black*

Beats started jumping in unison and gradually became louder.

A huge light show for a background resembling that of a heart appeared, accompanied by silhouettes of women in a line.

"That's right. Come on."
♪♪ ♫♫

Then this lady in a white military uniform started singing and the other 8 ladies started to dance; every one of them eventually sang whilst dancing.

The MV ended.

"Eh. It's okay for a song, still purely eye candy."
I admittedly liked the song, but due to the foreign language I am yet capable of understanding and initial distaste, I paid no mind to it; I didn't looked it up, it didn't sparked an interest, I buried it.
I felt something linger in my head. I ignored it.

Months have passed with new MVs of several k-pop artists, including those of Girls' Generation's. They faintly call my attention. I reluctantly watched these MVs of theirs to have an open mind to it, to give it a chance, to give them a chance. Watching them over and over again, while having that unknown lingering feeling I had, I still gave the same expression I had the first time I saw them: raising both shoulders accompanied with an "Eh."

Years passed but my distaste did not and my interest never grew.

One faithful night, 22^nd of March 2012, my cousin suggested a particular song. Time Machine. He gave promising comments on the song, but when he said it was from Girls' Generation, I became skeptical.
As an ever hungry entity, my curiosity started complaining again and wanted to be satisfied.
I complied. I looked the song up, listened, and to my surprise, I wasn't complaining and enjoyed the whole thing.

Interest sparked in me and like an electricity-powered machine, that's all it took for me to look up Girls' Generation.
The interest in me had spread like a virus. I checked every detail about them, most especially that of this woman named Sunny.
I looked up their history; how they started.

Every info I read, every accomplishment I saw, every song I heard, my interest grew and grew until my interest became astonishment for them.
I started learning 한국어.
I started calling them 소녀시대.
I looked upon their misdoings and simply smiled, knowing that they wouldn't ignore it and they would improve themselves around it.
I am filled with bliss every time they set a milestone.
I am filled with anxiety and concern every time something unfortunate happens to them.

In my thoughts they linger. In my unconscious mind you linger.

I hope one day, I would be able to prove myself worthy as one of the knightly SONEs; to take up arms against those who oppose, to raise my shield and offer protection, to carry the flag that bear the colors of white and pink, and to uphold, with unwavering loyalty, the binding phrases:

"지금은, 수녀시대."
"앞으로도, 수녀시대."
"영원히, 수녀시데."



쑨규씨! 수녀시대's "pillar of support", be sure to support yourself as well.
I regret allowing 4 years to pass before I eventually take heed of this lingering feeling I had then.
Thank you for unknowingly being an inspiration for me, for giving me courage, and being the essence of goodness in me.

Being a Kpop lover in mid 07, I only came into the World of Nine when I listened to "Into The New World" at end 07
Even though I only joined in the angels' journey 4 months after their debut, they have made me a Kpop fan, a SONE.
With "Gee", the nine "Genie"s sent me "Oh"ing that I need to "Run Devil Run".
The nine angels have sent me deeply in love with them, as they grew to become The "Global Generation"!

Happy 5^th anniversary to SNSD! It feel as though I have just joined the SNSD family yesterday! Thinking back all those memories of being jealous of rumors about SNSD being attached, watching their cute antics on variety shows, trying to figure out who is singing which verse in the song to going after the one that I really love, it's been a amazing journey! And all these are very fond memories in my heart.

I started to know about SNSD in the year 2009! That's when you girls just started out with the Genie promotion. I really miss those days!! You girls make my life complete in a certain way. Because of you girls, I know more friends, because of you girls, I get to talked to some friends that I have lost contact in the past!

At certain period of my life, new album came rolling out and whenever I listen to them now, they allow me to re-live those moments again. Like whenever I listen to Gee and Genie, it reminds me of those days where I will camp in front of the computer and keep on posting on soshified in order to get access to the soshisub forum. The days where I got my first iPhone and I would convert all my fav soshisub episode and put it inside.

You girls also make me go through my two years of army with ease. Even though sometime I don't listen to SNSD, whenever I need to find strength, your song always gives me strength! Song like run devil run, Oh!, echo, dear mom, way to go, Gee, Genie, Forever , Day by day, Into the new world all brings me strength and make my two years of army seem to pass faster.

You girls also taught me that music is a form of universal language regardless of where you are from! I'm always touched by songs like Dear mom, mistake, how great is your love, complete and many more!

BUT the song that always touches me especially now will be into the new world, listening to the song, always makes me think back of those videos I saw of you guys working SO HARD to get to where you are now! Listening to that song, made me realize how successful you guys are! That songs remind me of how you guys have grown so much over the years and all the hard work you have put into it! You guys have break not only into the hearts of Asians! But also into the heart of people from other continent!

I have a few first with SNSD! They are the first idol that I have ever started star-chasing for so long! They are the first to make me join a forum to get more news about them! They are the first for me to collect all of their album! They are the first that I announced to my parent that this is my favorite group! They are the first that makes me have goosebumps with their singing! They are the first that never fails to touch me in the heart whenever they sing! They are also the first that makes me go for their CONCERT!

THANKS YOU for making me enjoy the process and everything! ! ! I wonder what will I do without SNSD now! Regardless of all the rumors or criticizing how fake you guys are, you girls in my heart are always so real and I will be a SONE forever! That's a PROMISE!
