It has been an amazing 5 years. Little could we expect how attached we have become to 9 individuals. The Soshi Bond between these 9 Ladies and Sones have always been special, like no other. This fandom gave me the opportunity and honour, to know some wonderful people, been to some unforgettable places and some extraordinary moments. We bleed pink, we love pink and we absolutely adore the number '9'. So please allow us, to hold your hands, protect and stand by your sides, for no matter what lies ahead, till forever ends. A bond we hold so dearly. An experience we forever treasure.

Ah I have so much to say. First I would like to take the time to thank Lee So Man for even taking a chance and making SNSD. At a time where big groups were not the trend he took a chance and made the best girl group in Korean music history. Not only did he select the best members, he selected the most dedicated members; whose goal has never been to dominate, but to simply enjoy making great music and interacting with Sones. There have been a lot of "X should have made the group instead of X member" or "X trainee would have been a better singer/leader" but then we wouldn't have the intense and magnificent Soshi bond that we have now. Everyone of our 9 brings something different to the table. Wither it's CF's and dramas, extraordinary singing ability, extraordinary dancing ability, high class fashion trends, hilarious one of a kind variety shows skills, etc. The girls have it all. And never, not once, have we seen them function not as a team. Even when members are sick or hurt the girls always manage to send their love to that person. They always make sure to support the members who have solo projects. They are a family. Even their parents think of the members as their adoptive children. That is how strong their bond is. Their bond is like no other.

To Kim TaeYeon, our fearless kid leader:
You are such an amazing artist. You can do things no one else can with that powerful voice of yours. When I heard Gee and Run Devil Run, I instantly became a fan of your voice. You always emote such power and emotion. You are such a rare find for any country. People may say "X sings better" or "X has better range" but they don't compare to the stage presence you bring. There are so many layers of you just waiting to be discovered that I am so looking forward to. Please look after your health and that incredible voice.

To my ultimate bias, my Ice Queen Jessica Jung:
You first caught my eye. You sheer beauty made me catch my breath. Then when I heard that voice I was blown away. Such power from such a tiny frame. I was instantly drawn to you. Then I found out that not only could you speak perfect English, but that you were also an American. I can't tell you how proud I was that a fellow countrywomen of mine went on to so well in another country. I get so proud when I see American doing well out side of America since so many people love to bash and make fun of us. You are making us so proud <3 I love your personality, that smile, and your playfulness. I wish I could have been able to see Legally Blonde but hopefully I will get to see your next musical. Please take care of your voice and health. You have to be at your best for SNSD to be at theirs.

To Lee Sunkyu, our energy pill:
Ah you always brighten my day. I adore everything about you. Your beautiful heart just makes you that much more attractive. You have brought so much laughter and joy to people. Never let that go. We love when you do your aegyo and when we see that gorgeous smile. I love you voice and the fact that you can sing either high or low. I also love your determination. When you could have just used your uncle, you didn't. You were determined to make it on your own and that says a lot about your integrity and character. I love how you earned you way into SM. My heart heart a lot last year to see you in pain during your 1st Japan Area Tour. Please don't scare us like that again. SNSD is not SNSD if all 9 are not there. Please take care of your health and make sure to keep your stamina up

To Tiffany Hwang, the cali girl:
Ah another fellow American I am so proud of. You have a big place in my heart. It made sad to know that people attacked you because of a lack of understanding of Korean culture. It's like they expected you to forgot who you were to embrace a culture that you weren't all that exposed to. It upsets me at times when people bash Americans and think badly of us without really knowing us. I praise you for never loosing that eye smile and courage you have. You could have given up, but you didn't. You could have let the anti fan and bashers get you to you, but you didn't. Instead you grew to be a stronger women. Not only that your heart grew as well. It's hard to forgive the people who wish you harm and ill will. But you do it without thinking. You have one of the biggest hearts and I am so thankful SNSD has you to rely on. And that voice is pure magic. Man you are one amazing singer. Please look after that voice and your health.

To Kim HyoYeon, my dancing queen:
Ah when I first saw RDR I was taken aback by the level and skill of your dancing. It was so incredible. I never thought a KPOP dancer would be that talented. You instantly became my second favorite member and I spent hours searching for Soshi dance clips on YouTube. Coming from a dance background I was so impressed by you. But something because to worry me. Why was it that you had more dance clips than singing. Luckily I found a lot of acapella and radio show performances. Man I gotta tell you, i love your voice. It's so good and unique. I adore you. You are so talented. You are such a good singer, dancer, and comedian. I so wished you would have won on Dancing With The Stars but even though you didn't you still put up some of the best ballroom dances I have ever seen. You should be proud of yourself for combining your hard hitting moves with a beautiful grace that was moving. Please look after your health this year.

To my Black Pearl Kwon Yuri:
I love you personality and your voice. It's so husky and unique. It's one of your best features. I love how you can be dorky and such a prankster. Lol I love how you are always happy. You dancing is so impressive and you are always one of the first members that caches my attention when a new comeback happens. I always get happy when I know you will be on a variety show because you always have the best stories. You are such a vital member of the team. You impressed me so much with your drama this year. A lot of rookie idol actors wouldn't dream to take on such a dramatic role for for their debut acting drama, but then again they aren't our fearless Kwon Yuri. You aced that role. Your raw emotion and talent was so good. I wish you a happy and successful year. I hope you take up the challenge to be in another drama so we can see more of your outstanding talent! Tare care of your health.

To Choi SooYoung, our Shik Shin:
I am so thankful that you are able to not only walk but dance again. I was so scared last year when I heard about your car accident. Others told Sones that we were over reacting, but to Sones you are family. No matter if it was just a scratch we still would have been on pins and needles because every member is that important. I can't tell you how happy I get when I see your impressions. They are some of the best ones. And I love your dancing and singing skills. You make me so proud. And your beauty is so timeless and classic. You are the supermodel of KPOP. You are that stunning to me. You are such a gem to SNSD and such a roll model. Please look after your health this year.

To Im Yoona, our actress:
Words cannot express how proud of you I am. You have stood against vicious slander and mean spirited bashing your entire career. You make it look easy. You never lost sight of your goals and strive to be the best. You have grown into such a wonderful actress. I was so impressed with Love Rain. It is one of the best romantic dramas so far this year. I hope you can win some awards this year because Love Rain was such a delight to watch. I love that you have never hid who you are. I love your voice even if some mean people don't. I love that you are the face of SNSD even if people complain that it shouldn't be you and I adore you for being you. Don't ever let anyone try to make you feel that you are worthless because you are worth everything and more. Keep it up my princess And make sure to look after your health this year.

I am so glad that you are a member of SNSD. Not only are you vocally amazing, but you are also beautiful beyond words, smart and ambitious, and so health conscious. You are the glue that holds SNSD together. Your values and morals help guide the other member on the right path. You look after the members and take care of them so well. You are unlike any maknae. You are just so amazing. And wow was I so impressed when you debuted with TaeTiSeo. You improved so much vocally and have gotten so much confidence. To my nine dearest, most beautiful angels – GIRLS’ GENERATION.



05 August 2007. The significant day; the birth of SONES’ love. Nine strangers that were put together, chosen from different countries, different states and underwent a tremendous training period as one. Until this very day, they debuted together on stage and began their journey as SoNyuhShiDae.



5 years aren’t short; it’s half a decade. Nine girls that had never met before they entered SME became the national girl group of South Korea, achieving so many awards and broke so many records in various award and music broadcast shows. Like what Yuri said on GDA once, ‘’Thank you to all the staff that took nine average girls and turned them into Girls’ Generation.’’ That’s right, thank you Mr Lee Soo Man, for picking our girls, nurturing and pushing them to release their potential, wowing the crowd again and again with every new come backs. Thank you for bringing these angels into my life, infecting me with the pink virus that will have no vaccine to cure. Of course, a very big thank you to the girls’ parents for bringing them to life, supporting them in pursuing their dreams. Last but not least, the girls themselves.



Thank you my beloved princesses, motivations, energy source, the loves of my life. It has been a great journey being a SONE, being part of the big pink family that waves the pink light saber or light stick, screaming fan chants while you girls perform. I have no idea how to describe my current overflowing emotions and I want to apologise that I wasn’t that from the start. But no doubt you all will have my promise; I will stay here right now, forever and always. There is no end to Girls’ Generation, and there will be no end to being a SONE. My love for SoNyuhShiDae will only elevate as more days pass, I promise.



Every time Girls’ Generation comes to Singapore, I went. Every time I see Girls’ Generation, the more I understand that I truly love you girls like I never had. During Kpop Night, MAMA, Singapore concert, all those experiences can never be replaced by anything. They are memories of you and me, the unspoken bond between us and me, SONE. The moment I heard Yuri said while looking into my eye, ‘’Thank you SONES!’’; the moment Sunny looked at me, smiled and waved after The Boys; the moment when Yoona nudged Sooyoung and all the girls to look at the SONE desperately waving her pink light stick almost bursting out of joy among the rest of the crowd because of the award Girls’ Generation received during MAMA, I knew that that was it. I’m definitely going to stuck being a SONE for my entire life. I will be a teenage SONE now, an adult SONE in the future and SONE mother, even SONE grandmother next time. It’s all because of you girls and your SOSHIBOND.



Sooyoung once said, ‘’People asked us what was the secret to our teamwork, but the truth is there is no secrets. We just live like sisters.’’ SOSHIBOND; what is it? Why in the world will SOSHIBOND get me so deeply mesmerised with this group that I didn’t know until Gee’s release? It is the sisterhood between the nine splendiferous girls; it is the joint that connects every one of the members tightly; it is the key point why Girls’ Generation is celebrating their 5^th anniversary on this very day. My babies; my girls; my dearest. Led by the petite girl with a great voice, they ventured around Asia; they debuted in various European countries and made themselves so well known. Taeyeon said, ‘’Let’s be friends that don’t get ashamed of each other but cherish and have plenty of care for each other.’’



They did it.



They experienced thick and thins but they never give up. They showed the world what is Power Of Nine, they showed us what are girls that debuted at young age could do and as they matured and grow, they showed us, SONES, that they truly deserve our support. I would say, being a SONE has no way back, because we only fall deeper in love. Like Tiffany said, ‘’We are one big happy family.’’



Singers, musical actresses, drama actresses, CF queens, endorsers, song writers. You name it, Girls’ Generation has it. These hardworking girls have been constantly surprising us with more fresh sides of theirs as time goes, impressing us with their countless talents. Listening to Sooyoung’s English before and listen to her English now, the effort she plunged in is definitely immeasurable. Look at Yoona’s acting in You’re My Destiny and look at her performance in Love Rain, how much hard work did have she put in? Look at Seohyun’s fashion sense before and look at how our baby maknae grew from Seobaby to Seolady; how much have she learned over the years? Hyoyeon’s dancing ability has always been awesomely great, but she keeps improving herself, she keeps pushing herself to take a further step, to advance and to break through.



It’s not that the girls are not enough before, but it’s just that they are always improving, for us SONES. This kind of girls with such beautiful characters, they are GIRLS’ GENERATION. 5 months, 5 years, 50 years or 500 years, let’s be together, my girls.



If you are still Girls’ Generation in your next life, I will still be a SONE.

It's already midnight over there, right? In Korea, Japan where you guys are now. I'm a whole nearly-half-a-day behind you guys, but I wanted to get this through, albeit it a liiiiiittle late. It's your fifth anniversary now! Your fifth. I am so, so, so happy to be a part of it. So happy to be part of the pink ocean that has steadily grown and has now helped take over the world with you. No matter where you go, there will be a SONE, someone who loves SNSD so much and cheers them on along the way. This is something you guys have done, these are fans that were captivated and fell in love with all the little things that make SNSD what it is. The SNSD we love the most.

Though sometimes it feels like time is moving at record speed, I think there always comes a point where we look back in disbelief and ask, "wow, has that much time really gone by?" With all the amazing things you guys have managed to squeeze into five years, the sacrifices, the triumphs, the ups and the downs, I think you guys should feel so proud of yourselves and each other, as individuals and SNSD at the end of the day. What you guys have accomplished so far is amazing, but what you have done for us SONES is really something else. Thank you for giving us a group to look up to, one that loves doing what they do. I still haven't been able to see you guys live, not yet, but I know I will have the opportunity to someday. Happy Fifth Anniversary, Girls' Generation!

A few years ago I was going through some bad times when I followed a random YouTube link to Gee. Something happened that day that's literally saved my sanity and maybe even my life. I had to find out more about this wonderful group so I started digging. I discovered that I share a birthday with beautiful maknae Seohyun. I learned that I wasn't alone in my new love of 소녀시대. And I rediscovered a country and culture I once visited when I was much younger and more naive about the world.

I followed the links to "Hello, Baby" and "Horror Movie Factory". I watched interviews and variety show appearances and MC cuts. I joined Soshified to get all the latest news of my favorite nine angels. I watched as my bias changed from angel to angel depending upon what show I was watching. I saw you laugh. I saw you cry. I saw you act dorky and I saw you act elegant. I saw dolphin screams and alligator faces and hidden camera pranks played on birthdays. One thing remained constant: I loved 소녀시대.

I've since discovered and become a fan of other K-pop groups but my first love is still and always will be 소녀시대. I watch Korean shows when I can find them subbed and sometimes even without the subs. I started learning Korean through Talk To Me In Korean dot com. I hope one day to be able to attend a live show and to see our beloved 소녀시대 perform.

For all the happiness and joy you've brought into my life, I am eternally grateful. Thank you for five wonderful years. Thank you for all the hard work, all the laughter, and all the tears. We are blessed to have you in our lives. Here's to another five years. Ten years. Fifty years!

Dear 소녀시대,
Even though I've only known you beautiful and amazing nine girls for 2 years, I feel like I've known you my whole life. You girls seem like such natural and easy-going people that it is hard at times to think that you're such big stars! Fans can relate so well to all of you girls on so many levels and it gets hard for us fans even, to know that you nine girls are not just any nine girls that we can find anywhere in the world. It is saddening to know that we can never truly know you on a personal level and I'm sure, everyone wants to have a friend like you nine girls are in their life.

I'm so proud of my nine angels have accomplished they have until today, and I'm sure in the future as well! Kekeke they looked so cute in their debut stage Now they've grown more mature and more SEXAYYY too ^^ I don't care if I'm not Korean or have not even met them once in person, I have no idea why but I just like, no love, them so much. I still remember how I really hated Soshi at first, like other stupid antis, but like in dramas we often fall for the one we detest to the core, Soshi has taken a part so big of my life I don't think I can do without them now. Now I find myself so freaking stupid for not becoming a SONE earlier >< Call me delusional but I think the impact Soshi has done on my life and as well as all the other SONEs' lives, is really remarkable beyond words. It's these nine girls, or maybe angels, who have let all us SONEs, even when we do not know each other and of different skin color, to come together to celebrate another milestone in Girls' Generation's story. People bash them on no valid grounds, but it's okay, because we have us SONEs to show them what's real talent and perfection, and awesome SOSHINESS! And to quote one of GG's friends, Gyuri, "If I say or write other negative things … it makes me carry hearts filled with these unhappy moments; instead of happiness, I would absorb the misery and waste my time with such people. There is someone who probably had an unhappy time today, but for me, I lived my life to the fullest even today, so I’m going to take a deep rest!". SONEs, we need not care about the stupid fans of our girls, they're the ones who need to realize what they're losing out, really ALOT. Because I think our love for SNSD far surpasses the insignificance of such stupid antis. AND IT'S SOSHI DAY TODAY, WHO THE FREAK CARES ABOUT SUCH IDIOTS! Life is a party from garage to suite room~ Any time you go boom boom boom~ gorgeous carchase, flowers all round, leading you to the boom boom boom~

[Self Explanatory]

Well, uh..hello! I'm a little anxious about this since I have an odd train of thought, and the words may come out weird, but here goes nothing.

Before I got into this SONE thing, I was any other angsty teenager. Plus what had been going on at home, school, as well my friends, I was about 300 times more angsty. I thought about self harm and suicide more then a healthy kid my age should, so far as to that I was diagnosed with depression.

Then I heard Gee. And admittedly, the music video turned me off a bit, but my best friend wouldn't stop playing it. He'd sing it all the time, and do that movement where it's sort of like dancing, except all you do is point at the air. It started getting stuck in my head. So I looked up your other songs, and names. I started downloading your songs, watching silly videos online, even watch a few shows you'd been on.

I often wonder how such beautiful ladies can grace this earth. You've heard that before, but it's just so true. Not only your looks, but your personalities too! Nine charming girls, who are silly and quirky off stage, but when on stage, you're smooth, and can kill it.

We're your wishes, y'know? Your SONE. And when you say, "thank you" on stage, I want to say thank you to you. Thank you for changing me. Because of you I have a brighter out look on life. I'm working on it, but it's been better! Because of you, when I have a crappy day, I think of you guys. Your hardships, and your ability to push through it. Thank you so, so much. You don't even know.

You're the girls who, despite the fame and fortune, haven't forgotten who they are. You're the girls who sometimes don't get rest, just to please us and to do well. You're the ones who make us cry when you cry. Who make us smile and laugh, when you smile and laugh. You're the ones who brighten my terrible day. You're the ones who others thought nine wouldn't go far. And you've proven them wrong!

It has been 5 years since you debuted and all the blood and tears shed has brought you to what you are today. In 2007, when you debuted, all of you were just innocent and sweet little angels. But now, in 2012, all of you have matured from girls to ladies.

I want to thank you for making me laugh with your dorky and playful selfs, making my heart melt with your sweet yet powerful voices and brightening up my life with your existence. I cannot imagine a world without SNSD and I can say that I'm proud to be a sone.

Even though I became a sone just this year, it feels like I've been a sone since you debuted, as I have been watching all your videos and shows. Because of the nine of you, I have become more interested in the world of k-pop.
