Happy Fifth to My Nine Girls <3

Five years ago, many doubted Girls’ Generation. Some thought that SM’s new group was going to be a failure. These girls suffered the hardest and darkest of times. But they had each other. Together, they persevered and showed those haters wrong. They had their mind set on one thing. To be a top star. They slowly achieved that goal with baby steps. They went through so much sweat and tears to get where they are now. The girls proved that with hard work and determination you can always reach your dream.

Five years later, they have won countless awards, broken endless records, sold out many concerts, became ambassadors for South Korea, and received the love of thousands of fans. Everyday, the Girls are a step closer to world domination.

These girls are the reason why SONE are broke. We lose sleep to stream live performances, watch awards shows, and variety programs. Life a SONE is extremely difficult. But we don’t regret a single thing. However, because of them, we met many new friends who all have one thing in common. Loving Girls’ Generation.

Like many others, I haven’t been a SONE since the beginning.
I always regretted that I didn’t witness an amazing debut of these nine girls setting themselves into the new world. But I’m here now and I’m here to stay. Five, ten, fifteen years later, I will still be loving these nine. As long as they are 소녀시대, I will always be a SONE.

Nine girls who helped bring friends together.
Nine girls who are perfect for each other.

But the first time I saw the Into The New World MV, that song made me fell in love with you guys...
I saw 9 girls, with beautiful choreography, beautiful faces, beautiful personality, started to be superstars..

5 years since 9 girls got together, sharing the same dream, moving their first step together into the future, Into the New World, creating a new world of their own, a new era, A NEW GENERATION.

Almost 2 years since I mysteriously wanted to watch the music video of Gee again, and realize I've fallen in love, in love with 9 beautiful girls, who are not only beautiful on the outside but most importantly in the inside.

What I'm typing now is definitely not sufficient to describe how much I adore, love these girls. No words are sufficient to express it all out but I hope your girls can see my sincerity.

9 girls who have affected me greatly, given me strength when I'm in need of it, taught me many important life values, made me want to be a better person because of them. I look up to them. I respect them.

People don't understand. They're not just a girl group. They're a group of girls whom I deem important in my life. It's kinda crazy. I know them but then I don't really know them.

오랜 세월이 흘러도 영원히 너와 꿈꾸고 싶어......

Even a long time passes, I want to dream forever with you....

I wanna dream with you girls, be it 5 years, 50 years, 500 years or even 5000 gaziillion years, I still want to. Because what you girls have gave me, I wanna repay it back double triple quadruple times, because it's worth it.

I just want to say that I absolutely adore each one of the nine beautiful girls that are part of Girls`Generation! I never thought I could love them that much, but they make me happy every single time. I hope this strong bonds between SONEs and SNSD won't ever break, and the girls will keep growing their popularity and showing their talents. Love you girls ~

When i thought about writing something for our girls for their 5th anniversary together, wow. was I pressured. Everyone was writing long messages and somehow nothing comes to my brain when having to write a message. But i slowly thought about it. why should i be pressured. All i have to do is think of what our girls had really done for us. Although all they are doing is just performing, showing their true sides and laughing and smiling in front of the camera, it really gave me hope. It gave me hope to believe love actually exists. Im a people pleaser... a really bad one at that. All i do is try to please people. Make them happy. Be them when they are sad, laugh with them when they are happy. However, little did i know the people i was with backstabbed me. Spread rumours about me. Although admittedly, there are some moments where i was wrong. But i don’t think i’ve done anything to the extent of being talked bad about by people i didn’t even know. Ignored by people who i called friends. And felt like i didn’t belong. Because i really didn’t. I just wanted to belong. I tried to laugh, smile and joke with everybody. Yes, people laughed. But when i was sad and down. Everyone avoided me. Ive been to 3 different schools in my life. The same thing kept happening. With different people. 3 schools. But not 3 times. More than that. Ive felt sad and wronged in so many ways. But just kept quiet. I know i shouldn’t use the thread that we are supposed to post happy and encouraging things for our girls, to post this sad confession, but I really wanted to express how much they mean to me and my gratitude towards our girls. And i don’t think they could take the time to read this confession of mine because of their schedule. Jessica unnie and Tiffany unnie will have a really hard time if they were to read all these messages.

I just wanted to say, SNSD has been my source of energy. I always look forward to coming back from school just to watch videos ive rewatched tonnes of times. Look forward to the girls’ new schedules. New songs. New pictures. Everything about them helped me feel better. In school i would occasionally open my wallet. Because behind a transparent compartment in my wallet where we are supposed to put our I/D cards, i put a picture of our one and only energy pill, endorphin Sunny unnie. now aka. Sunny oppa. <3 i also stick a picture of our girls on my school book because we aren’t actually allowed to bring stuff about celebrities to school, so i hide them there. Everytime i feel lonely, there’s only one place i go in school, into my wallet. XD. I’d love to thank Soshified as well for making me able to express my feelings and love for the girls. And also for the wonderful pictures ssf has provided. ^^. S<3nes and SNSD are jjang! ^^!

Happy 5^th anniversary So Nyuh Shi Dae. Yes! Let’s together make it to 50 years, 500 years and forever. Jigeumeun So Nyuh Shi Dae, Appurodo So Nyuh Shi Dae, Yongwonhi So Nyuh Shi Dae, So Nyuh Shi Dae Saranghae, OH! I think no matter what happens in the future, I will surely continue supporting our girls with all my heart. Because they’ve always been with me. There's so much I want to say, but alas, 'tis quite difficult to express all my thoughts into words in this block of space.

Firstly, Happy 5th Anniversary to you, Girls' Generation. It's been 5 long years, filled with hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But of course, those years were also filled with smiles, hearts, winks and love. Love from you to your SONE and from your SONE to you. I haven't been a fan since the beginning of your debut on the 5th of August 2009, I only joined the SONE fandom at the end of December, when you had long ended your promotions for Genie...but what I want to say is that I will remain until the very end. Even if your time has SNSD has ended, I will never stop being a SONE.

Over the span of time that I've been a SONE, I've experienced great moments, but for me, the greatest was seeing you first-hand in concert on 9 December 2011. It was my 17th birthday during that time. Among my circle of friends and the other youngsters in my town, 17th birthdays are an extremely big deal. So for me to have spent my 17th birthday cheering alongside SONEs with our pink lightsticks, forming a pink ocean for you, Girls' Generation...nothing could ever compare to that day. Nothing at all. It was the most memorable day of my life and I'll continue to cherish it. I still have the confetti from your concert, by the way.

To end this and prevent it from becoming a long-winded essay with redundant sentences, my only wish on this day is to continue making new memories with you while enjoying the fond memories of the past. Girls' Generation and the SONE fandom has truly become a 2nd family for me, and to know that there's at least a single SONE in a place I'm travelling to makes me feel somewhat special. To have friends in real life that are also SONE is just as great.

To conclude this message...I hope I didn't make it too cheesy/corny, I guess I can be a bit like that at most times. ^^ Today, I shall celebrate and celebrate with other SONE! Today is OUR day, Girls' Generation!

Ahhh~ five years had gone by so fast. It's funny how I always try to remember how it was the first time I saw them on youtube. I could still recall how amazed I was in seeing them perform "Into the New World" back then. So I landed into Soshified and the rest is my kpop fandom history. Hahahaha! What I love about soshi is how they manage to bring out the best in me. I don't know, it sounds cliche but I don't know how to describe this feeling with words. They just make you feel good inside... like a happy pill or something... like all is good and everything will be fine despite what has happened. We S♥nes know what I mean, right?

So I would just like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU SNSD - for all the smiles, for all the tears... and for the inspiration you showed me. Chasing after your dreams was never easy. But through hardwork and perseverance, nothing is impossible. So if I could make a wish today, I would wish that my angels would stay together forever! And us S♥nes would always be around to support you until the end.

You know what, I really can't do this. I just don't know what to say. I mean, girls, you so leave me speechless....as always. Whew how come you make me so happy without exerting effort?! To me, you girls are the definition of HAPPINESS.

I'm not that typical sone of sones around the world who consistently buy your studio albums, photo books, or any other paraphernalia. In terms of length of fandom, I'm certainly not one of your first fans. I've just became 2 years as a sone last March 7, 2012. And if we'll talk about being updated to your activities, I can't say I really am because I'm striving hard in school so I've made up my mind to lessen my internet time.

In fact, I only have one of your albums! Run Devil Run--the song that really brought me into the fandom. I'm sorry for just downloading and not buying the others hahaha. Oops! And I have one poster.

Seriously though, I can still proclaim that I am a deep sone--deeper than any other sone in the whole universe. I just know that I have this heart for Girls Generation. The day I first encountered the group, I was like the lead actress of a fantasy slash magical movie with smoke effects and everything--it's like fate. It's like meant to be. You know what? It must be destiny.
I was bored in my room, nothing to do. My two best friends were already into the song 'Gee' for 3 weeks or more. And I was like, no response, I'm sorry I don't understand. Just that. So since I'm bored, why not check it out. And yeah, I watched it, I thought I've only seen just one face. EVERYONE LOOKS THE SAME OH MY GOSH. So! I did search for the names just so I can figure out who the who is.

Then I saw a line that says, "Yuri: She was diagnosed with swine flu last March 5, 2010"

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. (insert the magical scene here)

My heart melted like an ice cream left under the sun. And I just can't think of anything but, "IS YURI FINE NOW?! INTERNET FREAKING TELL ME PLEASE"

So to make the story short, I first loved Girls Generation because of Yuri's past illness lol weird.

Just like many Sones, my greatest regret is not learning about the existence of Soshi from the day you debuted. Nonetheless, I promise to stay a Sone for the rest of my life. I will tell my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren about Soshi. They will learn that Soshi is one of the most wonderful things that happened in my life. They will learn that Soshi is and has been loved by hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of people all over the world because of their sincerity and genuinity.

When I'm feeling down, Soshi is always my source of energy and happiness. The energy I get from watching your performances, watching you on variety shows and listening to your songs is enormous. On the other hand, I feel so so sorry because there seems so little I can do for you. I want to be your shield and protect you from all hurt, anger and worries but as it seems, it is not within my ability...

Having said that though, in times of hardship, please remember that there are at least hundreds of thousands of us out there who are quietly supporting you in our own little ways. What we do may not be significant, but please at least know that you're not alone, and never will be. When you miss out on winning an award, please don't feel sad nor apologetic. We should be the ones apologizing for not doing enough for our angels. Please know that we only want the best for you, not from you. Also, when you are feeling under the weather, simply think of every achievement you've made throughout the past five years and tell yourself you have every reason to be proud of yourselves, and Sones have every reason to be proud of you.

Woohoo it's the 5th Anniversary of this epic and legendary KPOP group, Girls Generation (SNSD) !

Firstly, just wanna say congratulations, it's the 5th anniversary, which marks something very special to us SONEs. I only join SSF this April, although I'm already a SONE at 2010, but for these 2 years, my heart has been for you all, whether ups or downs, happy things or sad things. However, in 2011, I was SO busy with my exams (important one LOL) , that I couldn't afford to lose my precious time to study. Although it's like this, but I still listen to your songs while I'm studying. Some of your songs really help me perk up for my revision and exams, when they give me that FIGHTING spirit and the encouragement needed. THANK YOU!

Secondly, for the past 5 years, you all have produced such great songs and they already have been in my mind since 2010. New songs are also very fantastic! Great songs like Gee, Oh, Run Devil Run, Into The New World, Paparazzi, The Boys, Way To Go, Genie and LOTS LOTS MORE! When I'm sad, I can listen to your songs over and over to cheer me up. When I'm happy I can listen to your songs to make me even more happier! So A GREAT THANK YOU!

Although I know that because of MANY MANY activities, you're just getting tired and the energy pill you are is diminishing, BUT you transformed into a more matured girl, still having that cuteness though. 4. Dearest Tiffany, my 3rd bias, your eye smiles are just simply irresistible, which just attracts my attention to you and SNSD. 5. Dearest Hyoyeon, it's quite unfortunate that you only achieved 2nd place in Dancing With The Stars, and not first. 6. Dearest Yuri, the awesome black pearl of SNSD, you're just very mature and pretty! Your childishness and cuteness just darts around my mind when I watch the variety shows you attended, they are just funny and interesting. Now, adding another characteristic, which is sexiness. I feel the heat around you LOL. So THANK YOU FOR BEING CUTE AND CHILDISH AND STAY SEXY!

7. Dearest Sooyoung, the tallest and the greediest (in terms of food) of SNSD, the title of Shikshin is definitely yours! For sure, you are suited to be the spokesperson of SNSD, producing great talent in speaking and can dance too! I hope you stay cute and childish! Wish you luck for your new drama, 3rd Hospital! So THANK YOU FOR BEING FUNNY AND STAY FUNNY!

8. Dearest Yoona, my 2nd bias, you're the image of SNSD and it's so true. The cute and pretty Yoona 5 years ago and the more matured but still cute Yoona now, my heart will be there for you! Very talented of you, taking up awesome dramas, singing well, and dancing powerfully. If not for you, my life would just be incomplete (in fact without the 9 then it's true) . So THANK YOU FOR BEING THE IMAGE OF SNSD AND STAY PRETTY!

9. Dearest Seohyun, the maknae of SNSD, I feel that you don't look like the maknae, cause you're just more mature than the other members (FACT) . You can handle a lot of things and have very good manners! Although it's like this, but you're simply too powerful, showing great singing, dancing and musical talents, variety show skills and being on WGM with Jung Yonghwa. So THANK YOU FOR BEING MATURE AND STAY PRETTY!

After all, the 9 angels would make my life even more perfect, like without you girls, I can feel very down. Wish there is a 5th anniversary party (which I hope there is) so that you all can enjoy your debut day! 5 years ago you're SNSD, and now you're still the SNSD I know 5 years ago! I also hope that you girls can come to Singapore again, so that I can watch you girls on stage (which I had no chance the last time) .

Now that it's August 5, it has been a little bit over three years since I discovered the nine magical girls dubbed as the group of the generation. Knowing them at the young age of thirteen has led me to become attached to them, to grow up with them. To watch them yearn more, accomplish more, be more... It's one of the most beautiful thing you can ever wish for such passionate girls to achieve. I'm in love with these girls not just because of their talents or looks, but because they are an amazing bunch of people to look up to. They inspire everyone, and that, I feel, is what separates them from all the other public icons I've seen. They give so much, and as a SONE, being overwhelmed by Soshi love is not an unfamiliar feeling. The feeling is mutual, as we have received uncountable "thank you"s from the girls themselves. After acknowledging all their obstacles and how they managed to overcome them, their fifth anniversary is a well-deserved milestone.

Congratulations, Girls' Generation, on five years of magic, passion, miracles, and more. May all your wishes come true, and we'll be sure to support you every step of the way. God bless!
