I was really glad they actually chose genie as debut Japan debut song. Firstly the leg kicking action will definately catch the attention of the Japanese just like Kara's butt dance did. Overall, the lyrics were totally different from the Korean one, but conveys the same meaning anyway. and Tiffany's "tell me what you want, tell me what you hope" was finally included. she actually had to say it live for the korean performances, usually covering other's voices.

I started out with Japanese music so .. I can sing the Japanese version with more ease then the korean one.
SNSD got me into Korean music but I still suck at singing it. MOAR PRACTICE!

I like this Japanese Version translation better. It has got powerful lyrics. "Like the touching Music that burns within my chest Automatic from the start. You’re the only one that’s magic, make it come true" I LOVE that line. But it's hard to sing along though. But i can see the Romanization here. I'm gonna print it out.
