One thing fans of Girls’ Generation can always count on is that you and your members, past and present, are always so grateful for the support that SONEs give. Through your acceptance speeches, Instagram posts, Snapchat videos, and interviews, we can see how thankful you are every moment of every day. Once in a while though, it’s your fans who get a chance to show you how much we appreciate Girls’ Generation, from personal gifts at fansignings to paper events at concerts. Tiffany, today I would like to give my thanks to you.
For years, Girls’ Generation has made me laugh and smile, introduced me to friends all around the world, and brought me to some amazing music. None of this would have been possible without you, and the sacrifices you made to come to Korea so many years ago. I could never imagine leaving behind my whole life, family, and friends for something so uncertain, and I don’t think there are many people who could. Thank you for your courage.
When you opened your Instagram, I was as thrilled as everyone else that I would finally be getting to see and hear so much more from you. We were right to anticipate your Instagram, where you’ve shared over 1,200 short recordings from Girls’ Generation parties, previews from photoshoots, selcas, and so much more that we might never have seen otherwise. Your Instagram was more than I could’ve asked for. Recently though, you went above and beyond by opening a Snapchat, and we’ve gotten more glimpses of your life than ever before. I’ve loved seeing your videos from fashion events, with other members, with the “Sister’s Slam Dunk” team, with the dog filters, and with your actual dogs. Even though “I Just Wanna Dance” and “Heartbreak Hotel” have ended, with your Instagram and Snapchat, it seems we’ve been able to hear from you more than ever before. Thank you for being open and happy to share.
Throughout all of your interviews and fan encounters, there seems to be a common theme that always appears: “Tiffany is so incredibly nice.” In almost every situation, people are made to feel welcomed and appreciated when you are around, in a way that no one else seems able to do. It makes me happy and proud to know that someone I admire so much is also a very friendly, loving person. Thank you for your infinite kindness.
The list of things I’d like to thank you for goes on and on, but I’ll finish here for now by saying that, most of all, thank you for everything that you do. Thank you for your music, your greetings, and your determination. Thank you for your infectious enthusiasm, your silly Snapchat posts, and your love for your group and group members.
