My path towards becoming a Sone starts...
It was back in October 2009 where I was oblivious towards anything related to KPop nor music for that matter. My focus was primarily on school and school alone till the fateful day my brother showed me Big Bang and 2ne1′s joint music video “Lollipop”! I thought it was catchy, cute and colorful so I started listening to Lollipop everyday. I was more interested in 2ne1 than I was in Big Bang since everyone knows Big Bang so I looked for 2ne1′s music via Youtube. The moment I clicked the video was the moment my life changed drastically (for the better)! I didn’t know that the Youtube video I clicked was a back-to-back performance of 2ne1′s “I Don’t Care” and SNSD’s “Tell Me Your Wish”. I read the comments while the video was buffering and I did see quite a handful of Anti-SNSD comments on the superficial level with some Pro-SNSD comments. I thought to myself, I’ll give this “GIRLS GENERATION” a try because I’m pretty open minded and watched the video. After 2ne1′s performance I watched TMYW and didn’t expect much but MAAAN was I wrong! I was completely blown away! Speechless and hooked like a fish out of water. I didn’t know what just happened but after SNSD’s 3 minutes and 38 seconds of performing that one song alone, I was completely attached to them. I completely forgot about 2ne1′s performance and ran to my sister and showed her SNSD’s performance. I spent the next 3 hours watching SNSD music videos, live performances and a few variety shows. I have to say that SONEs really are the best when it comes to SNSD because like Steve, they are eager to show the noobies what SNSD’s all about. Without trying too hard on TMYW’s music video, various comments contained who the members were and when they appeared made the transition so much easier. Forever SOSHI!
