[5.20.12] SMtown Anaheim - Full Fan Account

22 May 2012 - 06:59 AM

Here is my fan account about SM Town Anaheim and about SNSD and especially Hyoyeon. It is super long and a bit embarrassing, but I am just going to put it all out there.

First, let me say this. I had some terrible seats for the concert. I feel sorry for the people who had the seats above us because it must have been even worst for them. We were sitting in the 220 block at the furthest most seats, next to the stage, at the top row, in the corner.. We weren’t even able to see any of the screens because they where straight ahead and right above us. I don’t think we saw any faces at all, which was a terribly bad let down. In fact, it somewhat ruined the concert from me.

I can’t remember everything 100% correctly about the concert itself, but I will try my best to say something about it.

Shinee were the opening act to perform. They were great, but damn, they were short. Taemin looked like he was 5’2” and Minho looked like he was 5’7” at the most. Perhaps it was just from my perspective, but that was the first thing that I noticed. They did five songs I think and were running around the stage and using the stage lift.

SUJU came out and started with Superman. That's a pretty good hype song. I have got to say that out of all of them, Eunhyuk by far has the most style. They were running around the stage and were dancing around water fountains shooting straight upward.

DBSK came onto stage and just owned it. Those two are pretty awesome. I have never seen them in concert, but I see now why they are the top and are loved so much. It really makes me wonder about how impressive DB5K would have been.

Exo came on and I was pretty impressed by them. These guys really are the quintessential SM boy group. They got the style of DBSK, the numbers of SUJU and the youthfulness of Shinee. They were the favorites of the male performers for my family and myself that night. It also really helps that they do have an actual person who can speak English.

Fx came out and omg, I started screaming like a fangirl. All of my family members were laughing at me because it was so hilarious. They were all so gorgeous, Luna and Victoria in particular. Victoria was so hot and Luna was the cutest little thing ever. Amber looks a lot more feminine in real life. They went up and did “Hot Summer” and “NU ABO”. Fx had all the best performances out there that night. I was kind of sad that they only performed Danger as their last song, but all the collabs they had that night made up for it. All of my sisters and nieces, who were all just regular kpop fans, came out loving Fx after the concert. Boa as well.

Boa really is the Queen of Kpop. Next to Fx, she was the best performer there. I really wish I knew her songs from her English album. It would have been so much more awesome, but she did “Hurricane Venus” and that was really exciting. She was asking for a new song from the higher ups and I hope she really gets one. She has got lot more fans on this side now. Btw, she sounds really cute in English.

All of the collaboration stages were the best part of the concert, in my mind.

Amber, Key and Kris doing like a G6 was awesome. Amber owns, she needs to be a solo artist. She could pump up the crowd just by herself.

Luna and Onew did a ballad together. I am a big Luna and Onew(Lunew) fan, so I was just spazzing like crazy the entire time.

Changmin and Kyuhyun serenaded a lucky fangirl to “Just The Way You Are.” That girl must have been so high after that. I was screaming because it was so cute. It would have been so much more awesome if they serenaded a guy though. Well, at least to me.

SUJU and Fx doing Oops was awesome. It was one of my favorite performances of the night as well, behind all of Fx and Boa’s stages. They were all saluting the screen during Heechul’s part of the song, which I thought was pretty awesome.

TERRIBLE SEATS TO THE BEST SEATS EVER!!!

Now I have got to say something. I didn’t even watch half of the concert. My seats were a blessing in disguise. Let me get this out of the way now. I am incredibly mad at myself that I didn’t try to get a camera into the concert. I think I had what turned into the best seats in the house for any SM towner and especially for a Hyohunny. From where I was sitting, I was able to see all the artists preparing to go onto stage and Hyoyeon was there pretty much half the entire concert.

I was able to see all of them watching the concert, playing, laughing, doing interviews and practicing. Everything. Literally, all I did was look behind the stage the entire time just staring at all of the SM Town artists like I was a stalker. And I sort of felt like one too. I was so angry at myself that I didn’t even bother to try to bring a camera into the concert. There were people all around me taking fancams, I really felt like an idiot.

It was so awesome though. I was seeing all the groups intermingle. It was like they were not even groups anymore. It looked like they were just one big family who took care of each other. I saw all the Shinee back up dancers just hanging out with all of EXO. EXO looked really nervous, half of them were just dancing and practicing somewhat. They did at least 10 interviews with members of every group in that area. I saw Taeyeon, Tiffany and Leetuek getting ready to MC from there. I saw SUJU come out with their lit up costumes. Fx was awesome, they were just playing with everyone. Every time they would switch performers, I would see a different group over there.

Everything SNSD from this point on.

Like I said, I had some really bad seats during the concert. I didn’t even get to see any of their faces for their songs that they did choreo for. So that really killed some of their performances for me. I know there are monitors, but you cannot look at a monitor when it is right above you and the other two are straight ahead of you. So, sadly for me, all of SNSD’s performances were mostly in the middle stage. Only “The Boys” was at the front stage, so that was one of my more favorite performances of the night.

During Himnae and Kissing you, they were roaming the stage. Jessica was on my side during Himnae, but she didn’t look over towards us, she was looking forwards towards the cameras. Nevertheless, I was screaming her name out as loud as I could. Seohyun came over as well and she had the crowd on our side waving our hands in the air.

During Kissing You, Tiffany was on our side for a bit and she was doing some fanservice towards us. She looked really happy and I was spazzing out screaming her name and everything.

I was somewhat sad that my bias, Hyoyeon was way up at the front stage. I really did want to see her the most and she is always the best at giving fanservice. I couldn’t even see her on the monitors because of where I was seating. It was a shame that Yuri and Yoona weren’t there, especially during Himnae and Kissing You. There were always two parts that were left vacant when the girls were roaming the stage.

I didn’t really get a good look at RDR Gee and Genie, so I really don’t have that much to say about those. I know I would have completely spazzed about it if I had better seats. This also contributed to why I liked Fx stages better that night, especially the collabs.

Taeyeon doing Devil’s Cry was so awesome. Although I kind of, sort of, missed it a bit. She just looked so great up there.

Jessica and Krystal’s duet was very sweet. I don’t know the song particularly, but all of my sisters and nieces were singing to it.

So yeah, no SNSD collabs besides Jessica. I was really looking forward to a dance stage. That was the main thing that I wanted out of the night. Alas, there was none to be had. I guess the girls have really become just way too busy to do all those extra things that we love so much.

Twinkle was awesome. I was able to see them decently since they were at the front stage. Somewhere around the beginning, Taeyeon had a problem with her sock or shoe. Like a trooper, she fixed it and continued the performance.

The Boys was my favorite performance for me. Firsthand, I like the English version above the Korean version, so I knew all the lyrics and was singing the song with them. Finally being able to see them all upclose, they are all so pretty. Each member is extraordinarily beautiful in very different ways. In particular, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung both looked amazing during the boys performance. Hyo’s solos are to die for and Sooyoung just looks so hot whilst dancing.

Kim Hyoyeon The Angel

Okay, I am a bad SM towner because I didn’t even watch half of the concert. I only really watched Shinee and SUJU’s first stages, and all of SNSD, Fx, Boa and the collab stages. I blame this on the angel that is Kim Hyoyeon.

This angel here was over in the prep area about half of the concert watching her SMtown family at work. She was grooving and dancing to everything. She was playing with all the groups before they would go on stage. She was cheering on everyone. She was doing interviews with Amber and Key and just having fun with everyone.

Do you want to know why I think she is an angel for it? Besides EXO, she was the only SM Towner who came there to watch and cheer for all the groups. Every act would just come before their performances, but Kim Hyoyeon, and only Kim Hyoyeon, would be there to cheer on her SMtown family. She changed out of her golden outfit into her jeans and t-shirt and came back as soon as possible to watch the concert. She stayed there for a few collab stages and returned to the back.

Hyohyuk moment btw. When Eunhyuk and Donghae performed Oppa Oppa, Hyoyeon rushed out from the back to watch the performance. When they were finished, she left to the back and returned by herself awhile later. So let me just put this out there, she ran back to only watch Oppa Oppa, left, and came back later to watch all the collabs, EXO songs and other stages.

She returned during Amber, Key and Kris' collab of "Like a G6." Hyoyeon probably wanted to see all the new material. I am sure that she was envious that she weren't in any special stages because she always has been in them since they debuted.

My Personal Best Moment Of The Concert

Okay, now for the most exciting part of the night for me. When SNSD came out with their golden uniforms into the prep area , I froze for what seemed to be forever. Prior to that, I was pretty calm and the concert was going well. When I saw SNSD, everything just changed: my knees started buckling, I was getting spasms in my hands, my elbows were shaking. Oh god, they were all so beautiful. I was counting and naming them in my head and Yoona and Yuri weren’t there, and I was crying to the heavens about it. I really wanted to see all of them as 9. I especially also wanted to see Yoona because she is my second bias. They weren’t there and I was kind of sad for a bit, just a tiny bit. Then I saw Kim Hyoyeon, my forever bias. She was so beautiful and for some reason I fell in love with her hair. Her hair was just flowing so beautifully(I am such a creeper, I really don’t know anymore…..). I sunk into myself for about 30s and was debating whether if I should go into total fanboy mode.

Okay, I am a really loud guy and I go to a lot of concerts and I always try to rock out at them. So then, I mustered up the strength and broke my inhibitions and totally went into fanboy mode. Let me get this straight really quick, I am at the most opportune seat where I could be seen from the SM town prep area and likewise I had a perfect view of it also.

Everyone was yelling out SNSD around me(fyi, they were prepping for their first stage, so nobody really saw them yet and the prep area really wasn’t supposed to be viewable, yet I had a perfect view of it). So all of SNSD was just doing their thing and ignoring the few fans shouting at them and then…. There was me…. Okay, I am a pretty intimidating looking person irl and I am pretty easy to spot out in a crowd.

I put both hands in the air as high as they can go.

I look down over at the prep area.

Then I scream as loud as I can at the top of my lungs.

HYOYEON!!! HYOYEON!!!

I only yell it twice because after the second Hyoyeon, I was stunned. I literally couldn’t move and I have never been so frozen with excitement in my life.

All of SNSD turns and looks at me!!!

I was being looked at by some of the most beautiful women in the world. It really felt like 7 goddesses looking at a puny human. I have never felt so weak in my entire life. It was as if, I only wanted to worship and love them. I just stood there like a stone for what seemed like ages and when I finally came back to my senses, Taeyeon was already in the middle of doing “Devil’s Cry” and all the girls were running to the middle stage.

I finally snapped out of it as they were starting Run Devil Run. It was a great experience I won’t ever forget.
