[12.10.11] 2011 GIRLS GENERATION TOUR IN SINGAPORE - Day 2

10 December 2011 - 08:56 AM

When I looked at some of the fan accounts from Day 1 of the concert, there were the positive sides.. but there were more negative sides. People throwing stuff onto the stage, forcing Tiffany to ask them to stop. Little to no fan chants, dead crowd except the pit. I didn't know what to expect from Day 2, so I figured it wouldn't be as exciting as I thought.

Turns out.. I was wrong. :)

I (and 2 other friends) were seated at block T39. I was the guy wearing the Soshified t-shirt and the foam heart.. shouting.. a lot. Kicked start with the SNSD intro video followed by Tell Me Your Wish. Most people were just spazzing over seeing the 9 girls in real life, so there wasn't really much fan chants. Just sing-alongs or cheering... this continued on for the next few songs because they were all songs from their japanese album. I don't think there are fan chants for the songs too, so that's understandable.

By the way, the girls were lip syncing for almost all of their songs (excluding solo songs) because the sound system in the stadium is absolute crap.

Sunny wore her revealing outfit for "3" again, woah. Taeny's performance of Lady Marmalade was great as usual. Wasn't really digging Yuri's outfit for her solo stage. The other stages were fantastic too.

It wasn't until the Korean music came in when the whole place started getting on fire. Run Devil Run to Kissing You.. to The Boys and Hoot.. HaHaHa song.. you could hear fanchants for almost all the Korean songs. It isn't as perfect as how Korean SONES do their fanchants, but it's pretty damn good considering how the first day was. We (T39 section) would stand up whenever the girls come close to us.. eventually we just kept standing up and moving our lightsticks to the beat.

By the way, the pink lights in the stadium were beautiful.. just as I imagined. Loads of pink and bluish (SSF) lightsticks everywhere and ... the pictures don't do it justice. Almost everyone was in a good mood, except the people sitting on the middle terrace seats. No lightstick and they don't stand up, it's as if they're watching a movie -.-

Before the concert started, a bunch of soshified people started giving out the fan event papers to everyone. They've worked hard and it really paid off. Good job! When "Complete" started, I didn't know if the event would take place or not. Thankfully, a bunch of people at the T30-T32 section started holding the papers up and just like that, everyone started holding up the papers. I tell you it's the most beautiful sight of the whole concert.. the feeling you get when everyone (and I mean everyone) is holding that single piece of paper for them is truly wonderful. Definitely my favourite moment of today's concert.

Tiffany then started to talk about us doing the fan event.. and of course Choi Sooyoung had to go and say "SONES make us complete"... you can imagine the reaction. Such a touching moment!

Taeyeon gave the most fan service.. Sunny and Hyoyeon too. Taeyeon was just dork dork.

Towards the "end" of the concert, Tiffany said that the upcoming song would be the last song. We all pretended to be really sad, going "awww NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and then Tiffany went "you obviously know this isn't the last song right!!"

Encore started with ITNW and finally Himnae.. which is supposed to be when the Kallang Wave fan event takes place. Ah well, it didn't. Again. I wished we had some people to start the wave instead of just relying on ourselves (because seriously, you can't expect random people to lead.) Furthermore, T30-T39 were just busy standing up and moving our lightsticks to the beat to bother with the Kallang Wave. Haha

That was about it. Great concert.. far better than last night's concert (from a friend that went on both days).

BTW, they were also selling the Mr Taxi repackaged first press editions for $29.90 SGD. It's supposed to be a special price for SONES.
