About Me
Computer scientist interested in East Asian languages and cultures. Avid learner of the Korean language, and intermediate level learner according to the US Department of State OPI test as of August 2012. I'm interested in writing and in game development. I'm also a strong believer in lifelong learning and self-teaching.
And of course, I love SNSD. May they prosper in all they set out to do.

Excellent! Thank you for going through the trouble of browsing and translating these blogs.
I'm very happy that SNSD is having a great reception in Japan. Hope things keep going well for them.

The original text reads:I however don't like how the article mentions about "spreading their more adult-oriented sex appeal".
大人の色気 (otona no iroke; where otona => adult; and iroke => colour, coloring, sex appeal, interest in the opposite sex)
which could translate many ways such as "colored for adults" or "sex appeal geared towards adults" or simply "aimed at adults". But seeing the sensual connotations of 色気, I went with "adult-oriented sex appeal".
Just wanted to mention it, in case people are wondering about how the translation relates to the original. I also mention it because "adult-oriented" may sound to some people as something inappropriate or of poor taste, and I wanted to make clear that the connotation is not that BEG's image has a certain impropriety but simply that while the image of groups such as KARA and SNSD is mainly aimed at young people, the author interprets BEG's image as aimed toward young adults and such.
And also, thank you all for your kind and interesting replies. Your appreciation for my translation is likewise very much appreciated by me. In short, thank you for reading and leaving such kind comments.

I wonder if the fans even notice the heat.........lol
I mean, if I'm seeing SNSD perform live in front of me, the world could freeze over and I likely wouldn't notice...kkk
Anyway, Taeyeon-ssi is wonderful as always. I read somewhere that around 18000 people attempted to attend the event at Ariake...(O_O) (Ariake has a capacity of 10000, by the way). Here's a pic I found at 2ch (a Japanese forum). The author of the post says it's from a Fuji TV exclusive:
The bottom text reads: "18000 people applying for tomorrow's live event." (The news is from 2010/08/24)
