Happy 5th Anniversary!!

I am not very good at expressing myself but i will try my best to express all my feeling and thoughts.

5 Years ago, 9 pretty and innocent young girls debuted with a song, Into The New World. At that time, not many people notice these girls. But they work very hard everyday. Having less than 3 hours of sleep sometime. Practising hard everyday, correcting their mistakes and striving to be better. The 24 hours per day is never enough for them. They need to practise, attend variety show, film CF, attend photoshoot, perform and travel around. Almost everyday, they end their day with a worn-out body. But they never give up, no matter how tired they are or how many times they have fall. They still continue working hard and improve themself.
Today, their hard work have paid off. They have gained popularities worldwide, in Asia and US and other countries. Although, they are now at the top of hallyu and are hallyu leaders, this doesn't stop these loveable girls from working hard. They continue to strive for their best. Everytime they have a comback stage, we fans will be able to see a better and improved version of them. Their hard work have motivated lots of people to also work hard and pursue their dreams. SNSD's hard work, does not only help them to be better but at the same time also help us sones to be better.

These girls have been together for 5 years since they debut. These 5 years may be short for us but it is very long for them. These 5 year, many things have happen and we noticed the change in them. From innocent kids in their 16-18s to cute girls in their 18-20s to sexy and mature ladies in their 20s. They have change to be better during each of their comeback stage.

During the period Gee was released, it was a nice song and it was popular worldwide. I have heard this song and knew that SNSD was the one that sing this song. I like this song and listen to it regularly. One thing i didn't know at that time was how special SNSD was. I always thought that they were some regular stars who are good at singer. After genie was released, i still didn't bother to find out about this girls. After The Boys was released, i still listen to their songs as usual without knowing anything about their background.

It was only earlier year, during my darkest moment of my life when i was about to give up on my studies because i lose the reasons for me to study hard. I didn't understand why and for what we are studying hard for. When looking at my classmates all studying hard, I went to ask them why they study so hard for. The answer i get from them is because everyone is studying. I could't find the reasons why i am suppose to study hard for. Tons of things to study, yet after examination we will forget everything.

After a school day, I was tired. I wanted to change my mood. I decided to start watching We got married, since i heard it was a good show and have always wanted to watch but didn't have a chance. I went into youtube and search for We got Married ep1. The first video on the list was yongseo couple. I started watching WGM yongseo couple. The more i watch, the more i enjoy watching. I really like the show. I find Seohyun unique and i began searching more about SNSD to know more about them. The more i know about them, the more i like them. I began watching the variety shows they appeared in to know more about them. I watched GGTS, SNSD MTV, Hello Baby, etc.

In just a few months, i know alot about them and found out that my heart have fallen for them. It was a first time in my life that i love someone so much that i wanted to express my love for them. I wanted to be their fans. I have always been like an ice, never express my feelings. SNSD melted that ice. The ice that was formed long ago because i wanted to protect myself and i feared of getting hurt. They have not only melted me and change my personality to be more cheerful and express myself better day by day. My days are always filled with happinese after i become their fans. I love and envious their bond and love for each other. I like how they always take care of each other and encourage each other. Although they are not blood-related, they are no different from real sisters or may even be closer than real sisters. I envied them and want to be like them having a close friend. SNSD hard work also make me realised and found out the reasons why we need to work hard. It is for our future and dreams.

After knowing them, my life totally change and i found new hope. From the lazy, lost and unsociable me, i change into a more cheerful, sociable and someone who wanted to work hard for my future. I started to want to work hard to make my future better and able to contribute to the girls by one way or other.

I have always wanted to express my gratitude for the girls for changing my life and making it better. Whenever i see or heard them, i will automatically smile. Whenever i see them cry, i also cry. When i saw that they are sick or tired, my heart hurts so much that i wished i could give some of health or sleep to them. Everyday, my life cannot do without them. They motivate me and change me so much that i really wanted to thank them alot. If possible, i want to be able to thank them personally someday. Although words are not enough to express my gratitude for them, i still want to say thanks alot. . I also want to tell them how much i like them and that i will continue to support them in whatever they do.

Happy 5th Anniversary to SNSD. Thanks alot for being there in my life. I like you alot and will continue to support you in whatever you do. I will work hard so i will be able to contribute to you somedays. I know you guys work very hard but pls remember to take care of your health as it is the most important thing. Happy Anniversary So Nyeo Shi Dae!!!

Thank you for teaching me so many things in life. SNSD changed me. Now the number 9,color pink, peas, cucumbers, sunny weather, mushroom, sharapova, popping, dolphin screams, aegyo, keroro, weird dancing, goguma, people w/ cellphones in the airport, deer, the letter of the alphabet which is “GEE”, simply running in slow motion, archery, picking up things on the floor, taxi, and a bunch of other stuff that will never be the same in a SONE’s point of view. Thank you.

I would like to thank that amazing day when I finally knew about SNSD, 9 angels, 9 goddesses, 9 amazing voices, 9 talented girls, 9 artists. Who give their full effort in every performance, who does their best to reach their dreams, who stayed strong despite every challenge that faced them, who worked hard to be where they are now, Girls’ Generation. But at the same time 9 ordinary girls, who cry, who fall, who commit mistakes, and experience hardships, but because of this, 9 girls learned to live like sisters and depend on each other when the situation is hard and continue to dream and have faith that they will reach their dreams and be the Girls’ Generation that I know now.

Even if I wasn’t a SONE from the time you debuted I promise that I will be a SONE till Forever ends. I will cry when you cry, I will laugh at your dorky acts, and I will keep fangirling over the amazingness of So Nyeo Shi Dae, I will keep supporting until you reach the goal of world domination.

Writing my message early because i might not be around during Aug 5 ):

' Okay ,this is Taeyeon... this is hyoyeon..this is ..why the hell do they all look the same !!" I remembered clearly this is how my reaction was when i first found out about the girls . Starting off as a fan of Taeyeon , to being a normal fan of the girls to beinga full pink-blooded Sone, it has been quite a journey for me too haha. But it was only 2 years ago since I started calling myself a sone. ( I truly regretted that i was not there from the very first ..)

Being a sone has somehow contributed to shape me into who I am today. I would like to say that to me, the girls are my role models. Like a lot of people, I was once an immature fan, saying things like " soshi is better than xxx" or bashing other groups in order to uphold soshi, I was immature ... But as time pass by, I've seen the girls being friends with people from other team, supporting each other friendly and sincerely. Seeing the girls' hardwork and those hardship that they have gone through made me think that " maybe, every idols have to gone through that too .." and as time pass, I've also learnt to appreciate the other performers hardwork an stop bashing them.

And it's also because of them , that i have learnt to appreciate and be grateful of what I have right now. My family and friends . Be grateful of my life , be grateful that i can be someone ordinary and enjoy every thing that life has to offer to me. Really, if you look at fandom with an open mind,you can learn a lot, not just from their perfection but also their imperfection and mistakes.
Regardless of whatothers may say, I truly fully believe in ot9. We fans may ship different pairings but deep down, ot9 is definitely undeniable . It's a bond that the girls and even sones cherish a lot... And this year, we've seen the girls focusing more on their individual work. Imo, I personally think that that is a very good opportunity for each girls to discover themselves. And it's really more heartwarming to see that even though they're each doing individual work, their team spirit is still there, their family bond , it's always nice to see that they support each other really well haha <3

Looking back at soshi's old clip, it feels like they've just debuted lol. Back then , they were just bunch of girls who were excited to know that their going to debut not knowing what's awaiting them in the future but look at where they are now ... And just in a blink of an eye , 5 years passed..

Happy 5th anniversary my girls, may there be more years together . You've promised us that you will work hard so that we can be proud of you. So, I will too work hard in my life to become a fan that you can be proud of too ! 5 years and counting , Let's Go Soshi Let's Go !!. Dear Girls’ Generation, Happy 5th Anniversary! 4 years ago, during the “Kissing You” promotions in January 2008, I became a fan of you girls. I was only 11 in the 6th grade, and now I’m 16, an upcoming junior. What I’m trying to say is I grew up with you girls and when I graduate from high school, get married, and have children, I still want to see Girls’ Generation performing as a group.

I knew I became a fan when I watched the 6th episode of Girls Go To School. I cried seeing you girls being your true selves, playing, eating, and reading with the kids at the school. Taeyeon, the leader who has matured but is still the kid leader at heart. Jessica, the ice princess who seems like a cold person at first, but is actually a kind person. Sunny, the bright energizer with your aegyo that calls for a punch. Tiffany, the girl who is brighter than gems with your eye-smile but is still the mushroom Fany I knew 4 years ago. Hyoyeon, the dancing queen who showed a different side of her this year on “Dancing with the Stars 2”. Yuri, the sexy black pearl who showed her acting skills on “Fashion King” this year. Sooyoung, the shikshin and hilarious imitator, Girls’ Generation wouldn’t be the long legged group without you. Yoona, the goddess with many talents and proves people that you’re more than the ‘face’ of the group. And the maknae Seohyun, the baby who has grown into a mature woman.

Girls’ Generation, debuting as teenagers in high school to becoming Korea’s nation girl group, you have made us S♡NEs proud of your accomplishments and making your dreams come true. As a 'samchon fan' from Hawaii, I feel a bit embarrassed . I cannot recall how I happened upon either a song or maybe Taeyeon singing an OST; but, i was drawn to find out more about the act which led me to GIRLS' GENERATION. Hyoyeon was the initial visual attraction with her 'sun-bleached' colored hair(like a surfer-girl); Taeyeon with her voice and the rest as I listened to their songs . Congratulations on 5 years of musical success and friendship! May the long road in Life be full of group good fortune; individual gains and happiness; and many more years of musical achievements/memories . Five years ago, August 5th, 2007, you were taking your first steps together as a group, ready to chase after a big dream. A big dream that the 9 of you shared and chased with all your hearts, and that now has finally come true.

USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Paris, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Thailand. You've been to all these places and you made fans cry, scream and smile like never. You've earned love and hearts all over this world, you are making, step by step, this generation a Girls' Generation, indeed. Do you girls remember how everything started? I bet you do. Sometimes, I wonder if you still feel nervous when you need to perform Into The New World, that song that changed your lives and the lives of many people. Why? Because with that song, the group that would be able to change people's live, people's way of being, people's minds and make them become better persons, debuted.

In this year, 2012, I complete 2 years since I became a SONE. Honestly? Becoming a SONE and getting into you girls was probably the best choice of my life. Actually, it wasn't really a choice. I think people look up for things that make them feel happy, complete, warm inside. At least, I've been looking up for this thing. I've been looking up for something that would make me be who I really am. I was looking up for this thing until I met you, girls.

I thank all 9 of you as helped me overcome many of the difficulties I have experienced. Although I have not been a fan for nearly as long as most of the other members of Soshified, these few months have definitely been the happiest few months of my life. I used to be cold and pessimistic, I was arrogant and ignorant. I could not see the good in anything. However, something about the 9 of you changed me. I essentially changed into a whole new person. I now see things in a much more optimistic way. I am also more positive and can see good in all situations.

It's almost been two years since I've been a SONE. From the Genie MV that caught my interest to funny and touching clips that captured my heart, you girls have turned my soul pastel rose pink. SNSD came together for me in many ways. I love their voices, both speaking and singing. I love their individuality, each adding their own flavor and personality to the group. I love their teamwork, a friendship, an unbreakable precious bond that I never knew possible. I love their kindness, towards each other, towards SONEs, towards humanity. I can continue on and on but SONEs know how SNSD are and how they've changed our life for the better.

The girls have grown a lot since debut (but not in size lol. Sorry Taeyeon and Sunny). As I watch videos throughout the years, I see improvement in vocals, dance, variety skills, and acting skills. SONEs around the world are proud of SNSD. I wish I could have known about SNSD from the very beginning. Although I wasn't there in the beginning, I will be there till the end. From fresh and natural looking little girls to high fashion and classy women
From dancing with lollipops on hands to pointing arrow and guns as spies
From singing gee gee gee and no no no no to becoming marine genies
From becoming cute and charming cheerleaders to sexy and tough ladies
And most of all...
From being just 9 simple girls with extraordinary personalities to becoming the 9 angels in our hearts that we will treasure forever

Everytime you would read a fairytale, it's already a given that it starts so magical, so nice, so calm, so perfect that it's not a doubt dreams would come true in such settings. But unlike those fairytales, the Soshi fairytale didn't start as magical, as nice, as calm and certainly not as perfect but the only similar thing is that there's hope that dreams definitely do come true.

A dream. That's where it all starts. 9 extremely different young girls with a dream to someday see their faces on the TV, their voices in albums that sells millions and even their pictures being taken by a lot of fans. But in an industry where the competition is really high, they knew they have to work hard to achieve that dream, and so they did. Sweat, time, effort, blood, they sacrificed them to prepare themselves. It was not a short journey, 6 years, some 7 years, years of training until finally an announcement about a girl group being formed is made. Finally! They can showcase what they have prepared and start this dream.

Started as 15, then as 13, and the final cut was 9, it must have been just a random number that Lee Soo Man seongsannim picked or maybe he didn't even taught about the number, that simple number that becomes special after being converted into a sone. What happened was unexpected for them. They haven't even debut yet their already being criticized, people haven't seen their full potential but already saying bad things about their talent, they haven't known the beauty that lies behind that pretty faces yet their already hating on them.But a dream fueled with perseverance and the power of nine can't be held for so long.

Each other have been their source of strength, each shoulder is a shoulder to cry on, each hand a hand to hold in times of need and each smile, a smile to empower them. Soon after, they realized that it's not only the nine of them in the story, millions and millions of fans, supported them, love them and adore them.



Over the past 5 years, a lot of things have happened, have changed but beyond all of this, there's something unchangeable, that the love of sones + snsd will forever stay the same. Right Now, Tomorrow and Forever.

Time went by so fast girls, and yeah it’s your 5th anniversary already. First, congrats for the anniversary, you already work so hard since your debut time and it’s finally comes to fruition that you not only success in Asia but also reaching the world.

And I’m sure all your hard works since your trainee days has been paid off now.

Well since I know you I am truly proud of you. For me you are the miracle of the 21th century that always gives me power and inspiration to do everything in my life, especially when I’m down. You always encouraging me, because you always energetic and passionate in everything you do and yet stay humble after all success you got. But the most meaningful for me is that you never give up and keep working hard until the path to success is open for you (in 2009 of course).

When I know about you first, I really don’t pay too much attention to you. But when I finally know about your hard work I’m really immersed by you, especially your passion and cheerfulness since the day of your debut that I believe help and become the major factor of your success besides never ending support from all sones all around the world that always cheer up you.

For this time, I hope that So Nyuh Shi Dae will be last forever and always remains in the heart of all sones, I’m also hope and wish that you will gain much more success and happiness than last year. Not only in music but also in other field, like acting, musical, endorsement even as ambassador.
