i know this post is super late since the concert was last year november but i guess i never knew about this part of soshified as i am always just watching the videos but after finding these fan accounts and their experiences
i am motivated to share mine and maybe it will intrigue someone out there

after i finished my HSC(high school certificate) or college entrance exam on the 9th of november, i decided to do something crazy and become a hardcore soshi fanboy after years of just watching them on screen. so i looked up snsd's arrival time but hardly found anything on the net, however i eventually found s site which said they were arriving at 6:45 on the korean air flight on the 11/11/11 so me and my friend decided to sleep overnight(inspired by the movie "the terminal") at the sydney airport to ensure that we were the first ones at the arrivals. I was full excited that we were gonna sleep at the airport because i always thought that airports were 24/7 with heaps of travellers but i was mistaken since apparently theres a curfew at the airport between 12-5 where planes cant land due to noise traffic or watever|

so we got there ate stuff and walked around till 12 and went to this place where people who were waiting for their flights but could not find a hotel would stay. this place was a huge disappointment compared to the movie where Tom Hanks was allowed to sleep like anywhere in the JFK airport but we were lucky because i brought my laptop there and they had a powerpoint. So we were just watching running man with snsd which was hilarious which im sure you've all seen.

so after a long night, the airport was opened again and we went straight to the arrival where they were gonna come out from, we were definitely really early and we were trying to figure out the best spot to film from and get their attention. also i had brought blank posters and a permenant marker with me so i decided to quickly make a rush poster to increase my chances of getting noticed whereas my friend refused to make one. so I started to make one saying

'seohyun saranghe' with a love heart and one saying 'SNSD JJANG' both in korean which i got from google translate and wiki so i was unsure of the accuracy and legibility. after a while two korean girls arrived and I was thinking of going to ask them if my poster was correct as they were speaking fluent korean to each other and i was too shy so as time went by, more and more ppl arrived mostly tvxq fans,a bit of b2st and some cn blue fans but still no SNSD fans. at this time i thought maybe snsd just isnt that popular in australia compared to other groups but then an interviewer for i dunno wat asked ppl around who they were here for and would most like to see

when it came to us and we told them girls generation. they looked at us with a confused expression and said "umm girls genereation is arriving tomorrow at 6:45 "(apparently they had music bank on that day) our expressions turned dark from fatigue and just thought you fkn kidding me. FML. then they even said hey lets take a photo of these snsd fans who came a day early. we were just smiling bitterely. so ill skip through this but we saw the other groups that came cn blue, kara etc which was funny because the whole crowd would get hyped up everytime they see an asian person walk out from the arrival. we decided we were not gonna sleep over again and just go home and catch a train in the morning although i doubt we were gonna get the best spots

so next day we took a train back to the airport after some sleep and rushed to the arrival where we already saw out sweet spots being taken where this time the arrival of SNSD was confirmed by the waves of pink and snsd signs and soshified hearts. it was good to see that there were so many SONEs in australia but at the same time sad because we didnt get a good spot.
so we ddecided to stand outside the airport where there was a path for them to walk to their bus which was actually better than inside becasuse it was less crowded, this video should explain alot

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=9iKeuWpRUQE

the sad thing was we didnt know when they were coming and heard many screams from inside which were false alarms
however we did get to chat to the korean people responsible for organising them, and so i got to ask them if my posters were corect.
so when they finally arrived and heard roars from inside i could not hold in my excitement and shock as you see in the video and constantly tried to zoom in and zoom out. at the point when i saw the girls walking out i just froze up and just said there names hoping to get a smile. first was jessica who didnt have sunglasses on which i prefer cos i want to see their pretty eyes, then i just called out sunny!,yuri! and for some reason i didnt call out yoona and sooyoung and tiffany's name. I felt so bad after watching it again. It was probably because I was seohyun biest during then and was just scouting for her out of the 9 girls. The time came when i saw her and just couldnt hold in my excitement and just shouted seohyun!seohyun! seohyun! she looked at me directly, smiled and waved and time just stopped for me but i saw taeyeon and immediately started screaming her name as well which made my voice break and its recorded on the video.

the things that stood out to me during that moment was that yuri and yoona were just so like calm and beautiful although i wish they would show me their dorky side. They were also really tall even though im 180cm. they were at my level probably cos they were wearing heels.Yoona was a bit down on that probably due to fatigue which sucked and IM SO SORRY FOR NOT CALLING YOUR NAME!!! she probably was sad cos no one screamed for her. I also noticed that tiffany who was walking infront of seohyun glared at me when i was calling seohyuns name which gave me the idea she must of thought "look at this guy with the rushed made sign" which made me feel sad but i regret not seeing her eye smile and screaming her name as well now because shes really nice. Im sorry tiffany if you ever read this!

i really regret not geting them anything like a koala doll to remind them of their first visit to sydney and since they have such a tight schedule they probably couldnt go anywhere in sydney to get souveniers. I really want to do something that will stick with their memory and llike mention it on a variety show or to each other like this fan did THIS. so im a bit upset that i didnt do anything special. Any ideas?

yea so anyway after they got the bus, the only ppl who were visible to us were tiffany, jessica and taeyeon and they were all waving to us but taeyeon stood out with her interaction to her fans as she constantly stood up and made hearts and waves and hearts again.it was magical but too short.
afterwards their bus came back but less ppl were there as they all went to the concert to line up to get the best seat probably but i was waiting with my friend for secret's arrival. unfortunately this time they had their curtains pulled but tayeon waved again passionately. Then i decided to go on the other side of the bus which was on the road where all the traffic was leaving. but on that side we could clearly see sunny sleeping with her short blonde hair and her dr dre beats. this was when we were standing on the path so about 3m away but i decided to go right up to the window and record sunny sleeping hehe. I was literally seperated by that glass and really wanted her to wake up and see me but i didnt wanna wake her up as she probablywas really tired so i controlled myself lol and just recorded. but again taengoo who was sitting on the opposite side where the curtains were pulled saw us on this side and gave us hearts and smiles which made me feel so happy because there wasnt that many ppl there so i felt special. so after a while, their manager eventually saw us and pulled the curtains for sunny to sleep in peace and sunny woke up to pull the curtains as well but she was half awake so she didnt look at us at all which sucked and then their bus went off, the end of my airport experience

just a few comments on the actual concert. it was my first concert not just snsd but in general so when i saw the vip price being $295 i was just not willing to pay that so i got the gold tickets for 185. That was a HUGE mistake since my seat was so far away i couldnt see them clearly and didnt get a chance to catch their roses during kissing you or get any signed balls, that pissed me off that our seats were so bad, i literally had to stand up the whole performance just to get a good view and was unsure whether to record the stage or the big screen because i wanted to record them on the stage and not on the screen which i can see online but my camera could only do so much. My friends and I were asking each other which performances they would do since they only had time for 3 songs. So they did the boys, Gee and Kissing you which were wonderful but i wanted to see Genie alot. so yea i guess I'll end it here

I really want to attend a SNSD concert now because 3 songs was just not enough, im so jealous of ppl in asia who get to see their concerts and i couldnt be there in singapore during the moment where everyone put up the signs. and i really wanna attend the upcoming concert in hong kong on the 15th of january but NO MONEY and since im from there. it sucks even more.
NEXT TIME for sure i will get the best tickets in the house and plan everything before they arrive so I will get their attention like calling them by their nicknames and having funny pictures of them. so they wont be able to hold in their laughter and show their dorky side

Being an Aussie and totally oblivious to their existence until recently. All I can say is Dam!

Over the last six months I've slowly discovered Girls' Generation (SNSD). My first sighting of them was on YouTube and the music video to Mr Taxi. It was a recommendation that popped up on YouTube's main page and me being a guy, I just couldn't resist clicking on the image with the nine gorgeous looking women on it and what I saw was mesmerizing to say the least. I spent the rest of the night search for music video of Girls Generation.

Later on I discovered that there where these whole series reality shows with SNSD and if I searched for Soshi Subs I could find them with English subtitles. I was amazed that you could follow their career from the very first release until present day. I was a great insight into the group dynamic and I love watching these girls interact with each other, very entertaining

So I'm rather disappointed that I found out that they were in Australia and I missed them. Dam!

However I did get a hold of their First Japan Tour Blu-ray which is an awesome experience of sound and vision. Like having your own personal concert to watch whenever you want.

im glad u became a SONE and i too got to know them through youtube as well but in a different way, i was shown to another girl group which then was compared to snsd and thats when i fell in love with them
i cant believe u didnt hear about the sydney kpop festival since u said u knew them 6months ago. how could u have missed out on the big news
but i really hope they will come again to australia and have their own concert but it will be difficiult since we are a pretty small country in terms of population and dunno if there would enough fans in australia to go to their concert
i know i would though haha

Hopefully they will continue to release more English language tracks and become more popular in Australia. I thought The Boys was a great introductory track for the American market. Also Diamond (another English language track) which is on the SMtown Winter 2011 album is quickly becoming my favourite Girls' Generation song.

Awhhhh, I need them to come to Perth! That's where I'm at lol. But most likely not, the market is too small compared to other big cities such as Melb and Syd.......... :(

Bro, the only good thing we have in Australia (compared to others) is maybe clean air. lol.
Being a Sydneysider myself, I don't think even Melb or Syd have it that much better...
Kpop fest was pretty much like a one-off thing really. Cool anniversary numbers don't happen that often lol.

I was a bit disappointed we didn't get any "put it back on" treatment (watching HK fancams are making me SUUUPER jelly),
but it was still an awesome experience nonetheless!!!

However, after my HSC this year ima go to Asia myself and watch some proper GIRLS' GENERATION TOUR!! (and wherever the next SMTown or other concert may be). :D:D
