I was thinking to make donation for the people in Haiti at school anyway, and this project just works perfectly with the plan
For now:
Amount: $20
Username: Hasomy
that's all I can donate at this moment

Just a side note about paypal. Even though you select Personal - Gift option paypal still charges you 2.9% + $0.30 USD if you use Debit or Credit card or Paypal credit. but it will be FREE when the money comes from PayPal balance or bank account.

if you have a credit card all you need to do is to link it t your paypal account and when you select "Send money" to send someone cash..there is an option to choose the currency to send in. Which i believe is set at US Dollar by default.
the Paypal will do the currency conversion from USD to won for you. note if you are selecting it by personal payment there is still a small fee.. as for myself i have chosen to absorb the fee myself so for example for a US$10 donation the final amt is a little over $10.
great! thanks winston :]] appreciate it :]

Amount: ~it's written on the donation form.

A small bit in paying forward the international support and love my country received in two recent disasters. Praying for the people of Haiti, hope your government doesn't muck up the donations. hehe.

Cos I've just send the donation via paypal in SGD
First time noob using paypal~
Pls let me know if there's a problem with that so I can rectify it
Username: choki
Amt: SGD$50 (sent)
Edit: And there are still admin fee involved in paypal regardless of the gift mode but I can absorb it (just the whole idea of having to pay paypal admin fee instead of getting the full amount across for donation purposes kinda makes me wish that paypal should have a special account for donating to worldwide relief)

Ooops must the amount be in USD?
Cos I've just send the donation via paypal in SGD
First time noob using paypal~

Username: choki
Amt: SGD$50
choki, dun worry there isnt any issue just that the receipent will see the amt in USD when paypal does the currency conversion from SGD 50 to USD.
just that i doubt the rates in paypal are the "best" ard..lol
I figure S$50 will translate to ard USD 35+ i think..
i think u logged in to paypal.com.sg the local site instead of paypal.com that might explain the default currency being Sing $.

About to buy a note in the newspaper, I don't know if that's really necessary. I better all the money raised be used to help the earthquake victims, in my opinion.

Amount : $32
I'd go with the biggest part for the quake's donation, and for the ad, the smallest amount.
Great idea to donate through this occasion to help the population of Haiti. Hope everyone
could contribute to this project!

Also--not to advertise something else--but American SONEs can donate directly to the Red Cross by texting 'Haiti' to the number 90999 with your cell phone. Doing that will donate 10 USD directly to Haiti -- you can do it up to three times for 30$, and the amount is added onto your phone bill for that month. Because it's to the Red Cross, it goes along with Sooyoung's birthday charity.
If you can do it online, that's awesome because then we can show how much money Soshified can raise under Sooyoung's name. But if you have no other option, the texting thing could work. The downside is that we won't be able to say it's for Soshified--but those people in Haiti really need help right now, and we'll know who it's for.
PayPal if you can, and if you're too young or you don't have an account, just use your phone ^^
Good work SONEs and happy birthday Sooyoung-unnie!!
