Hey ^^, i use quite a few different tools. MPEG Streamclip to remux from .TP/.TS file to .mpg. Then virtualdub to do the conversions. There are a couple of plugins and special settings i then use from there to up the frame rate to 60fps and convert to h264... but too much to explain in a comment. If you really want a detailed explanation shoot me a PM.
