They always do that. The Japanese market is immense, wealthy, and within a short plane ride. They've been doing that since the early 2000's, and it works out wonderfully. BoA started it, DBSK expanded it, now SNSD's going at it. Plus, when you have 400,000 applicants for 10,000 seats at a concert, you pay attention to that market.
