I'm using my readers POV for this one. We readers love surprises, something unexpected, but first, you need to fulfill what we like, which is the pairing, if your looking up to writing romance. Right now forbidden love is more famous around here, yes, Yuri; Teacher-student, Time traveller, Fantasy, Vampires, but what readers love to read is a fic about their biased pair. XDDD

Oh sure. You just need a plot.
Some choices for your fic like the use of styles which is either third person or first person, descriptive or more on dialogue, the use of genre and characters applied in the story. You can have a proofreader to check up your writing after wards.
