#3787289 [INTERVIEW] Everything about Seohyun

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 04 May 2011 - 12:14 AM

it's similar to what I translated yesterday.
But, it's different content, and it was much longer
imo, it's a great article. She thinks really deeply, and has definitely matured with her thinking.

----------------------------------------------

A day that spring flowers were swaying by wind, I met Seohyun, who is suitable for warm spring.

My first impression on her was long hair, with round, big, and black eyes. She is only 21 years old.

Seohyun in Girls' Generation, known as mature and wise member, unlike how maknaes are usually like.
Some people might question if this is manipulated character because of celebrity world which could be described as rough.
The reason why Seohyun of now exists is that she was always a hard critic on herself.

Posted Image

"If you don't act without thinking, I think the life just goes on like water leaking. So I think there should always be principle and subject. I'm usually a type that I control myself to not cross the line.
Others might think I'm narrow-minded. I also see myself as narrow-minded sometimes. But I want to live a life that I wouldn't be ashamed of myself."

As I saw careful, but very opinionated Seohyun, I thought she would be more skillful in academic studies. Because she showed a lot of interests in literature and philosophy, maybe humanities was more suitable for her.

How did she get into entertainment world?

"I was recruited on subway when I was in 5th grade. I never dreamed about becoming a singer, and never had interest."

The ones who helped her get into entertainment world are her parents. They didn't push her into it, but as they tried to have her experience varieties of activities, they helped her get into entertainment world.

"Back then, my parents wanted to find me something that is suitable for me, and had me experience variety of things. I learned many things from horse riding to violin, piano, skating, and double-headed drums.
Parents didn't willingly recommend being a celebrity. But I told them 'I want to try'. After getting camera test, I was informed I passed the test, and started a trainee life."

As Seohyun experienced happiness through being SM Entertainment trainee with challenging trainings, she decided to be a singer.

"My dream was to be a person giving lots of happiness and joy to others. As a trainee, I realized many people are really happy when they listen to music. Then, I decided to become a singer."

Seohyun is a only child. It's wrong to think 'Because she is a only child, she must be self-centered'. She is rather full of understanding and care for others.

Seohyun has 8 unnies in Girls' Generation. They're not just unnies, but are filled with ambition in singing, dancing, and acting. As she lived with them, she said she learned her opinion isn't always right. Would she fight with unnies?

"It would be a lie if I say I haven't fought with them. Like real sisters, we quarrel and get sulky on nothing important. I think our bond has gotten stronger because of it. We have a family-like relationship where we talk like nothing happened after quarreling. To be honest, it's hard to have a friend beside me in life, who has same dream as mine, and go to the same way. But I'm thankful of the fact that we're walking to the same path with same goal. So I can call unnies, 2nd family. I'm always thankful of the members because of it. (laugh)"

Besides Girls' Generation members, Seohyun had another family member past few months. He is CNBlue Jung Yonghwa, whom appeared as her husband in MBC variety program 'We got married'.

Two, who were called as 'Yongseo couple', showed teenage love story throughout the filming. Because Seohyun was relatively unknown member compared to others, it was a program that she was able to step a little closer to the fans. What does 'We got married' mean to Seohyun?

"I never had any dating experience before. But I got to date through pretend marriage. It was a fun experience and I learned some things through program that schools don't teach. Of course, there are some regrets. Because I have a personality that I don't open up my mind and approach to others, I think Yonghwa oppa had hard time. I tried hard to make him comfortable. But since I showed many good sides of me, even with few regrets, the program helped me a lot.

I asked her to pick out her most memorable moment.

"The most memorable event is knitting a muffler for Yonghwa. I think it's more meaningful to give a small present filled with sincerity than any big and fancy events.
When I get a boyfriend later, I want to hold a meaningful event like making a hand-made photobook.(laugh)"

21 year old Seohyun wants to learn more and do more things. She is currently attending Dongguk University acting major. She carefully said she has ambition in acting. She wants to change herself to variety of characters, from sonyuh character like herself, to role with action scenes.

"I want to do acting as a role of a student, which can only be done in my age range. I like a role that Moon Geunyoung took in a movie 'Little bride'. I also like historic dramas, and I think 'Hwangjinee' would be interesting. Also, I want to try taking a tough character such as spy, and female detective. For example, I want to try Kim Taehee's role in drama 'Iris'. I want to show Seohyun with many different charms that can't be found in real life."

Seohyun has real passion in things in what she does, and has another dream. Since she is a human, there are times she feels stressed. Then, she visits a park in front of her house. She said she feels the breeze while listening to music. When I asked her if people don't recognize her, she replied even though she's only wearing a cap, they don't recognize her.
She likes it that way. Girls' Generation Seohyun, who is always bright, and firm, What's her plan for the future?

"First, I'm going to focus on activities as Girl's Generation. I want to show ourselves stretching activities in Asia. When We get a chance, I want to go around many countries, and communicate with many fans closely. I think that is what I, and Girls' Generation have to do."

#3783167 [INTERVIEW] Soshi Seohyun, "Interested in what is justice"

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 03 May 2011 - 12:48 AM

Girls' Generation Seohyun greeted me, blinking her round and black eyes. When I handed her a picture of brain map, she showed excitement by saying it's a fun interview. But she started thinking right away.

Seohyun apologized in advance, "Usually, when I receive this, I can't fill this out quickly". What did she write down as her recent interest after thinking? We explored her brain.

"What is justice?"
Recently, Seohyun was deeply moved by reading a book 'Justice: What's the right thing to do?' by Harvard professor Michael Sandel.
While she was reading the book, she constantly asked herself, 'Am I going into right path?' and 'Am I acting according to my beliefs?'.

Seohyun thinks a lot and has careful personality, that she definitely might have concern about obvious things. As a woman in early 20's, she said she lives life asking philosophical questions, setting her own rules.

"Parents, Soshi unnies, fans, I love you"
Parents, the reason why she exists, 2nd family Girls' Generation that she was able to choose, and fans, are who she loves the most. Seohyun stated that these three are most important to Seohyun and need to be thanked.

"Future singer songwriter?"
Recently, Seohyun is deeply into composing songs and lyrics. She said when she listens to new music, she starts composing new songs by her instinct. It's wrong to think girl group just dances to choreography made in advance and pursues music that only becomes one hit wonders.
There are people like Seohyun who searches deeply looking for meaning of music.

"I can't forget Yongseo Couple"
Another discovery of Seohyun through MBC variety program 'We Got Married', she sincerely gave full effort even if it was small present. Many male fans became 'Seohyun-deprived' as they watched Seohyun who looked for happiness in her daily life.

On show, Seohyun expressed her love for sweet potatoes. In result, she said she received different types of sweet potatoes such as purple sweet potato, pumpkin sweet potato, chestnut sweet potato.

"I want to go to school"
As Seohyun is attending Dongguk University acting major, she is currently taking time off from school due to busy schedule. She said she learned something big as she took philosophy course in first semester. She answered back that though it's a study that is hard to understand right away, that's the beauty of it.

Not only that, Seohyun is deeply into studying Japanese to communicate with Japanese fans. She said she now has no problem understanding and speaking without translator. She expressed her desire to expand that ability for English.

"Airport fashion, always a concern"
Girls' Generation airport fashion is always a hot topic within the netizens. She honestly said it's something that she can't worry about because she is revealing herself to fans off stage. I look forward to her airport fashion as she looks like a goddess wearing just jeans and a shirt.

#3626176 [INTERVIEW] Jessica and designer Son Jungwan

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 29 March 2011 - 12:59 PM

Lady, to woman.... woman, to maestro

"I shouted out as soon as I saw her. I don't want to be remembered as just cute idol. Find me characteristics that I didn't know that I had myself."
"Lady who just appeared in front of me....her sophisticated youth, elegant look inspired me from deep inside."

I was hungry, impatient, and needed someone. Then, meeting between Son Jungwan and Girls' Generation Jessica - "Designer and muse' the second story.

"I was hungry for challenge. I was needlessly impatient for thinking that I shouldn't settle for current success. I needed young muse that need to move me, and then I met Jessica. As soon as I saw her, I thought 'Ah, she can inspire me'.(Son Jungwan)

"I was the one who found her first. 3~4 years ago, I was avaricious wanting to get out of image as cute idol singer. I remember what I shouted as soon as I saw her. 'Help me find me characteristics that I didn't know that I had myself!'" (Jessica)

Posted Image

Designer Son Jungwan(52) and idol group Girls' Generation member Jessica(22, Jung Sooyeon), met for first time 4 years ago. The relationship started when Jessica came to Son's fashion show and greeted. At then, they didn't know each other.
They met at perfect timing unexpectedly, in a way that they both wanted to break out of the barrier of desires they had. Like that, they just had brief greetings and had its turning point.

Designer and muse dreaming of evolution

The first question that was directed at them was about 'change'.

-They said they both have new turning point.

Son: I came back after finishing a show at Lincoln Center in New York on Feb. 17th. I got on the New york fashion week stage for first time in 24 years since debut. Out of 147 designers who were on the show, I was one of the 15 people whom youtube broadcasted live. Actor Allen Rickman, Singer Aubrey O'Day came to watch the show. I was full of joy when I saw 450 seats and standing seat all filled.

Jessica: I'm in the recording room day and night to prepare for new album in Japan that will be out in early April. I was busy taking album pictures. If I had time, I wanted to go to go her New York show....

Posted Image

-Do you remember the first time you met each other?

Son: We greeted in fashion show stage. When people think of idol singers, most just think of cute image. I did too. But Jessica looked a little different. She greeted me in sincerely and her attitude had elegance. Should I say I saw sophisticated youth, and elegance look?

Jessica: I greeted her nervously because she was a designer I always looked up to. She took it cheerfully and I became relieved right away. So I asked her right away which cloth she liked out of all her work.

-When did you start dreaming about change through each other?

Son: From last year, I always thought of wanting to debut in New York. But it's been 20 years which I didn't.
I'm a successful designer in Korea. But I wanted to go on new stage with more powerful piece. Then, Jessica's joke gave me great idea, when she said 'When you sketch, I think you will be successful in New York if you make cloth for people of my generation'. As soon as I heard that, I thought 'She is right'. I grabbed a pen right away and started planning ideas for New York collection.

Jessica: I think I changed my style from couple years ago by looking at her collection. Because of barrier that I was 'Sonyuh singer'(sonyuh means lady), I always got on stage wearing cute clothes, and didn't wear skirts that much thinking that I might look old.
But after I started musicals and debuting in Japan, I restarted the thought that 'I need to be different'. Then, her collection was big influence on me. I changed my style to more romantic and mature clothing.

Posted Image

-Son, uniting two different charms

-Did the cloth Jessica wore today come from this background?

Son: Yes. It's mysterious colored silk dress that is neither gold nor gray. I wanted to make cloth that gave satisfactory feel without any exposure. It was a cloth that I put out for New York collection stage, but was also for Jessica.

Jessica: I love it. I think others will say this is the first time seeing this side of me. When I looked through this New York show lookbook, should I say it was a combination of material that people think it wouldn't be suitable? It was mysterious and complex feelings.

Son: How did she know? It's actually complex and messy when I mix materials such as beads, knit, silk, leather, and milk. I wanted to mix these and produce creative cloth never seen before. It's a cloth that looks like a child, but when you look again, it produces full of maturity, innocence, and has smoothing appeal, like Jessica (laughs).

Posted Image

-Jessica, becoming a woman

-I hear Jessica specifically ordered cloth from designer Son.

Jessica:
I always order. I asked her to make many clothes for people who aren't so tall like me(164cm)(laughs). But surprisingly, she offered me long dress, like skirt that I wore in last year's Seoul fashion week. Before that, I didn't wear much because I didn't have much courage. But when I wore it, I looked much more slim, and more feminine. These days, I'm taking her advice trying to wear boot cut trousers.

Son: Since I went to New York after getting influenced by Jessica, I think it's her turn to start a new adventure. I think it's fine to try 1970's fashion in Japanese stage. It's okay to give voluptuous feel, and I'm thinking about going to New York stage again in autumn, with new set of mind.

Jessica: I found change in myself because of her. Should I say evolving into a singer with creating a style for myself rather than passive idol? I'm happy to get that chance. Because endless change means youth.

#3613519 [OTHERS] Yoona's winning newspaper composition

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 25 March 2011 - 10:54 PM

Posted Image

For those Yoong addicts, you might remember this from from Yoona's Manwon Happiness.
Her homeroom teacher said she got second place in composition in school, that got on her school newspaper.
She didn't "win", but we all like to make her a winner :P
So this is it!! the composition!!
Keep in mind that this is translated and won't be as good :(

Title:The letter

Letter is a good way of communicating. There are times letters can deliver words that are hard to express and embarrassing to say. Even for receivers, they can comprehend the words in different ways than when they hear the words with their ears.
I write letters and greeting cards often on special occasions. Rather than text message, phone calls, or talk directly, I think writing letters is much more meaningful and delivers words better.

Delivering words by talking directly is good way. But it feels like I'm delivering words abstractedly, and words don't get remembered well. However, when it's written in a letter, it makes better impact, and gets remembered more easily. Also, I think people can receive the feeling 'This person is thinking about me this much'.

The reason why I emphasize that letter is a good way is because of my experiences, and because I felt it. That's why I keep recommending letters and think positively about it. Anyone would have experienced few times, but I have many good memories about letters. I'm going to list a few.

This occurred when I was in 4th grade. There was a time I had to move to different school, and move to the house I'm currently living in. At that time, my homeroom teacher from past school handed out colored A4 papers cut in half to all my classmates, one each. I didn't get the paper. No, she didn't give it to me. It turns out that those were letters that my friends wrote. My homeroom teacher gathered the letters together, including his own letter, made a cover, and used a paper clip to hold them together. That was so moving and I was so thankful......
Those letters are now kept in a box that I keep precious items. When I take them out and read, they're fun and I remember the faces of those friends.

Also, about a year ago, a friend I was close with had to emigrate. I remember writing 100 letters and giving it to her. It was a new experience and I feel that it was a gift that she will always remember. Also, another treasured memory is from past Teacher's day. For those who I was really thankful of, I bought pretty ribbon cards and wrote what I wanted to say, and things I'm thankful for. I was glad because I think I delivered thoughts and words I couldn't say directly. I was happy to see them smile when they received my cards.
I felt comfortable writing words in the cards things that were hard and too embarrassed to say directly, and I think those who received the cards would be happy. On special occasions(Christmas or New year's day), I write letters to all the people I like. I felt good about it and from two years ago, I started writing greeting cards to many people. Maybe because I can remember more, and like receiving the letters, I also like giving them.

Because of many treasured memories I have about the letters, rather than ordinary memories, they were treasured ones. Do many other people have many treasured memories about letters like me? I think there are people who don't. If there are any, I feel pity for them. It's not too late. Write a letter to those who you're thankful of, people who love, and people you want to remember.
You feel better when you think of people who receive your letters, being thankful and happy that you will start writing more letters. Originally, I didn't like writing them because I didn't have pretty hand writing. But at some point, I liked writing and receiving letters. People write e-mails these days often these days. But I think letters written by hand is more meaningful.

I think letters are each rings that connect people person by person. When there are times you want to repay or send your feelings, phone calls, text messaging, and email is a good way. But I think writing letters by hand in a neat paper is a good way to deliver their sincerity and heart.

#3609888 [OTHERS] Jessica mentioned in autobiography of former SM trainee

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 24 March 2011 - 08:41 PM

same autobiography, this time, about Jessica :)

note: sunbae unnie is a term to call a girl who is senior to you(when you're a girl yourself). Jessica became a trainee before Jang Hajin.
So just think that sunbae unnie = Jessica :)

Sica unnie story

At middle of night of one day

When I sing, there is a memory I remember.

It was a night of day that it's been at least a year since I became a trainee. As I was practicing, my cellphone rang. When I checked, it was a call from sunbae unnie.

"I'm in a practice room right now in basement. Can you come?

Huh? What is this? Did I do something wrong? I was surprised by her sudden call, and was a bit scared.

When I went to the basement practice room, sunbae unnie was waiting alone.

"You came? What were you doing?"

"I was practicing upstairs."

"Really? Then can you sing a song for me?"

Why is she suddenly telling me to sing? I'm embarrassed to sing in front of someone who can sing so well like sunbae unnie because I lack a lot. Is she trying to pick on my singing skill and scold me?

It felt odd, but it was ordered by sunbae, and couldn't refuse to so. So I started singing the song I practiced then, called "Start" by Park Kiyoung. To be honest, I was shy and embarrassed when I sang.

'Is she trying to tease me?'

I thought of this a little.

Was the song this long? Until the song finished, sunbae unnie didn't move one bit and heard me sing attentively.

Finally, the song that felt as long as time climbing up Mount Everest, ended. Now, I was staring at sunbae unnie thinking what I should do.

"Hmm, you got a lot better. But I still don't think there is enough strength in stomach. Should I saw the sound is coming out only from the throat? I think it would be better to train using stomach more.
To have better stomach strength, you need to do a lot of exercise for abs. You can do it, right?

"Ah, she called me to give me singing lesson!"

At that moment, I was really moved!

To be honest, this was first time, that I got personal advice from sunbae trainee.

The relationship between trainees is awkward in any way. No matter he or she is sunbae, and older, they don't say much to other trainees about singing and dancing. They might be worried that others think he or she is showing off.

She did not know that fact. I was thankful because she was probably worried about that until she called me.

"Here, listen. This part, you have to sing this way."

Unnie was singing the song herself and went through the song line by line.

I still can not forget that til this day. That was the warmest and most sincere advice I've ever gotten during the time I was a trainee.

To finish off, I'd like to say hello to these ladies who I spent the most shining three years of my teenage life with.

Jessica unnie, she was the one I had longest training days as a trainee with. At first, she didn't talk much and most chic. So it was hard to approach her. I remember the time I couldn't talk to her even if I wanted to because of her cold image. So it took some time for us to become friends. But after we became friends, I found out she really care about me. I don't forget the days she corrected my singing and taught me by singing herself. She didn't talk much. But do you know that when she opens her mouth, she gets right to the point and her words seem influential? Unnie to me, to describe in one word, was like onion. More I got to know her, I saw more varieties of charm in her.

#3602171 [OTHERS] Yoona mentioned in autobiography of former SM trainee

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 22 March 2011 - 07:50 PM

Note: This former trainee's name is Jang Hajin. She could have been part of SNSD, but decided to drop out and pursue other career. She got into KAIST University in Korea last year, which is one of the best universities.

article here

"Wow, that unnie is really pretty."

I remember the time when I first saw this unnie. I had my mouth wide open. She was really really pretty.
At then, she was tall for a 13 year old, and looked like barbie doll because she had long arms and legs.
(She had a little darker skin than now, but that looked prettier to me, because it gave exotic look.)

Her head had size of a fist, and her dimple when she smiled with her shining eyes stole my heart.
(I think what people said about little girls liking pretty and handsome people was correct.) Should I say I felt good just looking at her?

Ah, It gave me feeling that nice and pretty girl is that kind of girl.
Furthermore, Yoona unnie was more genuine person as I got to know her more. She was easy-going and kind, and didn't know how to talk badly behind their back.
She also always conceded and took care of others. She laughs so well, that I never saw her fought with others or get mad for 3 years I've known her.

'Is that unnie Buddha?'

I thought of this. She was only a year older than me. She didn't have much greed and didn't want to stand out from her peers.
'Can that unnie be a celebrity like that?' Sometimes, I thought like this.
But she did everything that trainers told her to do, and had outstanding talent. She had nice personality and talent.
This is what you call perfect combination?

She was very playful and very funny. Unlike her look, she acted like a guy, impersonated comedians, and did lots of wild pranks, making herself a mood maker.
On the other hand, when she was alone, she had lots of deep thoughts. I think I liked that kind of unnie.

#3533114 [OTHERS] Kwangdong Pharmacy's first impression of SNSD

Posted by 오이사랑싴 on 01 March 2011 - 09:13 AM

I was talking to Kwangdong Pharmacy(produces Vita500) on twitter last night, and she talked about her first impression on our girls.
she wasnt totally fluent with english, and we asked her to type in korean, so we I translate.
Comments will be appreciated :)

Jessica
Posted Image

Jessica! In short interview, it was really cute to see her being shy and laugh. I think the reason she has nickname ice princess is because of her shyness, she always has two eyes opened without any facial expression. ^^

Yuri
Posted Image

personally, to tell the truth, I really love Yuri's commercial because it's full of aegyo^^ When she did aegyo like "Please visit us", I felt like I had to go buy vita500 right now.

Posted Image

Yuri is a bit tall~ light was coming out of her face when she was smiling~ I saw her right next to me, she didn't look that skinny, but she looked healthy, and looked like she had amazing personality ^^

Taeyeon

Posted Image

I was told Taeyeon's skin is just fantastic~ I saw her right in front of me, and she had no flaws like porcelain^^ And also....hmm...

Posted Image

I always saw them on TV. But when I saw them in person, I was really surprised because they were all really pretty. There are some who didnt look so well on TV....there were more who looked better in person. All the male staffs were saying they looked so pretty, and had hearts in their eyes ^^

Tiffany
Posted Image
I forgot about Tiffany^^ I remember her saying "Hi~" ^^ Of course, she had the best eye smile~ She was a woman who looked very pretty when smiling

Sooyoung
Posted Image

I saw Sooyoung first....she was really tall and skinny, so I was really jealous ㅋㅋ but she's too skinny ㅠㅠ to the point I was sorry for her. she laughed a lot like doll, and was very active. Her skinny ankle and wrist...I still can't forget

Seohyun
Posted Image

Seohyun!! She's my favorite member. She had image of really feminine and calm person, so I really thought she was great. But in real life!! a real goddess!! She had really good manners, so she was person I grew attached to.

Yoona
Posted Image

I'll write whatever I can think of ^^ Yoona~ ohohoho she's a goddess^^ really...even thought she had lots of makeup on, she had a facial structure that no one could have ^^ she was really pretty like I heard

Sunny
Posted Image

Is there only sunny left?^^ Someone told me their story about seeing Sunny ^^ Sunny is one of the members I like, she is short, but full of aegyo, and her eye smile was very appealing~ she was really good at acting too

Hyoyeon
Posted Image

Hyoyeon! I think she has the smallest face^^ and I think she's the least tv-genic. she was really pretty and skinny when i saw her~^^

Posted Image

Can I ask you for an announcement?^^ SNSD is currently model for only Korea, so it's undecided whether vita500 with their faces will be imported outside Korea. If iit's decided, I'll tell you right away. It's not something I can decide^^* I request you~

Posted Image

short notice ^^ in mid-march, new vita500 homepage will be opened~ at that time, there will be short snsd clips for each girls~(a little short^^) It's not much, but please look again ^^

tbh, i think she became a Sone :P
