Even without translations, it wasn't too hard to tell that this song has some pretty interesting lyrics. Even with the translations, I'm not going to pretend I'm smart enough to understand them, but the symbolism and wordplay definitely makes them worth reading through a few times. For example, it seems strange to me to put on a mask to be your true self, but perhaps you'll only dance like you really would if no one knew it was you. Or if the butterfly refers to life outside the club, maybe it's putting on the mask to erase the butterfly that everyone is pretending to be to let you once again be the spider. In a sense, putting on one mask takes off another. The use of 'adabana' is also very cool, sort of serving as a word that represents the song. Flowers only bloom for a little while, the club scene only lasts as long as the music's on, the mask is temporary... love made in that setting would be fake then. ... A probably incorrect interpretation, since, like everything else symbolic, this goes way over my head haha.

This is pretty amazing and touching. I think just about every SONE can relate, that being a part of this fandom is something you never regret. Even if they don't know us, they know "us", and they appreciate us even more than we appreciate them. What will be left at the end? Memories, experiences... happiness that you wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. I think that's worth the time and the money that we put in, when we get so much out of it. Even when they no longer make albums and promote together, those will last us forever. Forever, it's a Girls' Generation.

Sunny's answers are always especially fun to read. I guess she's ok with the name Soonkyu now? Hahaha she used to always cringe a little whenever anyone says it, but now maybe not. I still remember when she caught that fish when ice fishing in Invincible Youth, that was epic. And I would also like the proof of the guy doing a handstand while wearing a Pororo outfit and dancing to Run Devil Run. He better follow through! LOL while Tiffany says she would save the SONE instead of Totoro, while Sunny said she would save Jo Insung while falling with the SONE... I like that. The last two of hers are pretty great too. With the whole issue of them dating coming up again, it's nice that she's saying they love SONEs more than anyone else. Even so, if we really love them, we should be happy that they're happy with whoever they're with right? I hope that one day they all find that someone, if they haven't already. Speaking of which... DANDYUSSS.

I guess Tiffany must have been bored not getting to record Running Man.. it's not that often we see her do UFOs lol. Awww she didn't know the word "deduce" in Korean hahaha, I don't know why but her reply for that was adorable. Hm if Sooyoung and Tiffany ate a whole pizza, I wonder how much of it each of them ate... "Just kidding! HIEEEEEEEEEEE" ROFL OMG THAT'S SO CUTE. And hmmm Sooyoung and Tiffany both want to be Running Man too. Hopefully soon! Then all nine members will have been on the show, and we get to see some of Sooyoung's epic running style. Someone asked her what she was watching so late... lol omg it's never gonna go away. "Chicken chicken pizza yayaya".. I can't wait to hear how the English version of "The Boys" sounds like hahaha. I actually went to look up the lyrics of Ooh La La after reading the last one... and yeah it's a little embarassing lol.

News will probably come out soon about the event that Taiwan SONEs prepared for the concert tonight, and I think it's worth writing a fan account for, because it seems like it took them a lot of work to prepare haha. I won't write much on the other stuff, since I most people will prefer fancams and images for that. Also I'm on a bit of a high cause of the concert, so this may sound like word diarrhea. Here we go!

When lining up for the concert, members of one of them fanclubs in Taiwan passed out three things to everyone attending the concert: a paper saying "Welcome back, We Miss You So Much" a la the concert in Korea, a sticker saying "Pray For SooYoung" and a card with (I'm guessing) instructions on what to do during certain songs or parts of the concert.





Unfortunately, I can read Chinese characters as well as I can read Korean (not at all) so I was a little confused. It doesn't take much to realize that when in Rome raise the paper when everyone else raises the paper, but I couldn't tell what to do with the other parts until I saw someone point to their palm with the sticker.

It seemed like the events started with "Complete", unless I missed something happening before that. Similar to the concert in Korea, everyone raised the paper by the end of the song until when looking around the arena, you could see the white papers being held up everywhere. At the same time, people on the second floor turned on green lights which spelled out "소녀시대9". A few of the girls did tear up, I think Sunny in particular.

From what I could tell, the next thing happened after "Forever", when the girls left to prepare for the encore stage. Instead of chanting "encore", the whole crowd instead chanted "let's go soshi, let's go" for several minutes until we heard the introduction to Into The New World start playing. They definitely seemed to notice, cause Tiffany repeated the chant during the talk after finishing with Into The New World.

After "It's Fantastic" there seemed to be some attempt to get a crowd wide chant going of something with "So Nyeo Shi Dae", "Saranghae", and "Sooyoung" but it kinda failed since some of the girls started talking and saying their farewells. Looking around at the audience you could kind of see people thinking "**** what do we do?". At the very end though, before leaving the stage, one of the girls called the whole group back, and I think it was Tiffany (I can't remember, hopefully someone got that on fancam...) who pointed to her palm and said something about Sooyoung. With that the planned events seemed to be successful, and the concert ended. I hope someone gave them a sticker to take to Sooyoung ^^.

Here's just some random things about the concert as I remember them, not really relating to what was planned by the Taiwan SONEs:

The filler videos in the concerts are some of the greatest things you'll ever watch. I guess I didn't see all the fancams from the Japan Tour or the Korea concert, but seeing some for the first time is amazing. The "Smile!" one where Jessica's toasting some bread is too sweet for words, the opening video gets you excited like nothing else, the one where they're infiltrating some kind of building with guards and guard dogs is too cool, Black Swan was ridiculously hot, Key one is hilarious, and the video that played before and along with Danny Boy was really touching.

During all of the filler videos, Sooyoung always got the loudest cheers, without a doubt.

If you remember the outfit Sunny wore during her solo at the second Seoul concert that got people going crazy, well....... she wore it again. Sunshiners, prepare yourselves.

It's pretty funny listening to people try to sing along with some of the Japan album songs that the girls ended up singing in Korean. Through the hook it's nice and loud in the crowd, but then it dies off quickly hahaha.

Someone on the concert planning team was also the one who did the Japan album teasers. Half the night, the largest screen in the back of the arena was playing some weird crap that reminded me exactly of the Japan album teasers. Random things flying out, weird colors, and nothing to do with the actual performance. The other half of the time it was just a shot of the girls... why not do that the whole time? Weird...

The girls tried their best to speak some Mandarin (I think it was Mandarin......) during the introduction section. Perfect maknae was just about perfect as always, but the rest seemed to be have some trouble based on the laughing in the audience. Yuri and Jessica are pretty hilarious. It was too cute for words.

Some solo stage stuff! Skip this if you've seen photos and fancams from the Japan tour and Seoul concert, there's nothing new, just ramblings from me haha. Yuri's "If" is so hot it should be illegal. Seriously, that Ministry of Gender whatever is going to rate any DVD with that performance as 19+. No worries though, at the rate SM goes, if you're not 19 yet you will be by the time they release the DVD. I spent all of Yoona's "4 Minutes" telling myself "don't blink, don't blink, don't blink" cause if you blink, you're gonna miss it. You know what I'm talking about. Well, I didn't blink, I didn't miss it, and man it really is like magic. Jessica's "Almost" is amazing. Her dress... is something else. Seeing Taeyeon and Tiffany perform "Lady Marmalade" is probably the height of the TaeNy shipping part of my life, and Taeyeon's "Run Devil Run" intro is jaw dropping. Sunny's "Three" sounded really good, and she actually seemed to do what Yuri does in her solo....... just wait for the fancam. Hyoyeon had an amazing solo, I'm glad that this time she decided to take on singing this time, as opposed to the First Asia Tour. Seohyun..... ahh god I love the maknae and how she thinks. "All my unnies are going sex goddess, I think I'm gonna tap dance." And of course, perfect Maknae does her singing and tap dancing perfectly. No "Sway" by Sooyoung, but, well, there's a video she made that'll make up for it.

Last part! One of my favorite parts of the night was the Into The New World performance. I can never get tired of that song and it gives me chills when I see fancams of it at their concerts. Seeing it in person, with 10,000 other people singing along to the all the lyrics.... that was something else.

Really, I hope everyone reading this, every fan, every SONE, one day gets to be a part of the pink ocean at one of their concerts if they haven’t already. To be at a concert where you don't have to wonder if they're next, to be one of those screaming fans, to be one of those people swinging a pink light stick, there's nothing like it. If the chance comes, take it! You won't regret it.

Also, I'm pretty sure I was the only one wearing Soshified shirt lol. Represent, yo.

Hahaha the UFOs this time are like SONEs vs the peas and Rilakkuma... some threatened to put the peas in pizza, make it into soy milk, put it into bean noodles... meanwhile a few questions to Yoona are about fans vs. Rilakkuma. SNSD, making SONEs jealous of inanimate objects since 2007. Oh if only to be the floor they walk on, the some strange plushie, some pole.. LOL it never ends.

What the, Taeyeon didn't even know the concert DVD was out... this is like when Jessica hadn't even seen the Japan album yet hahaha. For their next anniversary, we should just send them their own merchandise, cause they might not actually have it. And wow, Taeyeon really can't stand that aegyo... how does she manage to live with Sunny then, when she's not hesitant at all to recommend punching them LOL.

Yoona knows how to dodge people's lame attempts really well lol. "I'll just introduce you to someone nice." And omg Jessica's bad with computers.. this may explain why she hasn't been on Soshified in forever LOL. Maybe one day she'll get a little tech smarter. Noooooo why would someone call Taeyeon a dry-hearted girl?!?! AhjummaTaeng who never bothers going out and stays home with her peas could never be a dry-hearted girl, grr. Hey I guess we know what she's eating at home: cheetos and McCol. And LOL Taeyeon doesn't like peaches... when Yoona answered her UFO by saying that Taeyeon is eating peaches. Alrighty then...

Taeyeon liked Sucker Punch... and doesn't like romance movies... what the heck? This is the leader of GIRLS' Generation folks. HAHA.

Taeyeon's answers are really out there LOL. She describes herself as cosmos, she says she thought it was good to be in Girls' Generation when she washes her face in the morning (maybe this means right from the start of the day, all day, she's glad to be a part of it?), and she was happy recently because she was able to watch a movie in her room by herself.

I really hope that Yoona's reply of "watch AAGG for now.." doesn't mean that the concert DVD is gonna take a lot longer to come out, cause really, it's been so long already! The second tour is starting, at least let me watch the first tour on DVD T____________T.

Uhh.. wow. Blew my mind right there, that's pretty thought provoking. Would you really want to live forever a satisfying life with no problems? Those with worries and struggles may say yes at first, but when everything is easy and you never have to work for anything... maybe it's not so obvious a choice, cause what kind of life is that? Well, anyways. People need to see stuff like this before they call these girls "mindless idols" or something, cause it's pretty obvious they're anything but.

Of course, there's some fun ones too haha. I liked the one about being happy and making mistakes, it's very true. Plus, I don't think anyone really cares if they make a mistake in their choreography, the fans in Paris sure didn't mind. It's nice that she was so happy that she messed up a few of the steps. Thank you for the translation of this chapter! Ahhh Sunny, she may be short but she'll always be a giant in my eyes. The girl's a hero, a chicken catcher, a snake wrangler, she's got aegyo that can melt anyone, she can sing, she can dance... what more does this girl need? And honestly, I believe Sunny is her height for a reason: were she around Seohyun's height, it'd just be unfair. She'd be too perfect. Sun-Shiners know what I'm talking about. Hahaha I love the bit about revealing her "real" height. I think every fan knew that Sunny was the shortest, but we love her for it. Honestly, there's no way Sunny was placed into SNSD because of "special treatment". She made it there on her own, and anyone who doesn't think so hasn't seen enough of Sunny to realize that she deserves to be a part of Girls' Generation, just as much as any of the other eight girls do. Not only this, but SNSD would not be SNSD without Sunny, just like it wouldn't be SNSD without any one of the other members. Where would the girls be without their energizer?

LOL I remember the talk on Strong Heart about their escape to the amusement park, that was hilarious. "At least put on some makeup!" I also remember when it was mentioned that Sunny always does what she can to bring the camera to her. I think it's in the Come to Play episode during 2009 that Sunny reveals what she does to bring the camera to her during either Him Nae or Gee, but either way it's so funny. She really knows how to work the camera.

I think "Soon Kyu" is a really, really pretty name. It's probably because I'm not Korean but... I don't know, like "Miyoung", both names just sound amazingly pretty.

Another great bit from the book, thank you for the translation! Your translation is really smooth, it makes it really easy to read and follow along with what's happening. I thought it was funny that the first thing mentioned was Yoona's popularity with guys.. it seems like the every growing list of guys to call Yoona their ideal type convinced the authors of this that that aspect of her should go first. I'm surprised they didn't also mention Leeteuk though, who apparently keeps saying she should marry him later, lol. They also didn't mention her position as the second shikshin of the group, and how she consumes massive amounts of food but doesn't seem to gain any weight. They DID bring up Him Yoona though, hahaha. I always thought that the origin of that came from the episode of Girls Go To School where she was seen on camera moving all of their boxes by herself without a problem, and so the netizens dubbed her as the strong one.

It's kind of interesting that the authors would make a judgment call on the most popular member of the group. I've always believed that with SNSD, being the most popular is seasonal, and just comes and goes to the point where you can't really call one member the "most popular". During one era it might be one member, during another era it might be another. When You Are My Destiny was airing, I think Yoona was definitely very popular (especially among grandmothers watching the drama who knew her as Saebyuk more than Yoona ) but all the way til now too...? Well, their call haha.

Her "complexes" are very interesting, it seems like no matter how much everyone might think her appearance is just perfect, she still has complaints about herself. I never noticed the barefoot thing, but now that I think about it... hm, maybe I'll go rewatch Hello Baby and see.

Ehhh, weak at singing... well, she can still outsing, outdance, and outact the huge majority of people who say that she's "weak at singing", so it's ok. Fans know the truth. When you're in a group that contains Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, and really all of the girls, it's hard to be considered "strong at singing" anyways, just as it's hard to be considered "strong at acting" or "beautiful" when you're in a group with Yoona.

Ahahaha oh man, they mention her alligator laugh and contrast it to her lady-like appearance. I can't wait to see what they bring up about Taeyeon's ahjumma laughter, that's even more extreme.
