Really? Because everyone here where I am (no I don't live in the backwaters of a cornfield in the middle of nowhere) all still say we need the SAT for UCs, and my friends and I are going crazy over if we should take them! ^^ the subject tests are nice if they're math, but I didn't do too well on the physics... only got a 760 T^T

LOL! Yes! Grammar fail people unite! Our "it sounds right" technique never fails! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is the most epic thing I've ever heard! You and your teacher = WIN. In my AP english class this year I've been using my friend who's like a grammar nazi to edit my papers for grammatical errors. I think she's single handedly saving my grade.

I didnt even think of applying for grant or scholarship since im an asian kid and i have to take a burden of $50k+ every year. You are lucky, thou. You have better chance of going to any college you want :D I hope you dont let that prestige wasted. Btw, you said you're a huge fail grammar, so i think you're really good at math and science right

I thought all UCs accept ACT?? They never said they only accept SATs either. You still have to do 2 SAT subject tests but i think it's a good and fair selection, thou. International students can get higher chance since they can show them their talent at math and sciences, instead of just worrying about their limited english < i was one of them :P >

LOL, that's exactly what i did to survive. Once my english teacher asked me to write a story and i ask him " which tense should i use? Present, past??" and he was like wth, you've been in ap english for like 2 years and you have to ask me that stupid question? LOL, he got so mad and he literally gave me a B just for that. That was hilarious.

HAHAHA Can I tell you a secret? I'm actually a HUGE fail at grammar. If you tell me to identify an infinite clause particle, I'm going to go, "HUH?"

I mean, I'd LOVE to go to USC, UCSD, UCLA, Berkeley, Standford, etc, but they don't take ACTs still (which is such a pain since I got a very nice score lol) and that means I need to do the SATs
It's a little bit of both for the 'big school' thing. Asian parents want it for the pride and stuff, but I also want it 'cause I'm actually really competitive and it helps for the job later

Hmm, well, I don't think money will really be the issue for me (of course I will still apply for grants and scholarships), it'll most likely be the acceptance part haha.

Btw, do your parents want you to go to "big" school or it's just you ;) I know it's weird asking this question but i hope it's your OWN idea of going to big school. It's prestigious yet tiring at the same time. I sometimes wish that i shouldnt apply to big schools :(
