Oh yeah. Sure. Haha ^^;..
As a part-time I guess.
lol I never root for the US team either.. I usually root for Korea, because that's where I'm from. But I also root for Japan if my favorite kenshi is competing.

^^" I don't know much about USA(since I never rooted for them, pretty much), but, I do know that you can still become a certified instructer after 4th dan, right? That's what I meant when I asked if you were to make a living off of it. :)

people do it as a hobby.. Most people in Team USA have a job and practice Kendo couple times a day; yet, they still bring 2nd/3rd place in World Championship.

What I meant was, I could've been a senshu in Korea, but my parents stopped it. Even my senseis in Korea told me not to become one unless I have no other talents. Kendo is not as popular as you think even in Korea and Japan. Only the top Kendoists in Japan can make a lot of money. The difference between Korea/Japan and the US is Kendo is basically a job in Korea/Japan, but in the US, peopl

'Nuff said. :)
Kendo's not a very well-known sport in the U.S., but you can make it as one of the higher-ups in the AUSKF if you really tried. I don't think it's too late for you, at all. If you're around my age, you're just at the right spot. It's great that you're ikkyu, 'cause you can't make it to sho-dan until you're like...fourteen/fifteen any

Neh, you can't really make a living off of Kendo in the United States.. Also, it's too late for me to become a senshu in South Korea. I didn't really have a choice 'cause of my parents..
I'm just going to do Kendo as a hobby.. But I'm hoping to join Torrance Kendo Dojo one day and compete in WKC.. This dojo
(Torrance) is in like a two-year waiting list 'c

Whaa~ You're goals are big...Even at 1st-dan, 3rd-dan's quite a while to go...it's too bad you can't... >_<
Do you plan on making a living off of kendo? :3

Congratulation! It's been a while since I took the exam. Unfortunately, I can't take one until I join AUSKF.. T_T
I want to get at least up to 3rd dan so I can have a chance to keiko with All Japan Kendo Champions. Shodai is coming to Cali this month to practice with AUSKF members.. Only 3rd dan and above (AUSKF members) can keiko with him.. T_T

Actually, no...You're really lucky to be going to such things. I'm an East sider, I can't attend California's competitions! Haha~
What's your ranking/grade?

Yes, I competed in few tournaments back in South Korea. I'm not allowed to compete here in the states b/c I don't have AUSKF membership. Right now, I can only afford enough money to practice at a dojo.. T_T
I heard there is a competition this month in Southern Cali. I'm thinking about watching. Are you attending any competition this month?

Aha~ That's true. Not many girls around here do kendo, either. There's only three of us, including this little girl. ^^"
Do you attend any competitions?

Man, I wish there were girl kendokas at my dojo.. It's no fun doing Kendo where I live. *sigh These are the three best places to practice Kendo: Korea, Japan, and LA.
