Lol well I might take a Chinese class in high school but it depends on if I actually get into that high school.
Mmmm well I think the only reason Cantonese is difficult is because it doesnt have pinyin.
I can read some, like super simple ones or words like favorite, I love you, family member titles, somewhere along the lines of that. I can write simple ones too.

cantonese is difficult ): i can't speak canto ): i think all dialects are difficult :O you gave up learning chinese? i think you should try learning it again! it's actually quite cool to learn another language! :) so can you read Chinese characters?

mandarin. that is standard chinese.. cantonese, hokkien, teochew are dialects.. but they come from the basic form which is mandarin..
