If it's torrent, you need something like Bit Torrent to download it. You get it bit by bit and then it's compiled. The pros of it is that it can be continued any time if ever your download requires a lot of time.
If it's the direct download, you get the whole thing automatically without having to extract it, unlike the torrent download. Depending on where you download it though...
