After watching the Music Core stream last night, it was obvious that the girls have outgrown K-Pop. In terms of musical complexity, vocalization, sophistication, and showmanship, they were on a different level than any other girl group on Music Core last night. Frankly there was no comparison. Granted a couple of the Boy groups were on their level, but the girl groups, ugh. I am not familiar with the entire world of K-Pop, but if what was presented on Music Core is representative of what Korean fans like in their female entertainers, then it is understandable why the Girls sometimes struggle in their own country. They have progressed far beyond the banal, simplistic songs, and ‘pose & pout’ choreography that was the hallmark of every other girl group I saw.
