The United States Fund for UNICEF is helping children and their families in the Philippines receive shelter, clean water, nutrition, and vaccines. UNICEF’s emergency response can be supported online or by calling 1-800-367-5437. You can donate directly to UNICEF in the Philippines, under Soshified’s “#WishesForPH” project on Crowdrise (only credit cards accepted). Soshified is also accepting donations for the Philippines on Paypal. A webpage for Soshified’s “WishesForPH” project can be found at wish.soshified.com.
A tropical country made up of more than 7,100 volcanic islands, the Philippines is hit by an average of 19 typhoons a year. In addition, it is vulnerable to earthquakes, tsunamis, flooding, and landslides. Ongoing conflict in some areas also puts children’s lives at risk.
Super Typhoon Haiyan, also known as “Yolanda”, hit the Philippines with wind speeds up to 235 mph. Before any cyclone is dubbed Category 5, it must have at least 156 mph wind speeds.
Haiyan has far exceeded that minimum requirement.
The super typhoon followed on the heels of a 7.2 earthquake that devastated the Philippines a few weeks before, leaving more than 195 dead, over 50,000 homes destroyed, and 350,000 displaced. Now, two days after Haiyan first landed, more than 10,000 have been killed and over 600,000 have been displaced.
Google Person Finder has launched a page to help find missing persons in the aftermath of the storm. Google Crisis Map is also providing additional evacuation and relief information. Sharing these sites as well will further aid the victims of this latest super typhoon.
Imagine if all of your friends donated just one bottle of water each. How many friends do you have on Facebook — and how many bottles of water would you get if every single one of them made a donation?
Join Soshified in sending aid to the Philippines, a country that would surely do the same for any other nation if the tables were turned. Besides making a donation, you can help Soshified trend #WishesForPH on Twitter to spread the word about the Philippines’ predicament and support global relief efforts. As “SONE” means “wish” in Korean, the project name and hashtag represent the generosity and efforts of SONEs for the Philippines.
With the holiday season just around the corner, the season of giving is upon us — help Soshified show the Philippines how much we care.

This made me cry.. T_T
Thank you for helping us! I was there and I have experienced the wrath of that typhoon.. It was really scary and heartbreaking. I could barely recognize the place where I grew up. It was really painful to see people begging for food just to survive. I’m really glad that there are people who extended their help so that we’ll be able to recover. Thank you Soshified! May God bless you all as well as your families.. :)
Thank you soshified for the help. I am also form the Philippines, Cebu specifically. This would really be a great help to my fellow Filipinos who’ve experienced the tragedy (even though I too have experienced the earthquake). Thank you Sones and more power! God bless.
As someone living in a country with no natural disaster, I think a lot of us is unable to understand how terrifying a Hurricane is like, or a 7.2 Richter scale earthquake..
I really hope the Aid that many charity organization and countries pledge, can really reach those in need.. since sometimes, the money donated can be caught up in a lot of logistics “issues” and end up not reaching those in need.. or the rice and clothing could be sitting there at some airport or warehouse, without the transportation and manpower needed to pass them on to those in need..
Hopefully those who lost their homes, will be able to rebuild their homes asap with the help with all the world..and slowly back to their lives again..
I was one of the sones who suffers this tragedy a very strong earthquake wakes me up on october 15 ,2013 it was really traumatizing to my part that comes to the point that I want to sleep again to my room and I also experience a very strong typhoon in my 19 years of existence im still fortunate that our place are not that badly damage thanks to God. How I wish GG can give their message to us sones in philippines :(
I live in the capital city, very far from the region that got hit by the typhoon. It’s really heartbreaking to see my fellow Filipinos go through so much pain and suffering… :(
I pray that they’ll be able to recover and build their lives again through all the help that you guys and the other countries have been giving… From the bottom of hearts, thank you!!! Thank you so much SONEs for sharing what you have… ❤️ The girls are proud!
Thank you so much. A lot of my family members live in the Philippines and I am so grateful and proud of this fandom. Godbless! Thank you so much!
Thank you Soshified, thank you Sone, and above all thank you Girls’ Generation.
I’m very thankful that my friend introduce me to KPoP and the girls, their such an ANGELS.
Kasamhamnida!!! :”)
speechless….Thank you for helping us! im so proud on this fandom which I belong. Thank you again for helping my countrymen.
I agree to you. I really wish GG can give their messages to us.
Words cannot describe how grateful I am.
I’m a local of Tacloban, Leyte, one of the most badly hit. We were finally able to leave yesterday because our food and water were running out. Right now, I’m in a neighboring island, and I finally got internet and signal.
When I saw that Soshified had done this, I am so grateful.
Until now, I’m still not sure if all my classmates and friends were able to make it (HOPEFULLY THEY ALL DO)
I’ve been so worried and sad. Never have I wanted to go to school again.. It was just days before 2nd sem of nursing school would start.
Plus, the looters and NPA rebels are making things worse there. When we were still there, we couldnt get enough sleep because we were too afraid someone might break in, especially with our gates broken.
To all those who are helping and sending their love:
The level of despair and grief would really leave you speechless. The intensity of the situation there is so bad because this is honestly the first time Tacloban, and Leyte in general, had experienced such a very strong typhoon because usually, we don’t get storms like this.
All your help in any way will surely bring back my hometown to its once glory. I’m not only saying this for myself but for all the other Leytenos and Taclobanons. Me, my friends, and families, have all been separated to go to safety and it really leaves us heartbroken to just leave.
Thank you again Soshified. Never would I have thought that we would be the ones to have been a recipient of the love and care you represent with Soshi. I knew I have joined the right fandom.
Thank you thank you so very much! and Please keep on praying for us too ;______________;
stay strong yo. God be with you and all the peeps of PH
I didn’t send much but I will pray for you and the people who are suffering from this typhoon.
I pray for your safety and all the people in Philippines. Fighting!

As a Filipino,I really really can’t express the gratitude that’s pouring in my heart.

Let’s pray for the safety of my 2 PH sone friends and their families
they lived in Leyte the place that are greatly damaged by this super typhoon. Till now we don’t have communication. I really hope that they are safe and secured. :(((
I love you sone fandom and snsd~! Hwaiting. Pray for the Philippines. Thanks you very much~! *crying*
Omo, As a SONEph I was really touched with this fandom. :) Philippines will get better. Thanks Soshified, SONE, Girls’ Generation.
I have experienced the war first hand, it happened just in our neighboring barangay. But the earthquake and typhoon, the war with the rebels is nothing. When I watched the aftermath of the typhoon, with a new one forming and again threatening, tears just started falling.
Right now, as i’m typing this, i’m touched and teary. As a PH Sone, i’m really proud of this fandom. Despite what others say about us, we will continue to uphold what our Girls are teaching us.
Thank you Soshified, thank you Sone, and above all thank you Girls’ Generation.
