Disappointing? This is far from disappointing. To my opinion, this is one of SNSD’s best songs. Its just amazing that I can’t even describe it
As expected, our girls have worked extremely hard for this! Let’s support them and buy the album! 소녀시대 화이팅! 지금 은 소녀시대!
im quite confused with the arrangement of the music at first. but it’s addictive.
then i stumble upon an eng subs mv of IGAB.
goodness, this song is genius!!
This entire song gets stuck in my head so easily! I am so glad that I got a boy lived up to my expectations!
I was a little worried that maybe it would be good but not up to what I was hoping for.
But this…this is the best comeback that I have ever been a part of!
I am so happy to be a part of Soshified!
Looking forward to getting my “I got boy” album!
SPAZZ!
Such a great song that really appeals to non-kpop people. Showed it to a friend who loves music but isn’t a fan of kpop and he loved it.
I think this is song pure genius. Though many are saying that the music is a disappointment or confusing, i would like to think differently. This song isnt meant to be a song to move your heart or bring you to tears. Its a song that is meant to be performed to the fullest. The areas which is lacks it more than made up by the rest of the album which in my opinion is one of the best to date.Rather then being musically moving, its a song that is meant to be performed to perfection, which our girls have successfully done! They dominated this song in all its aspects by performing it like no other. Which is why i believe that so many prefer the live version over the studio as the girls are top performers and bring the song to life. Lets not view from just the musical point but from the fact that this song brings us sones a flawless performance and fierce presence our girls are known for! Fighting!
all right SNSD! “We’re still on T.O.P girls!” <– very true :P
oh yes, Happy New Year 2013 to Soshified Staff and fellow SONE's here!!! :)
anticipating IGAB album, going to get it eitehr today or tmr ^__^
I have a good feeling for this album… lets support our angles and conquer all award for 2013…
sones FIGHTING!!
The “I Got a Boy” MV has stunning visuals, love the girls and their moves. The music is a disappointment. First time for me that I haven’t instantly liked one of their MVs, which says something. Been reading other similar comments all over the internet. You can’t have our smiling, beautiful, cheerful girls dancing to that. It doesn’t work.
@noltan
thx for explain to us
when i first heard it,i didn’t really like the song
but after read ur explaination, now i know the meaning behind the song
Thanks~

I don’t if any of the Soshified staff is seeing this but I just wanted to say Thank You so much for your dedication and devotion to this site and SNSD. It’s amazing what 9 girls can do to many but it is incredibly amazing what fans can do to show they’re love for them. It is not through a music video that I adored them but through those that showed them to me. It’s not the variety shows that made me love them even more but the effort of someone translating the whole series. And it’s not them who are the good examples of my life but it’s the fans that sacrifice sleep and other activities just to keep those overseas fans and some lazy fans updated. There is no doubt and I’m proud to say that I love the SONEs as much as I love SNSD because without each other there’d be none of you. You guys are the reason I smile every. single. day. :) Happy new year SONEs, Soshified’s awesome staff, stalker fans (lol), and those who are just beginning the journey:)
Aww this is really sweet! I’ll make sure the staff reads this :) Thank you for supporting us! Your comments and likes always helps the staff move forward :)
addictive but the song that have weird sync for the mix.. but overall the MV is very cool… (y) <3
really IGAB is the most addictive song that have weird sync.. I mean Gee have the well-sync-song and being addictive. IGAB have hiphop style that not-well-sync-song but once you put ur earphone on then LISTENING to this you’ll being IGAB addict, then u want to watching the MV to understand the concept, then you’ll give the Girls 4 thumbs up cause the awesomeness of this song. Just WONDERFUL! GG Jjang! SONEs Jjang!

Yep. As expected, it was a huge success. I didn’t like it, but I knew it would be a hit. I still liked some other of the songs in the album tho.
I really miss the “Dance” times. Those were the songs that made me the most happy. I’m not really into the hip-hopish style they had with The Boys, nor this one. Guess we’re all different.
I think I commented already, but good job on the all-kill!
And Camila was also trending. Love them! xD
Happy New Year!
we all spent countless hours anticipating
what the comeback was going to be like…
and now it has happened…and it was anything
beyond our wildest dreams!!! regardless of
the circumstance, have you ever seen a chart
that looked like that for any reason? maybe
a typo on the data entered would cause that
to happen…but for enthusiasm to literally
break a chart is a true indication of the love
and enthusiasm we have for our girls and all
that they’ve done for us!
I admit I was skeptical about it at first, but it really is addictive. No wonder it reached an all-kill, that’s the power of 9
Currently on iChart :
#1 Dancing Queen
#7 I Got A Boy
#17 Baby Maybe
#23 말해봐 (Talk Talk)
#24 Express 999
I knew that it was going to be a huge success for the girls. The instant all kill shows why Girls’ Generation is still on top. I’m very glad that the album got an all kill just a hour after it’s release because of course, it’s Girls’ Generation. The girls have came back very strong this time around and they’re aren’t even kidding around. This is an amazing way to kick off the new year and it’s also a very amazing way for the girls to kick off what it will be the best year of their lives. Us SONEs shall help the girls win some awards on music shows and make the biggest names in K-Pop suffer in defeat.
GIRLS’ GENERATION FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fell srry for the others that made a comeback/debut around these times, our girls pretty much have blown them away :)
I am with you on this one. I feel sympathy for those who are about to make a comeback or debut this month. But, I ain’t worried about them because Girls’ Generation absolutely blew the fierce competition right out of the water. Girls’ Generation absolutely, positively has came back strong
I’VE REPEATED THE SONG LIKE 4 TIMES AND NOW IM HOOKED.
THIS IS GUNNA BE MY JAM FOR THE WHOLE YEAR
SOSHI JJANG<3
It’s not what I expected in a good way! :) (You have to let the song grow on you after a few listens.) I’m not dissappointed at all…I’m happy! I’m glad the song got an all kill in Korea already…only the power of 9! The music video is fire…best choreography I’ve seen from the girls! GO GG!!! <333
its like 9 different songs got mixed together
0:00 – 0:30 = FIRST SONG.
0:30 – 0:53 = SECOND SONG.
0:53 – 2:05 = THIRD SONG.
2:05 – 2:53 = FOURTH SONG.
2:53 – 3:07 = FIFTH SONG.
3:07 – 3:41 = SIXTH SONG.
3:41 – 4:03 = SEVENTH SONG.
4:03 – 4:18 = EIGTH SONG.
4:18 – 4:32 = NINTH SONG.
to a fans this might not be a problem, but to none fans who only care about music, they will think this a weird song, and i seriously doubt that this song could give more international exposure to our girls, this wouldn’t bring more fans…. AND I WANT THE WHOLE WORLD TO WORSHIP THEM, this song sadly is bellow my expectation, and if our girls want to venture globally then this totally not the right songs, only fans that loved this song others is highly doubtful
This is why many international fans will never experience the true beauty behind kpop. The main reason being the language barrier. The song is a conversation between the girls about a boy. That is why the song goes back and forth, you have to follow the flow of the music and lyrics. For those making fun of the song having 9 parts is overlooking that all the girls are participating in the conversation. Some use rap to express their opinions and others used other genres. It’s a shame so many can’t appreciate this powerful and flawless single from the girls. To be completely honest with you all, this is by far one of the best songs from SNSD. It’s so fierce and daring.
Noltan, You are so right. If you really listen to song carefully you can really appreciate the true beauty, the true essence of the song. :)
I don’t know man… the live performance on Romantic Fantasy totally blew me away. I also did not like the song when I first heard it but performed live, it’s amazing. I think that’s one of the huge reasons why K-pop is so unique anyway… the live performances.
@NOLTAN- that makes so much sense! Now I understand why they said it was about girl talk. I really want the lyrics so I can understand.
As an elder (48) Sone, I was none to thrilled with IGAB after the first listen (too old for all this hip-hop garbage). But seeing their live performance turned me completely around. I agree with Noltan that the song is genius and their dancing is really moved up a notch. It seens that many fans of GG attemtp to put them in a box and expect their music to always sound the same. This is just not the case with our girls. They are too talented to be stuck with one sound or one genre of music. I remeber hearing the rumblings about the rapping on “The Boys” last year…they would say “GG does not rap..I don’t like it.” I heard more rumblings about some of their Japanese releases this year.
SM is faced with something they have never had before; a Korean idol group that is bigger than Korea…bigger than Asia….SM has an idol group that truely belongs to the whole world. They have always catered their music to their target audience. That is why their Japanese albums sound different than their Korean albums. IGAB is a Korean release and is targeted to their Korean audience. We westerners are on the outside looking in.
Living here in America, I have found K-pop and especially GG to have been an answer to my musical prayers. We have nothing like K-pop here. There are no trained and talented artist. There are no fantastic voices who can really dance, there are no groups with unbelievable choerography and there is no style or over the top videos to watch here….that you GG and thank you K-pop.
so get the song
1st part – Rap (Soo, Yul) ,Ohohoh,Sing (Tae,Sun,Seo,Jess),Ohohoh, IGAB (Tae, Sun) – 2nd part Rap(HyoYoona),Ohohoh,Sing(Seo,Tiff),Ohohoh, 3rd – Bridge(Tiff,Tae), 4th, IGAB (Jess,Seo) for 2nd part( Same as 1:40 in MP3 as Jess said) and last IGAB, totally creative
if you only count when the song start, the 1:40 part would be identical to the part after Jess saidback to 1:40 only in the first part are Tiff, Hyo, Yul,… 2nd part Tae, Yoong,.. after all only opposite angle, so cool
