Gallup Korea recently released the results of its annual year-end polls. In the poll on which artist voters thought made 2012 shine, Girls’ Generation took second place, receiving 19.8% of the vote. PSY placed first with 24.4%, and BIG BANG came in third with 9.5%. The voter pool consisted of 4,157 individuals, ages 13 to 59 years old.
Girls’ Generation was most popular with the 20’s age bracket, garnering 26.6% of the vote. Girls’ Generation – TTS’s hit song, “Twinkle”, was the fourth best song, earning 1.9% of the vote. “Gangnam Style” by PSY came in first, followed by SISTAR’s “Alone” and “Cherry Blossom Ending” by Busker Busker.
Last year, the girls managed to rank first in several of the Gallup Korea polls. Considering that Girls’ Generation had no Korean promotions this year aside from Girls’ Generation – TTS, the results of the 2012 polls show that the girls’ popularity is still high.

Couldn’t agree more with the conclusion made by the author. In 2013, I think the girls will be back on the top again. Hihi.. Hope for the best for SNSD..
the name says it all…..
GIRLS’ GENERATION
no more questions ask… just wait till they conquer the world!
SNSD fighting!
SNSD DAEBAK!
Again with PSY
why they only number 2 they should be at 1st
no choice… gangnam style is really astronomically popular…
it should be number one >.<
nice
These results are very as expected. I am glad to see that even without promotions they have managed to maintain a foothold in South Korea. It bodes well for when they are abroad promoting elsewhere.
you’re still my number one in my heart girls.
i dont care anybody than you.
but congratz for psy.
Congrats to our angels…only the Power Of 9!!! Even though they did the sub-unit thing earlier this year, they managed to still come in second. :) PSY was everywhere this year, so I’m not surprised that he took first place. Next year GG will be number one once again on T.O.P. where they belong!
two things…one i needed help realizing…
it’s early in the morning…the girls finished
strongest with the age group they are most
dependent on for their success…so that
only bodes well for the future…secondly…
as the article pointed out…they had no
korean activity this year as a group and still
only came in second to a once in a lifetime
type song…and their new concept is gonna
rock 2013!!! things are looking great for the
girls!!!
I’m really not mad at Psy for getting first place in the poll because of the worldwide “Gangnam Style” craze this year, so I must congratulate him for getting first place. And I know that Girls’ Generation is still on top, even though there wasn’t a new album this year due to the girls’ time in Japan and at least we got to see the debut of TaeTiSeo. Well, there’s a whole lot for us to anticipate in the new year, including the “I Got A Boy” comeback slated to take place on New Year’s Day and we have the girls’ American debut to look forward to as well so I know that all of the American SONEs out there are excited for that. There’s so much in store for the girls in the new year, so that means us SONEs will be having a Soshi new year. There’s absolutely, positively, totally no doubt about that. Let’s give Girls’ Generation lots and lots and lots and lots of love and support in the new year as they start going global.
GIRLS’ GENERATION FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
YES!
chukkahae~!
agree~ they are still on top tho they don’t have new album in 2012. yey!
so expect more in 2013! ladies~!
Congrats soshis, you done a great job even without the whole group album. Good luck for 2013.
I have to congratulate psy! its not easy getting first place, and next to impossible to beat the girls!
Anyways, #2 isn’t bad either, but the upcoming album will definitely shift all focus on GG!
Hope they win it next year!
SNSD hwaiting!
When I saw 2nd place, I was like, “What??!!! Who’s more popular in Korean than SNSD?” I forgot about Psy. lol. He’s the biggest not only in Korea right now, but the entire world.
Haha, yeah, that’s what I thought too.
That’s our girls. no doubt
Congrats ladies and i’m still proud. very amazing with the results. goes to show that S.K. haven’t forgotten about them or given up on them. here’s to 2013 which is also going to be another SNSD year. Soshi and Sones hwaiting! thanks SSF ♥♥♥
At least number two is great, without promoting new album or anything (only TTS)
