An SM Entertainment representative has revealed, “Sunny is leaving KBS 2TV’s ‘Invincible Youth 2′.”
Sunny already filmed her final episode last month, which will air on July 7th, ending Sunny’s eight months on “Invincible Youth 2”.
Sunny’s representative explained, “Originally Sunny was also in season one, so because of that, even before season two started, discussion with the production crew was already made for her to leave naturally when the program became stable.” The representative added that with “new MC Lee Youngja entering the show and the reorganization, it seemed like the right time to take the opportunity and leave the show now.” Furthermore, the representative stated about Sunny’s future schedules, “For the time being, it is planned she will only do Girls’ Generation activities. No individual schedule has been decided yet.”
The PD for “Invincible Youth 2” said about Sunny leaving, “Because of Sunny’s musical or her Japan activites and her individual schedule, it was a situation where she was very tired and would arrive like this.” He added, “For her other schedules, she is leaving ‘Invincible Youth 2’.” He also said, “Hyoyeon will still be staying. There will be no new different members coming in. It will stick with G5, and Lee Youngja will be coming in as an MC.”
For Sunny’s final episode, even though there wasn’t any special event, the members who knew it was her last broadcast cried along with Sunny. Since October 2009, Sunny has received love by showing a down to earth and firm image in her first broadcast of “Invincible Youth” season one, as well as into season two.

Awww, it’s rlly not fair. Why can’t they just leave Sunny on the show? I might watch the show to see how Hyo is doing. But in the 1st season, I cried so much with Hyomin’s gdbye speech and now I have to cry and say gdbye again :( I only watched this show only because of her.She became my bias after watching her @Letterman show. I fell in love with her aeygo and being and gag idol. This was my only way I can see her everyweek. I’m happy she is taking her rest. But how am I going to see her now huh? DX :((

Just heard the news and it saddens me. Where else can I enjoy Sunny’s aegyo? sigh. If Hyoyeon quits there is no reason for me to watch IY2 anymore.

gosh.. sunny is leaving invincible youth..
although i’m upset reading that, i’m also glad she’s finally taking a break, considering how busy she had been since beginning of the year, juggling so many individual activities as well as girl’s generation activity, it was like, she was everywhere(which im sure sunshiners loved!!!).. i guess now since everything has settled down, she’s taking a step back, saturday night was the night i look forward to cause of her and hyoyeon on invincible youth 2. Sunny was my reason why i’m a Sone, cause of IY1, but..i’ll continue watching IY2 for hyoyeon <3 !!!! if hyo quits, then that's it!!

I think it was a smart move for her not to show much enthusiasm, ’cause as they said, it was in her contract that she’ll eventually leave. So once she leaves the show, it wouldn’t be that much burden for us Sunshiners. Though I know we’re all hurting from this, imagine how our reactions might be once we hear this news, and we got so memories of her. *trying to hold back tears* I will miss you Soonkyu-unnie (as much as I miss your long hair & SunYeon moments) Now, there isn’t a reason for you not to interact with Taeyeon-unnie :)))) I’m glad you’ll be having some time to relax. Don’t you think she’s preparing for a new sub-unit? Like SunSic kind of thing. ’cause TTS used strong vocals. Maybe SunSic will have the ballad (for their sweet and angelic voices) & maybe HyoYulSooYoon will have a sexy concept. Sorry if I’m A BIT talkative. Soonkyu- unnie, I’ll still be here for you. Meh Invincible Youth isn’t fun to watch, its always the same overplayed unfunny gags every episode. Now with sunny gone the show’s just going to continue to hit rock bottom. What is a new mc gonna do? Honestly i find most mcs are way to talkative and adding another one unnecessary… i don’t want mcs i want to watch the stars… The PD should really try to get another star that may be there only hope to save the show imo. And i find it funny how in the beginning of the series it was G8 now G5… what bad planning…..

OMO whyyyy…..??? :'( I was super SAD when Sunny Unnie had to leave the first season now the second one too?? The only reason i watch IY is because of Sunny Unnie!! T_T I didn’t even watch the rest of the first season after she left!! Only the episodes she guessed starred. Whats Sunny Unnie going to do now :( she doesnt have any solo activities…..They said the reason she was on IY2 was to stablize the show then leave also, because she was tired from her musical and SNSD activities. BUT HYoyeon can still do dancing with the stars, SNSD activities, and IY2!! Why cant Sunny Unnie stay?? I understood why she and Yuri had to leave the first season. :(( Once again Invincible Youth is going to loose thier star worker!! >.< The show may be more stablized BUT It's going to loose its pazzzazz without her!! I REALLY REALLY hope Sunny Unnie Stars in a Hit Drama, does another Musical or does a different variety show. She's really talented and i really wish that she can case her talents more….And Gain more popularity than people give her credit for!! JUST MY OPINION PLEASE DONT BASH ME ^^
I think Sunny’s been there, done that. I have never gotten the impression that she was entirely enthusiastic this entire season. I have no doubt she wanted to help stabilize the new show out of loyalty to cast and crew but with KSY back and several episodes under their belt, that stabilizing presence is less needed. Sunny should do what makes her happy, and I don’t think it’s IY2.
I will miss her, though, as will KSY and especially Hyoyeon! They’ve become super clingy lately. :)
