During the 21st High1 Seoul Music Awards, Girls’ Generation did SONEs proud once again by nabbing two awards. The first award that they took home was the Bonsang. The Bonsang is presented to the top ten (it was twelve this year instead) artists of the year by calculating album and digital sales. Online voting, together with a final judging by the judges, help to determine the artists who receive the Bonsang.

Apart from Girls’ Generation, the other eleven artists who won the Bonsang are Secret, Sistar, 4 Minute, FT Island, BEAST, IU, Lee Seunggi, Super Junior, Miss A, T-ara and KARA.

The next award which was presented to Girls’ Generation was the Popularity Award. Girls’ Generation won this award together with Lee Seunggi, and they were ecstatic as they made their way up to collect their award. Tiffany and Sooyoung in particular thanked SONEs for their support and Tiffany even said, “I can’t do anything but thank the fans for this award. I’m tearing up!”

After accepting their second award of the night, the girls took the stage and performed their hit song “The Boys”.  The crowd erupted in cheers, and the loyal SONEs who were in attendance created a mini pink ocean and held up paper signs that read “This year is also Girls’ Generation” in Korean. Congratulations Girls’ Generation on all your accomplishments this past year!
