After SM Entertainment announced the postponement of Girls’ Generation’s American maxi-single, fans have been left wondering when it will eventually be released. However, it looks like the long wait is finally over as the release date of the maxi-single has been announced for the 20th of December. The maxi-single, also titled “The Boys” will come with seven different versions of the mega hit, “The Boys”.
The first track will be the English version of “The Boys”, and the subsequent tracks will be various remixes with the exception of the last two tracks. The sixth track is the instrumental version of the “The Boys” and the seventh is an A capella version of the song. The maxi-single has already been added onto Amazon, and a short preview of each track is also available. The full songs will only be released on the 20th of December.
It looks like the month of December will truly be a month of festivity as not only will the maxi-single be released, but numerous other goodies such as the repackaged Japanese album and the repackaged “The Boys” album will be released in December too. SONEs, get ready to empty your wallets.

okay no matter what i am going to support the girls even if i was expecting more from this single but still i’m a S♥NE for life and i will stick to these girls like glue. SM and Interscope seriously this was what i was hoping will not happen to the maxi single because i have another artist single with the same kind of format except the acapella part. i just hope no matter what their company/label will still try to have the girls do more of their songs in English. i guess i’m just going to have to wait patiently and see how things play out for the girls. thanks SSF for the update. :)
Omg i’ve already spent so much.. but I really want to buy their repackaged albums~~~~ This one too. I’ve never heard or bought maxi singles before, so i didn’t know that it’s just one song w/ a bunch of different version. That’s pretty cool though. It’s like they’re releasing EVERYTHING in December O_O Busy month… busy month… i hope after the new years the girls could have some rest ^^
lol it’s different in the US. a maxi single is just one song with many remixes that comes with it. haha i wasn’t disappointed at all. most of the cds you buy here comes in a crappy plastic case and doesn’t come with posters.

Nope, the point of it was to just release “The Boys” for the US market, nothing more or nothing less. More songs would have gone to waste if not promoted, and since they aren’t promoting, why waste time? ^^
Is the club remix from the MAMA going to be on this for sure?

A second before entering Soshified I started thinking (again) about their maxi-single, and when it would be released…

…But then I read that The Boys maxi-single is ALL ABOUT The Boys song -__-
I have no choice though, I need to have this as my first SNSD stuff XD
I thought they would make English versions of some of the songs in The Boys album…

It is not even a cd. it is a digital download only.
Nice! I’m glad they decided to release it before Christmas to.
Now I can buy this CD for everyone I know, to lure them into K-pop.
I am really disappointed. not in the girls but in interscope records and smtown. it is obvious they never had the girls even go back tot he recording studio, and after how horribly they handled the release being pushed back I was really hoping for something special. All the did was take one song and change the background effects. nothing more. And not only that is record is not even a hard copy. that means it will NOT be on billboard, and the fact that it is all just the same song means that it will not hit any higher on the digital charts either. I like the boys because it is by the girls but they have many other songs that suit their personalities more. The boys is so different it does not even show the girls music style or personalities at all. The world will see the boys and not Girls’ Generation. and since it is not a hard copy that means there will be no pictures and no posters… I am so proud to be a Sone and I love the girls, but I think they should try to get out of their contract with Interscope. They are putting them on the back burner because they do not care at all about SNSD or Sones.
I read somewhere that a maxi single can only have one song but you can have as many versions as you want on the cd, hence the reason for the remixes.
So I listened to the remixes on the album and only Track 5 – The Boys “Bring The Boys” really got my attention the others sounded….off
Wow…um……I was hoping that in an effort to give the girls a foothold here, they would add english versions of previous hit songs like they did with the Japanese mini album…..
I’m not complaining though. (a little disappointed but not complaining)

For me that I hate to brag. But you people just letting you know that I have the song of the girls generation “the boys” And even the CD album is on the 20th in December. Which is on Tuesday. And I hope that you people get a good CD of the girls generation.
And I just want to say that I love girls generation.
